So whatcha guys like to drink?

Spurred on by TDC57 and his drinkin' and workin' I was wondering what y'all like to drink?

I am a hard liquor drinker, mainly crown royal and cognac.

I got into drinking crown straight, as it is hard for even the worst bartender to screw up a triple crown on the rocks.

I do also like tequila, and have a fondness for Cabo Wabo, Sammy Hagar's tequila, and Patron silver. I really like tequila sunrises, probably the only "mixed drink" that I will do.

So what is your poison...

BL_RV0 05.31.2008 01:15 AM

Dr. Pepper.

What's_nitro? 05.31.2008 01:15 AM

I'm definitely a hard liquor guy. Vodka, Baileys, and Bombay Sapphire are my favorites. All beer tastes disgusting to me. I do like mixed drinks, mainly White Russians and Vodka Martinis. Shaken, of course. :mdr:

azjc 05.31.2008 01:16 AM

living in the Southwest Tequila is my drink of choice and I feel Patron is very overrated there is a local family made brand called 3 Amigos that is excellent there is a high end grocery store called AJs and America West arena (where the Suns play) that sell it, here is a link to thier web site

http://3amigostequila.com/

they have a few videos in the process dropdown box

also Tequila.net has some ratings on the good stuff

Nifty, I will have to give that a try. Have you had Cabo? Makes the best tequila sunrises IMO! Don Hulio (sp?) is not too bad either.

No. You have NO IDEA how white I am. I'm really not all that white, though. Crikey!

JOEX 05.31.2008 01:26 AM

Been on the wagon for the past 3-4 months:angel:

Gotta a feeling it may break down during the camping trip next week:whistle:

Turkey and soda was the drink of choice years ago. Crown on the rocks is very nice too but the usual was mass quantities of cheap beer:tongue:

No tequila for me.......EVER AGAIN......

Yeah...I was at this Cuban Pig Roast and they had some there...my wife saw me indulging with the Cabo and said" It looks like I will be driving us home tonite"...., and I did like it, you can get it @ Costco for a decent price

Not so much now that I am old and married:no:

Beer is good too, especially the real stuff not most American beer.

Reminds me of a good Australian joke: What do American beer and sex in a canoe have in common? They are both f#@$ing close to water!

lincpimp 05.31.2008 01:34 AM

Tequila is so good, but I am not a jose cuervo fan. That stuff is not good. I also like a proper margarita. Good tequila, real lime juice (fresh squeazed), and cointreau. No freaking sweet and sour! I want a real maragrita!

I have an issue, it does not matter how much I drink, I never lose my taste. i cannot stomach cheap liquor, no matter how much I drink. Plus, being a fat guy! I can really put it away. I can usually drink a 1/5 of crown, and still function fine. I do get "friendly" with the ladies though. I can outdrink all of my friends, which sucks when we go out, I wish i was a lightweight, cheap date!

TDC57 05.31.2008 01:52 AM

Screwdrivers!! 60-70 K1 with orange juice for coloring

Gotta love it! You were the inspiration for this thread Shaun!

I also like Vodka. Rain is best with sprite, and a lime. But I do like skyy with OJ, just a bit though. And as bad as it sounds, I like absolut shots with lemon and sugar, gotta love lemon drops! No wussy shots for me! Must do tequila straight up, no training wheels!

I had a similar place in college. Even had my own bartender, her name was Natasha, and she was playboy quality. Blonde, 5'8", and one of the best bartenders I have met. My drink there was the barcagarita, basically a std margarita with the tequila replaced with bacardi 151, lots of it! About 8 of those and you can see God, out of one eye that is...

Man I miss those days, Ineed to look her up and see what she is doing.

BrianG 05.31.2008 02:23 AM

Beer = yuk! MAYBE if it's really hot outside, and the beer is really cold, I can stand one, maybe two. But I'd rather have soda.

I'm more of a Long-Island type of person. Strong, but doesn't taste like it.

Funny, No she was a knock out. Easily a 9, and if she was felling wild, she could get to 10. She also had a beautiful brunette roommate. Need I say more. No wonder I liked to hang out with them. Plus she had tons of hot friends! And her mom was born in the same town as I, plus we shared a birthday.

