petewalford17 07.05.2008 08:31 AM

will a 22t pinyon be ok and spur be ok

e-mike 07.05.2008 08:34 AM

what is your spur...but a good settup i think for my experience is 22/68 with a 9xl:whip:on 4cell lipo

petewalford17 07.05.2008 08:35 AM

22/64

e-mike 07.05.2008 08:46 AM

try 22/66 for less heat:whip:

petewalford17 07.05.2008 08:47 AM

where can i get Feigao 9xl for best price

azjc 07.05.2008 09:51 AM

expect to pay about $80 for a 9XL and $125 for a Medusa 60/2000...the Medusa being a better design its a pretty good mid priced motor between a Feigao and a Neu

Mike has the medusa's at $115 and the feigao at $70

I Think the wanderer/feigao 9xl motors are longer and have more power right? I believe the shorter medusa is the equivalent of like an L. I know that a feigao 9xl does work perfect on 4s but you will want mikes heat sink motor clamp no matter which one you get.

you right on the legth difference the XL can is 74mm and the Medusa is 60mm, but the deisgn the Medusa is better, also you could wait when Medusa releases the 70mm can which has been said to be August

I run the Medusa 2000 in my Erevo and it's much better then the 8xl in my maxx. It's got more power and runs cooler on higher gearing.By the time you add the heat sink there's not much difference in price.

petewalford17 07.05.2008 01:13 PM

ive got rc monster clamp and 7xl is the 9xl ok or the madusa beter then the 7xl so should i keep my motor or change it i would keep it if i could get the gearing right but if i got a lower kv motor would i get the performance still.

asheck 07.05.2008 01:21 PM

I can only tell you from my experience with the 8.But going from that I would think it would still outperform the 7.I would consider it a big downgrade to go to a 9xl.

petewalford17 07.05.2008 01:23 PM

so should i go with the 8xl or keep my 7xl

thank you

asheck 07.05.2008 01:29 PM

Well the performance is gonna cost heat. But there's not going to be huge differences in the 2 motors.Either will get hot and it will be up to you to control that.

petewalford17 07.05.2008 01:31 PM

i will keep the 7xl

coolrunnings 07.06.2008 11:31 AM

Go with the 8XL...the 7 pulls to many amps and will puff up your battery (I know from experience) and the 9xl might not be fast enough to impress all the speed demens out there...so the 8XL is the only logical choice (for 4s).

coolrunnings 07.06.2008 11:43 AM

O yea one more thing there is a very big difference between a 7xl and an 8xl the 7 is 2400kv and the 8 is 2100kv...the 7 runs way way to hot (around 195 deg) hot enough to demagnetize your motor and trash your pack...ask mike cronin what he would do...he will tell you to get the 8xl!
