I Am Back

i will be building my gmaxx again guys, sorry about that. Once i sell my savage or trade for an emaxx to hop up i will start. Anyways i cannot wait to sell my savage.

Serum 09.01.2005 05:07 PM

I don't feel too bad about it Toby.. ;)

have you got a nitro of bl savage? (sorry for not remembering..)

toby 09.01.2005 05:09 PM

it is a wasp .28 savage. it is a nice truck but i like a BL better and i do not have enough time for a nitro.

How about converting your Savage to BL?

The Losi shocks look good on it!

toby 09.01.2005 05:13 PM

i would not know where to start man, i have a dream truck too, it was on here before, mike helped me with the list and same twit hthe candyman

Dafni 09.01.2005 05:22 PM

Well, you don't know where to start?! ..... I guess Serum is already typing ;)

This is the place with the guys who'll help you!

If you're into bashing, the Savy is a serious candidate!

Serum 09.01.2005 05:24 PM

ahhhh here it is.. It was some mining, but i found your thread back Mate!.. ;)

toby 09.01.2005 05:24 PM

but would it cost just as much to build a gmaxx? will a brushless be able to push the weight of this savage? (it is awfully heavy) would it be worth it? it would be more rare than a gmaxx. now that you mention it i have ideas running through my head. Can someone hel pme?

toby 09.01.2005 05:25 PM

a classic thread. thanks man.

Serum 09.01.2005 05:30 PM

Amen.. If you need an alltime BASHING machine, you need a BL converted savage..

thing you need for a allseason basher;

-conversion kit (or some aluminum, patience and tools to make the conversion)
-savage with the intention to go BL (he may not be too shy)
-16 cells
-9920

i can promise you this;

it will be quicker than with the .28.. leave the 2 speed tranny intact for absurd shaft twisting, cup bending acceleration...

It is a blast on 16 cells.

You have seen my audio visual contribution to the 16cell powered savage? (this movie was made with an overgeared motor, the 7XL will be quicker if geared good..)

-Feigao 7XL

toby 09.01.2005 05:32 PM

is it possible to link me to the conversion? I am excited now, is there any parts i can sell off of this to make some money for this project? how will i know how to convert it??

toby 09.01.2005 05:35 PM

This might be the best project EVER that i have done (besides my rc18t of course) so it WILL be faster than a wasp .28? is there room or do i need to jam everything in there some how.

Serum 09.01.2005 05:38 PM

just ASK my friend.. ;)

I thought Mike can get the conversion kits.

check my site, i know.. it takes some time, it's not sorted, but you'll get the idea of the conversion;

Go for it, Toby.

7XL gets my vote, too

toby 09.01.2005 05:39 PM

Serum 09.01.2005 05:40 PM

It will pay off in the avatar Dafni....

;)

I put whole my heart in it..

toby 09.01.2005 05:41 PM

i want you to know i am not familiar with the savage at all. i need to find a link to the conversion, Plus a detailed instruction manual

Dafni 09.01.2005 05:42 PM

I know, Rene. I also knew this thread would keep you awake :D

Toby, check all of Serums pix ;)
And about the conversion, just check some pictures here on the forum, and use a bit of imagination, patience and $$.

Serum 09.01.2005 05:44 PM

You didn't even took time looking at my site did you? speedy consales..

Go on, take some time, sniff around... (PATIENCE MY FRIEND...)

with a technicall view, you'll understand..

And with some searching on this forum you might even find a drawing of how to make your own motormount! what a GREAT forum this is... ;)

Yeah Dafni.. Adrenaline is running thru my veins..

Dafni 09.01.2005 05:52 PM

:D

The avatar looks nice! Thank you ;) European connection!

toby 09.01.2005 05:54 PM

ok i went through the WHOLE site.

toby 09.01.2005 06:02 PM

i have looked at a few and i think serums looks the best, i am not able to make my own though being i am 14 with limited funds LOL. i do have enough for a complete gmaxx if that tells you my financial position

Serum 09.01.2005 06:09 PM

Looks GOOD on you Dafni!

Well, the conversion kit is available for about 100 euro here in Europe (about 120 dollars) it is an easy fit..

