Just though i woudl see how many people run other types of RC like helis and airplanes.
I curenntly run anything RC. If it is RC i want it. My collection: FLM Savage (land) HDX500SE (Heli) Typhoon 3-d (Plane) Custom Made Boat about 4ft long. |

Me too! |
I dabble in heli's too. Haven't taken the full plunge as they get expensive quick.

For the boat guys: Awesome guys. My boat has a 12volt electric motor which is huge, and i have a mechanical speed controller and 3 12v rechargeable alarm batteries for a total of 36v. In the process of re fiberglassing some things then will get it all painted looking nice. |
Right now, just trucks (6), cars (4) and buggies (3). I spent a long time with planes. Want to do helis and will - but later when I have the time to really learn to fly one.

1 4wd monster truck, 1 4wd 1:10 buggy, 1 4wd touring car, 1 cheapy wanna be heli (bcx2).
All in some form of broken. |

just an flm rusty right now....
really holdin back on the hobby as I always end up selling stuff..... why do people like hellis? what all can do you with them? I've never flown one so idk how fun it is but it just seems that planes boats and hellis are limited compared to cars you can jump rock crawl drift em cars seem like they can do so much more so why do hellies or planes? what's cool bout them? |

Just trucks and buggies for now. Dabbled in the CX2 for a while - the coaxial heli's were pretty easy to pick up, but as soon as you go to the next level it gets very difficult very fast - takes a serious amount of concentration compared with bashing a buggy.
And don't try to do it in your living room after a fews beers as your significant other will not be to happy when you bang into the tv or knock stuff off shelves. |
Land vehicles for me!
Aircraft of any type can get costly to repair when I crash! Note that I said "when", not "if". Boats can be tricky to get if something goes wrong. There are so few swimming months in Iowa where the water is not freezing or slimy from algea. |
Right now I have:
BL XXX-T MF2 BL Jammin X-1 CR BL Revo BL T-Rex 450SE heli Nitro Thunder Tiger Raptor 30 V2 heli I used to have: Traxxas Nitro Sport brushed electric Kyosho 2wd buggy nitro Lite Machines LM110 heli BL T-rex 450XL CDE heli and a few other nikko type trucks BTW T-MaxxRacer32, you don't know what your missing with helis!!!:mdr: Trust me you can do TONS more with helis, but it is also alot harder to do. :yes:You should check out some of the heli forums like runryder.com or helifreak.com and ESPECIALLY check out the videos that are posted on there. Watch the videos from 3D Masters and the funflys. You won't believe what these pro flyers can do with a heli!:surprised: VintageMA- It's funny that you mentioned flying in your living room, because a while back I was flying my T-Rex 450XL CDE in our living room and apparently:neutral: I pi$$ed off my sister and she threw a "throw" pillow,(no pun intended), right on the main rotor.:diablo: Needless to say, I was furious after she did that! |
This is what you are missing in the heli world:
I still own the bigger one the smaller one i sold a while back http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...h_DSC00867.jpg http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...h_DSC00866.jpg http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...h_DSC00865.jpg http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...h_DSC00864.jpg http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...h_DSC00863.jpg http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...h_DSC00862.jpg http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...h_DSC00861.jpg |
R/c Hobby.
Well I still feel kind of new at this. I have 6 EMaxx's. 4 of them are the extended metal version UE, FLM, Hardcore, & Dynamite/Integy. The other two are the original stock that I am giving to my boys when we get to Korea. I also have an Apache heli that I am trying to learn how to fly, and we also picked up an 19" jetski on ebay for $1. that rips it up in the lake. It is fun, but I am focused on the monster truck facet for right now. That is expensive enough by itself. I really only got started in this like three years ago and I have approx $15K to $20K tied up in my collection. Hey what can I say that is what retirement pay is for...
For furture projects I plan on getting a Hellfire, and XTM/MMT, and I also want to do a little road racing to see how that works out for me. I stay with the electric types just because dealing with the fuels is to complicated with all of the traveling we have to do in our work. Plus all of the tuning and messiness is just too much for me to deal with. |
If you are getting into flight, invest the $200.00 into a simulator. After the initial 200, it costs zero to crash. It's the best money I have spent and has helped me a lot with flying.
