Will My setup Work Properly?

Finally have made my list on what I plan to get and run in my Cen Matrix truggy. I will be running a Mamba Max ESC with the updated firmware, Medusa 36-60 1600kv or 2000kv motor, FlightPower 3200mah 30c 5s lipo "Might Be getting a 4500mah 6s soon". I am wondering how well this setup will run? Will their be any heat issues or noticable cogging if programmed properly? I want to be able to start from a standstill and run about 3 or so mph and not notice any cogging and not to have any heat issues at all. Is this possible and what settings would you reccomend?

I hope you mean the Mamba Monster and not the Mamba Max.
The max is only rated for 3s and people can run 4 or 5 but that is pushing it. The Monster is rated for 6s right out of the box.

No sadly I meant MM. I will most likely stick with 5s for my MM and 6s for my upcoming MMM.

brushlessboy16 05.14.2008 07:32 PM

The MM WILL NOT run on 6s!

Takedown 05.14.2008 07:38 PM

Theirs nothing like trying it out first hand.

dont count on the MM to run on 5s, I am not familar with the Medusa's, with 4s I would go with a Neu 1515/1y (2200KV) or a 1515/1.5d(2700KV), the 1y if you want a happier running system or if you want to race, the 1.5d if speed is more important to you...if you need to run the 5or 6s I would go with the MMM, if it was me I would just go with the MMM and do what ever you want.....and with 5s I would go with the 2d and 6s the 2.5d

bl-is-future 05.14.2008 07:40 PM

Good luck frying your MM then. Not to be rude but it wont hold up to it for long. Just go with the Monster.

Takedown 05.14.2008 07:42 PM

Ive ran the 5s on the MM with my cap board and it ran very nicely. Got to 148 degrees after a hard run and I feel 100% safe running it. I will for sure be running it on 5s.

bl-is-future 05.14.2008 07:47 PM

5s you might get away with but i wouldnt go 6s. But... you do as you feel jsut let me know how it turns out for you.

Will do... As of now I desperately need a new motor... Fried the ammo.

get a Neu.....there is a cliche

"You buy cheap you get cheap"

Takedown 05.14.2008 08:10 PM

The medusa motors arent cheap at all. Its $110 for the one Im looking at and their suppose to be neu quality material.

from what I have heard they are better than a Feigao but below a Neu, it isnt just the materials that make Neus great it is thier design, before I bought my first Neu I ran Feigaos and decieded to make the plunge and when I first got it I was very impressed...its the only motor I run now...I still have a Feigao in my rustler because I havnt fried it yet, and I am planning on selling it

Takedown 05.14.2008 08:54 PM

All Im saying is you shouldnt be bashing medusa motors if you've never tried one first hand. I have high hopes for mine when I order it.

brushlessboy16 05.14.2008 09:13 PM

I run my mm on 5s and its fine, but overvoltage kicks in when the pack is fresh...

Takedown 05.15.2008 08:29 AM

Overvoltage isnt an issue with my current setup. Never ran into it.

brushlessboy16 05.15.2008 08:55 AM

Listen, ALL mms have overvoltgage protection... if yours doesnt something is wrong. components are rated for 25v... a fully charged 6s is....25.2... not including voltage spikes from braking... capacitors wont fix it either cuz the dont reduce the voltage... Its really pointless why waste ur money..

Takedown 05.15.2008 02:30 PM

I dont plan to run it on 6s for the 2nd time. I was just saying I havent ran into overvoltage on 5s.

bl-is-future 05.15.2008 03:19 PM

just curious, why are you set on the MM over the MMM. Is it because you already have the MM and don't want to spend more money on a ESC?? If you dont have any ESC now i would just get the MMM but... if you have the MM i have heard 5s running good just I personally wouldn't do it.

Takedown 05.15.2008 04:29 PM

I just got a new MM 2 weeks back so I would like to stick with it for now.

Takedown 05.15.2008 04:35 PM

I am in a hot debate right now. Ive got an extra $160 to blow and what I want is either a MMM or a Medusa 36-60 2000kv motor. I can get my truggy running if I get the motor and I will be one step closer to getting my warhead project finished if I get the MMM.

brushlessboy16 05.15.2008 04:54 PM

Triple M for sure

Takedown 05.15.2008 05:03 PM

Hmmm... I could just buy another cheap ammo for now to keep the truggy running and get the MMM as well.
