SuperMaxx CVDS, EXT (pair) 6mm Axle question
 

Is it possible to use standard 23mm adapters on these or only DACE will work as they go over the 14mm hex?

i bent one rear MIP today and i want something stronger? thx

Is there anything stronger than MIP that fits 1/8 hot bodies diff?

Personally, I would go with a 3.3 setup...

whats benefit of 3.3 setup? just differen axle carriers IMHO

i have RPM axle carriers (gonna get me integy super duty) and JD carbon hybrid turnbuckles - these are super sweet

the driveshaft just bent in the middle

it was like in 30 degrees angle

the 3.3 setup will let you use the sliders, which won't pop out out when the RPM arms flex, which is why it bent. Also, the knuckles allow you to tune out bumpsteer, which is a huge benefit.

revo plastic sliders? no way i put plastic driveshaft in my truck again. i had once rock stuck between arm and shaft - > WOT -> cut shaft

and also it needs some heavy mod to get it working with 1/8diffs


Ill rather buy all used MIPs from the ebay as spares then getting plastic shafts again :) and neu will shred them anyway :)

ill give MIP a chance and then get UE'S with dace adapters

Have you tried the Revo shafts? My Revo runs them, and none of them have broken, EVER.

i know that they are durable. couple friends have nitro revos and they are happy with them

Guess i can try them as they are cheap but how to easily use them with HB 1/8diffs? i recall i seen some mod somewhere

Mike has some little adapter "thingies" that allow the use of Revo sliders with 1/8 diffs. See here:

did you considered the mips are shorter than the UE's, causing them to fall out of the cup sooner? there are quite some people that use the UE's and the rpm arms/knuckles without bending them.

a 3.3 setup would be nice too though. it's a very strong solution.

Yea, it crossed my mind...Until I remembered a member who had RPM arms on his G-Maxx with the UE cvd's....He bent them on a weekly basis. I remember it because everybody made a huge deal about bending a UE cvd...It was a couple years ago, and I don't remember who it was though....

It was Sneeck IIRC, i remember he postsed it on a dutch forum as well

i know that story too, but i personally think he either was running his pillowpalls too wide or too small, if the CVD gets in the cup too far it will either brake the cup off or bend the cvd, and if the dogbone pops out of the cup it will brake of the cup/bend the shaft as well.

Arh, when my maxx is up and running with the RPM arms/knuckles and the UE's i'll report back..

well i did tighten the pillow balls a bit and it seems ok now. MIPs are in the middle of the cup and not close to the end as before