I do not have the beer googles problem either. I can be smashed and still keep off the mingers. Plus all of the other guys are hitting up the dogs, while the foxes are gettting tipsy, and lonely. I always went for the chics that were out of my league. I did not get turned down every time, so it was worth it! Plus I am decent at BS, that always helps...

Takes one to know one...

I should be an interogator, a couple of drinks and people tell me everything. I wish I could remember half of what I have heard from the ladies, but I have a mind like a steel seive...

I actually own an auto body shop, about the same level as used car salesmen!

I do have a conscience, so I generally went home alone:cry:

I do have tons of hot female friends, and they do get rather friendly at times. Not sure if the wife likes all of them though.

My guess is your wife likes none of them, women have a tendency to be very competitive more so than guys, with guys there is no such thing as "just friends " with attractive women sex is always on the mind..but thats what makes men what they are and as much as women might complain that you are being a pig they wouldnt have it any other way

I don't enjoy getting drunk, this must sound rather lame to you party animals, I am with the same girl for over 12 years. I did had a lot of relations before this.. (i was holding track with a friend of mine, nothing to be proud off, but it's like getting a tattoo, you might regret it at some point) My girl calls me the male slut, i don't consider it sluttyness, i consider it a business approach to observe what's available on the market, and see what it is you like about a girl.. (it's all a matter of gaining knowledge, right?) My policy was not to cheat on women, or have other women who are in a relationship with a guy. this only complicates things.

Alcohol is called the social lubricant, but it can be anti-social as well, if volume gets involved.

I recently lost a sister, she was handicapped for a long period of time due to an accident with a drunk driver (that's what i hate about irresponsible drivers, i would rather hit them dead than to shake their hands) he later turned out to be an uncle of a friend of my other sister.. quite remarkable...

very sorry for your loss..
i `ve lost two cousins the same way... seems like those accidents is a form of modern cancer... my country systains about 10k people/year due to 'road accidents'...

Serum 05.31.2008 07:36 AM

Sorry for your loss too.

yes, we've been to Greece on Holiday for 3 times now.

I've witnessed some drunk guys getting in their vehicle and drive. The roads don't help either, rather chaotic.

fromdaboz707 05.31.2008 10:09 AM

Dr.Pepper is the best.

Jeremy1976 05.31.2008 10:39 AM

rootar 05.31.2008 12:09 PM

us cheap college kids like a 50/50 of captinmorgan and pepsi :) when people get wild the yager bombs start getting called on......but that usually never ends good for those who were bombing. like what was already said its a social lube just not good in volume. only people getting throwed are the ones bombing

johnrobholmes 05.31.2008 12:43 PM

I brew my own beers. Sake is good too, in various forms. For the hard stuff I have a friend that bootlegs some nasty paint stripper, and otherwise I like about anything that is mixed well. Jack and coke, crown and coke, Equal parts jack and lemon juice, all good.

TexasSP 05.31.2008 12:45 PM

Since I gave up partying many moons ago, I only drink to enjoy and usually only one or two. My problem wasn't necessarily alcohol but the other things I mixed with the alcohol.

Beer: I like Guinness Draft or Shiner Bohemian Black Lager
Liquor: Jack Daniels Single Barrel or Sauza Hornitos Tequila (smooth drinking, better than the rest in my opinion)

Soda: Dr Pepper is king, made in Texas, by Texans, for Texans! (but we share it with other people too)

as a hobby I uses to make my own beer a friend I used to make it with had a uncle who had his own hops farm in central washington state and we would use the Red Hook reciepe and the first batch we ever made turned out wrong but it was our best we ever did, tasted like a slightly watered down version of Guiness stout. We were never able to duplicate that batch though:cry:.
There was a funny story we hadnt bought a scale yet to weigh the hops s I brought some hops and ziplock baggies into the local Safeway and asked the girl in the deli if she could weigh them in 4oz increments and put them in the baggies for me...I got this shocked look and she said ( you are pretty brave bringing that in the store)...she thought it was marijuana and it could be mistakening for that.

Fast5sRevo88 05.31.2008 01:02 PM

I drink mixed drinks, Coke-Cola mixed with Dr. Pepper:lol:.
