I'm pretty sure that's RC Monster Mike Evo. Sweet conversion in testing stage.

Re~Mix 08.25.2005 12:01 AM

Yup, that is Mike's. He should be selling those in a matter of time.

C.H.U.D. 08.25.2005 12:20 AM

How well do the Revo front/rear ends hold up to cart wheels and endos? Stock e-maxx doesn't fare so well, you get one maybe two of those events on a big fast track (the kind that I frequent) and you'll end up w/ cracked bulkheads and/or lower control arms.

Rcbros 08.25.2005 12:39 AM

There still doing some testing on the shafts and getting all the tweaks worked out. I wouldn't say soon just yet.. lol

The revo holds up great to cartwheels on a track.

I'm not surprised. This stuff has to be track tested and basher approved before you can sell it.

That's my impression. In which case the conversion (based on the actual price) may be totally worth it.

Shadow350Z 08.27.2005 09:22 PM

Love that truck
been watching the vid taht batfish posted on the other post
the truck looks so smooth running

Rcbros 08.28.2005 12:18 AM

crazyjr 08.28.2005 12:39 AM

Rcbro. I couldn't get the link to workbut if you go to the general disscusion section in the top group look for the monster madness thread the videois on page four.

Rcbros 08.28.2005 12:53 AM

ty

Shadow350Z 08.28.2005 01:55 AM

yeah look around i think its on page 4 or 5

crazyjr 08.28.2005 03:12 AM

No problem

Nick 08.30.2005 06:39 PM

Looking at it, seems all you need is the 2 plates if you already have a Gorilla chassis, correct?

Rcbros 08.30.2005 06:40 PM

Thats what I'm hoping

Shadow350Z 08.30.2005 09:08 PM

actually it looks like it has 6 plates excluding the bottom gorilla chassis

4 on top
and 2 skids

Rcbros 08.31.2005 12:18 AM

Good observastion!

Shadow350Z 08.31.2005 12:53 AM

ehh if im wrong Mike should correct me when he gets on
but im pretty sure theres 4 plates on top and 2 skids =)

RC-Monster Mike 08.31.2005 11:59 AM

Shadow is correct. The front and rear skids, along with 4 top plates make the conversion work with the xbraces and lower plate(along with a couple spacers, etc.).

Shadow350Z 08.31.2005 09:34 PM

AHAH do i get a cookie? lol
hey Mike does the convertion extend the REVO?
or is the same lenght as the stock revo?

RC-Monster Mike 08.31.2005 09:46 PM

About an inch longer.

Shadow350Z 09.02.2005 07:48 PM

did it change the handling on the revo?

crazyjr 09.02.2005 09:32 PM

Man i hope that gorilla makes enough of these chassis's from responses

RC-Monster Mike 09.03.2005 09:41 AM

It improved the handling quite a bit vs. the nitro revo. the extra length makes it much more stable through the rough stuff and it actually turns quite a bit better than the nitro revo.

Mike

coolhandcountry 09.03.2005 09:47 AM

Is there any plans on making an even longer version mike. Just curious.

RC-Monster Mike 09.03.2005 10:31 AM

Well, V2 prototype is about 1/16" longer, if this counts!

coolhandcountry 09.03.2005 10:46 AM

Well. You got to take what you can get. I was thinking bigger but that is okay. I have to get me a revo and check it out. Should talk to the one guy that has three. He has plenty to get read of.

cornolio 09.08.2005 09:00 PM

any estimates on the time of release for the evo conversion?prices?so i can prep the money:)

microdiladum 09.10.2005 08:20 PM

Yeah I too would like to know a estimate release date if possible. Anyone have a idea? Anyone have more pics?!

starscream 09.10.2005 11:33 PM

No hard date yet but hopefully sometime this fall.
The price will probably be around $250
I'm starting to save up now
Those are the only pics I've seen other than the MM video.

RC-Monster Mike 09.11.2005 06:59 AM

I would guess a month and change for the release. The V2 prototype went together very nice, only needing a minor tweak and a couple extra holes drilled to be "done". The price should be around $225 +/- for the conversion. I plan on getting some front/rear Revo assemblies to offer a complete package to those in the need.

Serum 09.11.2005 07:12 AM

sweet!!

Dafni 09.11.2005 11:11 AM

That's good news!

Get some Ti bones made, too!

coolhandcountry 09.11.2005 11:29 AM

On these revo conversions. If you run a 7xl and other big motors. Does the drive train hold up well? I don't have revo. I was wondering if it is strong or not.

Dafni 09.11.2005 11:40 AM

My Revos' driveline is doing fine. I run the Titanium center bones from Mike, the rest is stock. Well, I put in alu diff cups, but just to make sure. The stock sliders are very good, even the jokes look like new on mine.

coolhandcountry 09.11.2005 11:57 AM

I just didn't want to get it pack the power on it and bam. There goes parts flying out of it. I have noticed more and more options and upgrades coming out for the revo. I have a start on a revo. I have some chrome plated shocks. :)

mt_enthusiast 09.11.2005 01:22 PM

my revo is still stock, and it takes more abuse than the EMaxx ever could. I'm watching this thread closely! I do need a new steering servo though.

starscream 09.11.2005 01:35 PM

I run a motor similar to Dafni's and my stock Revo drive train, including revo tranny, has held up very well. The only issue I've had is a couple munched front diff's. The aluminum diff cups Dafni suggested should help.

Man thats great! I cant wait for mine. I am gonna start saving. I think I would need some of those front and rear assembleys depending on how much. Or I might find it cheaper to buy a used revo and sell of the parts I dont need. Let me know when you got an idea of how much the front and rears would be.

Gonna throw in my 7XL also, so you guys say the drivetrain should handle it? The great thing about this conversion is that I can still use all of my expensive maxx parts like my transmission. Can I use my same center shafts?

starscream 09.11.2005 02:00 PM

I got the maxx sliders to work with a little modification but they twisted from the massive torque. The revo sliders work great so I'd suggest using them or upgrading to metal dogbones or cvd's.

microdiladum 09.11.2005 02:02 PM

Yeah I have MIP center CVDs I was just wondering if they were the correct length for the chassis?
