Would this work?
I have a spare motor and a spare speed controller. The only problem is that the motor is a 18th scale Dynomite C4 9200kv and the controller is a BK 9920.
Over kill on the contoller I know but would it work? |
It most certainly would.
that will work Johnny.
Thanks, I'll give it a shot.
Ok, that's not working out so well.
I give it a little throttle (maybe 5-10% and it works fine. If I go any more than that, it starts to pulse. On, off, on, off, on, off and motor starts to get warm. Tried it with a 2s and 3s...didn't make a difference. I am not running a ubec. Left the black jumper in. I did not hear any beeps when I programmed it. What the heck? |
Possibly rpm too high for the 9920? Was the motor unloaded?
9920 can only take 40K rpms right?...
Yeah that's it. I was gonna say you need to keep the voltage under like 5 volts or it will over-rev the 9920. I believe the limit is 42k. That's a 1S motor!
Hmm, my buddy runs an 8XL with a 9920 on 6S in testing on the stampede. That is over 42K rpms I thought.
maybe not under load?
I believe with a 2 pole motor the esc's limit is 100k
I thought a 9920 would not run anything more then a 2 pole. I had understood it will not work with a Neu 4 pole.
I think your right, but the instructions for my 7020 say 2 pole motors 100k, 4 pole 50k. ????
Maybe mine is an old version? It's actually a 12020, but same firmware. It had a 42K 2-pole limit. I ran a Lehner XL2800 on 4S and hit the rev limit at 3/4 throttle. It wasn't pretty.
It should be 100K for 2pole. I have the 3695 and it only goes to 42K.
I've ran 8XL on 6S as well on an LST... but it probably doesn't get those the rpm limit when under load....

I run a 15l feigao on 5s lipo and have not had any issues, that is around 30k.

Could it be interference??? I have no idea from what...
Yeah, I would try reprogramming and see if it helps. Does it "glitch" with any of your other motors? |
Well I reprogrammed it and no dice. I hooked up an old 9L that I have and it worked fine. I guess the little motor doesn't like the big speed control.