Dafni 09.01.2005 06:12 PM

You mean complete as in BL, suspension and everything? Then a BL Savy is realistic! No doubt.

Do you want to race or bash?

Ja, thanks Serum. But you have to admitt, Angelina was also very easy on the eye.
The Idler ROCKS, though!

toby 09.01.2005 06:14 PM

strictly bash it fellows

toby 09.01.2005 06:16 PM

you know, the usual jumping 10 feet high to the road and off of my roof.

Serum 09.01.2005 06:17 PM

i say... Sell the nitro, get a BL setup and enjoy the ride..

What servo are you using on your savage? what spur, what driveshafts? do the diffs have got the 4 spider mod?

Are you that idiot that jumps over his house Toby? :D

toby 09.01.2005 06:18 PM

do you mean sell my nitro engine? or sell my savage and buy a bl truck? and to tell you the truth, all i know is it has a 4 gear mod, i bought the truck used

i wanna jump my house

Serum 09.01.2005 06:22 PM

I mean the nitro setup of your savage.

can you get detailed pics of the drivetrain? is it a cvd type driveshaft or a dogbone?

I won't reply the posts for about an hour or 6.. i'm off to bed..

Dafni 09.01.2005 06:25 PM

Convert the Savy, then!! And save the Gorilla for the track, maybe later on you wanna start racing.. With your spare money you might get a stock maxx at one point, too.

toby 09.01.2005 06:53 PM

i took the engine and gas tank and pipe and carb out of the truck but i have to go so no time to finish the pictures tonight maybe tomorrow

toby 09.01.2005 08:45 PM

i am alos gunna clean my truck tomorrow and make it look new, what would be good to spray it with?

Sylvester 09.01.2005 08:54 PM

a good spray would be WD-40 for the chassis and other realated parts, hmm this might get interesting :-)

coolhandcountry 09.01.2005 09:54 PM

If you going to go all out gmaxx with all aluminum. It is a lot cheaper to do the savage. JMO

toby 09.02.2005 08:10 AM

i am looking on ebay to find a BL set up (the motor mount and battery tray

toby 09.02.2005 08:34 AM

how do the batteries get held in,??

why did you puit that skid pklate which looks like a tmaxx chassis?

toby 09.02.2005 11:21 AM

i dug into the savage today, it is a confusing vehicle IMO, i went to take the rea skid off and the whole rear end fell apart. luckily i was already organizing screw so i know where they go. there is one plate that fell out and i am not sure where it goes. i found out that it is a DOGBONE driveshaft, stock servo and really dirty. I wanna think of a colour scheme and i think it might just be chrome coloured. If i can find dimensions for the battery tray and motor plate i found someone who can make it.

So far i need to sell Motor, carb, airfilter, brand new skids (front rear and back, purple) Possible my Blue TVP, and fuel tank/mounts, glow plug igniter/charger,roto start, RS battery/charger, i think that is all for now

Serum 09.02.2005 03:42 PM

there are quite a few options on the batterieholders. The nicest are the low CG types i made. they fit the lowest holes on the TVP's..

The dogbones being silver, means they are the heavy duty type. That plate that fell out, is it aluminum?

And would you please be so kind to use the edit button Toby? one post is enough, and you could combine the three posts you did.. I know your enthusiastic, but would you please use the edit button?

toby 09.02.2005 04:05 PM

they were black dogbones, it was an aluminum plate, by the motor. I found someone to make my battery holders and motor mount but do not know dimensions or anything. I am gunna keep my tvp and just "de-anodize) them, save me some money right now.

SOrry about making so many posts. can you maybe give me the dimesions of the plates and battery holders?

I hung a photo of your truck in my shed where i work too. I need to know what is included when you sell a motor, is it the engine and carb?

Serum 09.02.2005 04:26 PM

Yeah, you can sell the motor, clutch, clutchbell, carb, exhaust and tank..

You can do the measurements yourself! just measure the inside width of the the vertical plates, its 75 mm, the distance between the M3 holes of the motor are 25 mm (heart/heart)

I need to measure them too, and you use other TVP's, i am not sure if they are 100% identical to the tvp's i've got.. Please do the measurements yourself, the batterie holders only use 2 or three screws, depending if you mount them high or low.

Just do it..! ®
