New E-Maxx chassis

Don't know if anyone knows, or knew. But fastlane machine have just released a new extended chassis as well as the tranny case.
Check out http://www.fastlanemachine.com/Publi...9/Default.aspx
its only $90 and extends the maxx 35mm....

coolhandcountry 09.23.2005 02:53 PM

Another guy has a thread to on it. Just didn't have site. That is sweet looking. I wonder if mike is going to carry these.

maxxdude1234 09.23.2005 03:24 PM

I'm a little concerned as to how the batteries mount. There are no battery cups/bars/straps in that photo. Can't wait to see some high res pics of that chassis, it certainly looks very promising for the price.

coolhandcountry 09.23.2005 03:49 PM

I like the looks. I wonder what the weight is. Make me want to get one. Build me a all aluminum emaxx with fastlane parts.

MetalMan 09.23.2005 04:00 PM

It says in the description of the chassis that it includes battery "mounts". This chassis will give a lot of competition to the G-Maxx chassis!

coolhandcountry 09.23.2005 04:07 PM

I like the higher clearence for bashing around. The body will cover the batteries up to. I think it is pretty.

maxxdude1234 09.23.2005 04:19 PM

I hope it can support 7-8 cells flat for some seriously high cell counts. Unless is turns out to be a complete flop, I will probably buy one. Purely because of the extra 35mm, and the price, plus i reckon at 6mm thick its gotta be pretty sturdy.

coolhandcountry 09.23.2005 04:31 PM

The way the brace is under it makes it strong. Has the four mounting points per brace. I would be happy with 7 cell flat. It would look real nice with that new tranny on it.

coolhandcountry 09.23.2005 07:19 PM

I want to know if you can run 7cells flat on this chassis. Is there plans on making a regular length chassis to. I like the longer trucks but I also like the short ones in some ways to. I like to know more info on this. What about mounting the batteries?

Batfish 09.23.2005 08:25 PM

FYI for this thread:

Mike normally races on Friday nights, so don't expect a reply from him regarding this product until either very late tonight or sometime tomorrow morning.

coolhandcountry 09.23.2005 09:08 PM

I just working on my rides checking out some new stuff on the forum. Thanks batfish. I won't thinking about race night.I not in a hurry for answers any way. Have enough to keep me busy.

Batfish 09.23.2005 09:16 PM

I, however, am now re-thinking selling my E-Maxx :)
With this more economical chassis, I may just be able to afford the CVDs it also would need, heh.

Like I need another RC.

coolhandcountry 09.23.2005 09:20 PM

It is a good price. It looks strong to. I like that the braces are attached in the 4 points.

Maxxdude, If you look at the picture very close, there is a relief cut in the underside of the chassis.

Nick 09.24.2005 04:39 AM

Looks nice but heavy in comparison to the Gorilla.

Like the design though.

Sneeck 09.24.2005 05:20 AM

How can this chassis be a competitor to a gmaxx chassis? This is for basher's the gmaxx for racer's, the only thing that's competitive is the price.

nitrostarter 09.24.2005 10:28 AM

Agreed, but the G-Maxx, from what I've been told, is a very stout basher and can take a beating.

RC-Monster Mike 09.24.2005 12:17 PM

I am quite sure the FLM chassis will be super strong, and not terribly heavy, either. I am also quite sure it will hold a few cells as well. The CG won't be as low as the G-maxx, and it will likely be a touch heavier, but it should be an excellent basher chassis. I will get them in stock this week and check them out in person.

Sneeck 09.24.2005 01:09 PM

How about some more info about their new tranny? Can't beat it for that price.

Serum 09.25.2005 01:03 PM

What info do you want on that tranny Sneeck? The part you need for the 1 speed conversion is 40 dollars.

Sneeck 09.25.2005 01:16 PM

Is everything fit's nicely.

Serum 09.25.2005 01:22 PM

I will let you know as soon as i get mine.. You know i am very critical..

coolhandcountry 09.25.2005 04:21 PM

I want to hear what you think of them as well serum. I may have to get one as well.

maxxdude1234 10.02.2005 09:25 AM

Any update on how these chassis' performs? If anyone's got one, could they post a couple a pics of it - same with the new tranny cases. The pics on FLM websites are as good as useless.

Cheers

coolhandcountry 10.02.2005 10:48 AM

I got the order in on a tranny. I post some when I get it. Can't help on chassis. I would like to see some different angles on it as well.

coolhandcountry 10.16.2005 08:16 AM

Does any one know or have the weight of this and a stock chassis? I would like to know if there is any what difference and what it is?

Leroy

Serum 10.16.2005 02:57 PM

The weight of the stock chassis is out here somewhere, it's compared with a gmaxx CF chassis. George did post it himself.

coolhandcountry 10.25.2005 09:11 PM

Does any one have a weight on this chassis yet? I really like to know about a comprasion to stock. Please!

Does any one know if they planning on a stock length aluminum chassis as well? I would be more interested in that.

Basketti 10.26.2005 12:16 AM

im gonna order the chassis tonight, it takes 5 days to ship to me so when i get it i'll post pics if i can get my hands on my mates camera.

coolhandcountry 10.26.2005 07:36 AM

Okay dokey! Do you have a way to weight it? I am real curious on weight. Thanks basketti

Basketti 10.26.2005 05:05 PM

yeah i have some scales here, my mums scales she uses for baking lol! i'll weight it as soon as i get it and let ya know :)

coolhandcountry 10.26.2005 06:20 PM

Don't let the mum catch you. I like for you to stick around the forum some. :D But that would be great mate. Thanks!

emaxxman 11.18.2005 11:37 AM

Does anyone have an update on this? I'd like to hear about feedback on the chassis (build, weight, performance) and see pics if you have any.

Also, is there any kind of a lexan shield for the underside to keep dirt/mud from spraying everything?

Basketti 11.18.2005 05:10 PM

Mike has been working with flm and they are redesigning the chassis so that you can fit 8cells side by side. I ordered mine a while ago, so i've been waiting, but im sure it will be worth it when i get it :)

mmdooley 11.18.2005 05:57 PM

Hi all, I just got off the phone with fastlane and they told me the chassis would hold (8 cells) flat. and if you want a lower COG you could mount the battires on the bottom of the chassis. I have already bought the A-arms, Hidrids, shock towers. Next is the chassis and the 1/8 gears. With a full fastlane chassis you are set for life! I will be posting my before pictures soon. And continue as I build.

RC-Monster Mike 11.18.2005 07:06 PM

I think we have finalized the design(FLM) on the chassis, Jesse, so your chassis should be on its way pretty soon. 8 cells per side-top OR bottom), and it will comfortably hold stick packs and side by side packs. It does look a little different than the picture(had to make it a little wider), and I will get some pictures posted when I have them.
For bulletproof, UE is of course known for their durabilty, as well as their price. FLM is also excellent on durability, AND price. For 1/8 diffs, nearly any 1/8 buggy diff will fit the hybrid bulks(FLM) or VBS(UE), and this pretty much puts the diffs into the "set it and forget it" category in terms of durability.

Dooley...welcome to the forums! :)

mmdooley 11.18.2005 08:02 PM

Thanks, there seems to be some real nice folks here. I have learned a lot just reading. I look foward to many great discussions with yall.

Serum 11.18.2005 08:10 PM

I am curious about the way the batteries are mounted too! Shoot some pics, yes please.. :p

rhylsadar 11.23.2005 05:14 PM

hi
i am eager to see some pics too..... ;)
rhylsadar

Serum 11.23.2005 06:12 PM
