wut to replace the stock slipper?

as the title says

wut do i replace the stock 70T slipper with?

RC-Monster Mike 09.15.2005 10:56 PM

I recommend the Strobe slipper as a replacement/upgrade. It takes bigger, tougher gears and has the ability to dial in some slip, unlike the stock setup.

Shadow350Z 09.15.2005 11:42 PM

thnx Mike
can i get a linky??
to the best and not a wallet burner

Serum 09.16.2005 02:12 AM

http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...od=Slipper-Kit

It includes the bearing.

coolhandcountry 09.16.2005 04:07 PM

If you go to the strobe. Don't you have to change the pitch to mod 1?

Serum 09.16.2005 05:19 PM

Yeah, that's the reason why Mike reccomends it.. Mod 1 is much stronger than a 32 ptich..

coolhandcountry 09.16.2005 05:29 PM

The strength part sounds real good. Just seems the selection of spurs are limited. I still running the 32 pitch for this reason. I have to change up. ONe day.

Shadow350Z 09.16.2005 10:45 PM

so means i need to change pinions too?
wut pinions should i use??
that i can get at my LHS also can fit a HV-MAxx

Serum 09.17.2005 03:56 AM

You probably can't get them at your lhs, it are mod 1 pinions.

mt_enthusiast 09.17.2005 10:48 AM

I ran the 1/8" mod1 pinions from Mike with the 51T Ofna spur on the HV-Maxx. You really need to watch the final gear ratio recommended by Novak. Before replacing the HV-Maxx, I originally geared 1st speed to be in the recommended gear ratio and never used 2nd.

Shadow350Z 09.20.2005 06:01 PM

will robinson racing double disc be good replacement??

coolhandcountry 09.20.2005 06:06 PM

The robinson does nicely. IT is not the strobe system. It does run the 32 pitch though.

Shadow350Z 09.20.2005 06:29 PM

so how doe the robinson work??
does it stil use sliper pegs?

coolhandcountry 09.20.2005 06:37 PM

No slipper pegs. It uses disk. Hold alot better than pegs.

RC-Monster Mike 09.20.2005 08:08 PM

The Robinson is a step above the stock setup, but a couple steps below the Strobe. With high power, the Robinson slipper is inconsistant, and the spur gears are rather soft. The Strobe offers more durability, consistency and tuneability.

Shadow350Z 09.20.2005 11:57 PM

wut other spurs can i get w/out buying online??

mt_enthusiast 09.21.2005 12:14 AM

my LHS only has stock and RRP to choose from. Novak recommends RRP, but I never ran it.

Shadow350Z 09.21.2005 01:24 AM

maybe ill jus get a robinson racing one since i cant really order anything online

coolhandcountry 09.21.2005 12:07 PM

They make two version of the robinson. One is for 72 and 76 teeth. the other is for 66-70. Just to let you know.

Shadow350Z 09.21.2005 05:57 PM

im getting 72 and gonna put my pinion up about 3-4t
so gonna be about 15-16t/72t

coolhandcountry 09.21.2005 06:16 PM

That is a big step in gearing. Truck to slow. Try it before you swap it. The novak seems to like low gearing. Mine seemed to do well on 12 72. If I didn't run big tires may have helped to. :)

Shadow350Z 09.21.2005 11:23 PM

im running right now are
12/70
RRP pinion and a Traxxas Spur
its pretty quik
