If it says unavailable give in an hour, YouTube snipes things for review before republishing.

jnev 05.09.2008 09:53 PM

I just can't beleive... I don't know anyone with as bad as luck that you have had with ESC's...

big greg 05.09.2008 09:55 PM

im with ya there jnev! i can see taugnting the mm with 5s, but an esc thats 2 days old, that can handle more than what your giving it... crazy

dezfan 05.09.2008 10:02 PM

Well that sucks!

e-mike 05.09.2008 10:06 PM

wtf..:surprised:im scared,,,i think that im gonna keep mine in is box ....and run my 2 years old mm, its more reliable? ....when a saw your video i couldn beleve it

DickyT 05.09.2008 10:31 PM

Don't be scared, I seem to have an innate ability to break things when they should not, it follows me outside of RC as well. I Kinda miss my Rusty now, that truck was darn near indestructible, the Revo is solid and handles great, much better than the e-maxx I had, but can to seem to keep an esc intact. I think it has issues with no longer being nitro. lol

big greg 05.09.2008 10:35 PM

what a sissy tell that truck that it should like staying clean... and its nitro brothers are jealous of him lol

DickyT 05.09.2008 10:43 PM

I have, repeatedly while I was building it. It promised all was cool but apparently lied. I can hear it laughing at me right now as I type, I'm going to go throw a blanket over it so it can't see me to laugh at.

big greg 05.09.2008 10:45 PM

lmao i just wired up the 1515 1y to my revo, hes begging me to take him to play, its a little late tho

BrianG 05.09.2008 11:37 PM

Wow, you have about as much luck as another member AAngel (I think that's the one)! All I gotta say is that I'm glad I live far from you - hopefully your electronic-destructive aura only extends a short way...

Only with the Revo...

Every other RC I've ever had was good to me except the reason I converted to BL, the Rusty. I hit a puddle, the xl-5 went up like a roman candle and that started rc addiction phase II

TexasSP 05.09.2008 11:58 PM

Must be the humidity in Florida.....

neweuser 05.10.2008 12:42 AM

wow, that really bites. Man, I kinda miss wheelie's like that with my maxx. I have the slipper, so barely get wheelie's. But, I'm also gald I can keep my front wheels on the ground.

too bad man, i'm sure they will warranty it though.

Maybe it is a humidity thing AAngel is here in New orleans.:oh:

What's_nitro? 05.10.2008 12:48 AM

Any chance you popped it open to see if a wire came loose?

DRIFT_BUGGY 05.10.2008 01:12 AM

So unlucky, probably got alot of people scared now

Nope. I've been putting my buggy back together and dialing it in so i have something to drive to drive at the company picnic later today.

What's_nitro? 05.10.2008 01:43 AM

Does it need to be powered on to connect with the CL? I was thinking that one of the leads to/from the switch became dislodged internally. If CL will work when it's off then that theory is bust.

DickyT 05.10.2008 01:51 AM

CL works anytime, mine does not work at all. I think the guys in the thread in the castle support section have it right, bec maybe but definitely the low power board.

No, DickyT caught it. It's just as humid here in Houston as Florida, it was all sarcasm. I was being a smart arse!

my mother in law lives in Crosby Tx just outside of Houston, and when I was visiting here I was miserable in that humidity...I am used to the 7% humidity in the desert climate

TexasSP 05.10.2008 11:20 AM

It's a beach for sure sometimes. Especially Crosby because of all the rice patties and swamp lands near buy. You're also right near the bay too.

The one thing about the humidity is it makes taking a shower fell oh so great!

and you're sweaty again by the time you leave the shower stall....

My MMM died within a minute as well. No smoke, no burning. Then I plugged in a receiver battery pack. It works. So the switching BEC is the culprit.

It's backordered on CC's website, so I will play it for a months or two before exchangeing. At least I can run it on my muggy now.

TexasSP 05.12.2008 03:02 PM

I would call them, they will take care of you immediately. i believe you would see the replacement within a week or so. Check with dickyt, he can tell you.

DickyT 05.12.2008 03:27 PM

Call Castle, they held a few in reserve to cover possible initial failure. my replacement will ship this week.

Must be stoked. So they are sending you a new unit before receiving the dead unit? :oh: Now that is customer service

yeah, since i bought it direct they have proof that I have one. I will return the broken one in the packaging the new one comes with. Just like the HP and Dell business laptops have., they send you the part you return the defective one on the packaging. you have a certain time to get it done or they charge your account.

Castle did that for me when my MM crapped out on it's first run. Castle told me to send the bad unit back in the replacement units packaging!

Hey Dicky, who did you talk to at Castle? I just called and they told me to fill out a form and send it to them and they would look at it. I'd like to get a new one in less time if possible.

DickyT 05.13.2008 12:17 PM

I forgot his name and lke an idiot did not right it down. It was not Joe Ford, Terry, Thomas, something like that I recall it starting with a T. sorry yesterday became a blur for me. a sewage pipe broke 2 floors above my condo and as the old saying goes..... shit flows down hill. I spent most of the day trying to make the unit livable again.

suicideneil 05.13.2008 06:29 PM

It never rains, but it pours.... nasty.

I contacted them and they said that they didn't have anymore available for "advanced replacement".:sarcastic:

nbcaznmaster or whatever his name was? Didn't he once have a cardboard battery tray?

I used to have bad luck with BL ESCs... Two BK 9918/9920, first one took 6 months for replacement, second "only" 4 months. I promptly sold it after that. Then two MGM 12012 C/B ESCs, first one took 6 months for repair, when the second one died I threw it away... These American CC controllers have given me much better luck though. I've only burned up a couple MMs and a HV-110.
