XTM MMT BL....awesome

Well first have to say this truck is flat out awesome. Got it done last night and beat the crap out of it as well as did some high speed passes on the radar, and man this truck has surpassed what I had expected. Its tough as nails as I hit the same jumps that consistently break my emaxx's and other trucks that come out and not a problem. I took some quick pictures of it and they aren't the best pics but at least get some out there. On the bushnell it clocked 61mph. The temps on the ESC and Neu are ice cold.

Mods are:

So far the truck has the following mods:

Trinity blue springs to lower the stance a little for high speeds.
FDM motor clamp
Neu 1521/1.5D motor
CC HV110 controller
10S( 37V) lipo's....only ran 6S last night.
Spek. DX2.0 radio

I am swapping motors to a competition Neu 1524. Its not listed on Neu's site, but they are bad :gasp: motors...

brushlessboy16 03.25.2008 01:36 PM

Takedown 03.25.2008 01:39 PM

Thats a nice setup you got their! Is that a "True R/C" Pack?

jzemaxx 03.25.2008 01:55 PM

Yup....I use trucRC's, zippy's and Turborix.

With batteries 16-18lbs depending on the combo of batts I run.

Takedown 03.25.2008 02:17 PM

Those Zippy packs from UH are priced great and look to be pretty potent. Thinking of ordering their 5000mah 3s.

jzemaxx 03.25.2008 02:37 PM

I ordered 4 of the 4S 5000 packs.

Takedown 03.25.2008 03:05 PM

Let me know how it runs and please get me a vid. Im am seriously concidering to buy one of these.

brushlessboy16 03.25.2008 03:10 PM

i was looking at the 5s4000mah pack myself

aqwut 03.25.2008 03:52 PM

the Zippy 5000mAh 20C 6S packs look very nice for that price... but I'm with batteries for now..

tashpop 03.25.2008 05:07 PM

i just got my 4s 2500 zippy r's yesturday. i have a pair for 4s2p 5000mah. they are great for my first impression. kicked the crap out of my 4s2p a123's in the same truck. i am very pleased.

btw, very nice truck. and 61mph wow.

jzemaxx 03.25.2008 05:13 PM

Nice....those batteries are nice for the price.

Yeah the big MMT is pretty fast.....only one problem now. Put the 10S to give it a shot.......broke 3 teeth off the ring gear. This thing is insane on power.

Bad as in terrible or bad as in out of control?

jzemaxx 03.25.2008 06:06 PM

Bad as in out of control......should be an 1/8th scale missle with it on....lol

What specs is the 1524, and where are you getting it from if its not listed on the site?

jzemaxx 03.25.2008 07:46 PM

I ordered it from Neu directly. Its got a 1700 KV rating......

so its a custom motor? how much is it costing you?

your truck looks awesome by the way :great:

jzemaxx 03.25.2008 09:35 PM

Suppose to be, as for price, I didn't bother asking....don't really care what it costs as long as it works. I figure 300-400 in that range I would imagine.

As for the truck...thanks...now just have to get it running again.

MetalMan 03.25.2008 11:57 PM

That's the first BL MMT I have seen, and the first one I have heard of being described as "tough". Since I work at Hobby People, I've seen most of the problems this truck has, but usually it does seem like a tough truck (some people are just flat out retarded...). Nice job on the conversion!

jzemaxx 03.26.2008 12:18 AM

What are most of the problems you are seeing? The one thing that sticks out to me as a weak link are the body posts....just killed two rear ones today...hehe. Other then that the truck made some BIG jumps and landed on everything but the wheels and zero damage except for the posts. Got any hook ups?...lol. I just ordered parts from you guys today for it as the spur gear is toast.

MetalMan 03.26.2008 12:25 AM

I've seen the rear hubs go, diffs, driveshafts, 1st spd gear (with a XTM 457, though), and servos. Being an employee there I get discounts. On your next order PM me and we'll see if something can be worked out.

jzemaxx 04.10.2008 12:02 AM

Some updated pictures, new wheels and more mods.......truck has been working awesome. I will probably be shelving 2 of my emaxx's and purchasing 2 more XTM MMT's. These trucks have impressed me with how tough they are when it goes airborne at high speeds. Flips endlessly and even hit a steel light pole at about 40mph......nothing but another scratch on the body...hehe. As you can see the body has taken a beating in just a few weeks of running only speed runs. No bashing.... The almost 17" wheelbase makes this thing perfect for speed runs....

Your trucks looks awesome with those Phatlines.

jzemaxx 04.10.2008 12:14 AM

Those phaltines are a truck saver. I ran the stock tires for a while and I was able to get 63mph out of it but that was it. They would pancake so bad the truck would sway BADLY and finally just lose it.

Now with the phaltines on 8S the truck is stable. BIG difference.

jzemaxx 04.10.2008 12:16 AM

BTW, with 8S (2X 4S) wheelie bar and everything, truck weighed 19 lbs. With the 10S setup its 20 lbs.

jzemaxx 04.10.2008 12:32 AM

Yup, just swapped to the Losi upgrade.....they are bulletproof. I have since then tortured it and no problems.

do you want to buty a mmt

lutach 04.10.2008 02:43 AM

The wheels are strong too. My truck swerved to the right in one of my videos and hit the curb. The wheel took that without an issue.

jzemaxx 04.10.2008 02:08 PM

The stock wheels are good for bashing and limited speed runs....above about 60mph they are about to explode off the rim....lol

fromdaboz707 04.11.2008 02:18 AM

were can i get a moor mount for my mmt or do you half to make them

jzemaxx 04.11.2008 10:43 AM

FDM makes mounts that are pretty universal. RCM will make one as well.
