Is it just me, or is there something wrong with the contents? I can open the zip file (with WinRAR) but get errors when opening/extracting...

JerryF504 04.02.2008 11:18 PM

It worked ok for me.

MTBikerTim 04.02.2008 11:41 PM

Enjoyable read. Nice.

entjoles 04.02.2008 11:45 PM

that high voltage controler should be what some have been wanting, dont know about brakes, but 90v and 250 amps seems like enough for a few of the crazies around here

Hmm wonder is the wireless technology can be employed on the input stage as well as the output stage? That way the battery would not be required, just beam it to the esc directly from a wall socket. We could also leave the esc in a box on the bench and then just beam power to the motor. All good ideas, everybody get to work.

But it sounds as though you would need some sort of directional auto tracking antenna to keep the beam concentrated at the car. It would also be very good for getting rid of small pests. I wonder if lead pants and a tin foil hat will be included.

Not sure about the pants, but Finnster has the hat design covered! Lack of lead pants may help the overpopulation problems we have...

wow, "24 grams would have won him the nats" that wireless tech is cool but the airwaves are crowded enough, ohh......technology will kill us all, good thing there is r/c to distract us

Getter Robo 04.03.2008 12:48 AM

I found the control freak part of the "Chicks dig RC" page pretty funny :D Well made read

Sammus 04.03.2008 12:55 AM

Seriously, look at the date on the bottom of the release

edit: OK so I just read through peoples responses and realised everyone had already figured it out lol

BlackedOutREVO 04.03.2008 01:16 AM

Castle has developed a new wireless technology to connect the motor with the controller. “This system operates in the 2.4 jigahertz range,” says Chief Engineer Patrick del Castillo, “

LMAO! 2.4 jigahertz range

I'll take one. I'll also take one of those "Control Freak" t-shirts...

Don't get me started on that brushless control line ban in SF because old folks were getting dizzy and falling over... I personally don't care about either one, it's the fact that our governing bodies feel the need to "protect" us from these rediculous incidents.

I'm going to go ahead and play my blonde card- Sammus thinks it's all an april fools joke, seemed like a legit write up to me, yes he says, "jigahertz" could be a typo or inside joke. Am I missing something? Have I really been fooled. I hate doubting myself. No one would take an april fools joke that far. Somebody tell me I haven't been fooled. If I have I may as well read the magazines at the grocery checkout.

Arct1k 04.03.2008 08:25 AM

Err it was posted on april 1st but didn't find it to put it up until yest...

_paralyzed_ 04.03.2008 08:31 AM

-bumpity bump bump-

lincpimp 04.03.2008 09:39 AM

This is a joke, read the last paragraph on the last page. It says something about the whole thing being made up, or something like that.

What's_nitro? 04.03.2008 10:18 AM

That's too bad. I really wanted one of those T-shirts!

_paralyzed_ 04.03.2008 10:52 AM

I feel like a flippin' idiot. I don't think I've been had since buying an ounce of parsley in junior high. Castle got me. Hook, line, and sinker. I have newfound respect for those wily rascals at castle, above and beyond their fine products and excellent customer service. I'm going to go lay on some books, maybe some knowledge will rub off on me.

chilledoutuk 04.03.2008 11:17 AM

bit annoying really tbh i was looking forward to reading about what castle were upto and just another very annoying april fools joke.

_paralyzed_ 04.03.2008 12:02 PM

i don't get annoyed anymore, a huge waste of energy, they got me, I can laugh it off, I've been stuck in bed multiple times for over 8 hours, completely helpless, and all I could do is wait for the next shift of help to come, that is annoying, but any anger is wasted energy. Anger is misplaced hurt, fear, or frustration, and it is a choice whether you're mad or not. I don't mean to preach or anything, just sharing my experiences

Pdelcast 04.07.2008 07:12 PM

I want one of those "Control Freak" T-Shirts myself...

:)
