Proud parents…

My boy is going to the Junior Olympics & maybe my daughter (?)

The boy has qualified for his 4th appearance at the JO this year and will be swimming in 4 events, his best event is the 400m freestyle. He’s ranked 14th in the nation in his age group, and still thinks girls are yucky!..:yipi:  . (aaaa youth)…

My daughter AKA “puplet” has been trying her best at the qualifiers and we should know by Friday if she’s going to make the team, she needs to takes three hundreds of a second off here time and she'll make the team, if she does shell be swimming the 100m butterfly at her first JO..

The race is being held early August wish us luck…

P.S.
Got to the love the kid factor…

I haven't actually moved in yet. I'll be moving in on the 19th. I have met one neighbor though and she was really cool. She had a kid that's my daughter's age, so hopefully they'll get along well.

TDC57 07.08.2008 02:13 PM

Wow I bet you cant wait.. How exciting for you and your family.. That's great..

Best of luck again on your new and exciting life..

DRIFT_BUGGY 07.08.2008 05:11 PM

That's excellent. Is that your son in your avatar?

TDC57 07.08.2008 08:04 PM

Yes that's my boy in my avatar with his first quad, he was 10 in that picture, not much has changed in two years.

Thanks for the words of encouragement gentlemen; I'm going to let him read this post later tonight.

Thanks for your time and have a great one

lutach 07.08.2008 08:24 PM

That's great. I'll be watching this and hopefully just hopefully you can send me some autographed pictures of them . My daughter was invited for the Special Olympics, but I think she's too young.

TDC57 07.08.2008 08:45 PM

Thank you for the kid words Lutch, the kids will love this one and if and when they ever go to the real "O" I’ll have them both sign up something and send it write over..

P.S.
How old is your Daughter (6) I think, the last time a saw here was in you’re / her singing Video, what event would she do if allowed (??).. I can tell you from past experiences it’s extremely stressful experience on the kids, more so on the parents thou, I’ve seen a few kids mom’s and dad’s get the boot when their emotions got the better or them.. Me, piece of cake, I just sit there and cheer, the kid does all the work, win lose or draw don’t care, it the experience I want them to enjoy.

Sorry for the ramble,

Thanks for your time and your comments..

Have a great day Sir..

Shaun.

I'll be knocking on your door if you don't send me that picturer w/ autograph . Just joking. I really don't want my daughter to do any sports. She's only 7 (Her Bday is on Vday). She's very hyper active and she can run forever if I let her. The lady that I spoke with wanted to put her in a track & field event. She's an awesome soccer player. She loves volleyball and guess what else, F1. Those were the sports I did (Soccer, Volleyball and karts). I always tell my daughter to have fun. I enjoyed sports for the sport and didn't care if I won or lost. I'm teaching my daughter how important it is to have fun while doing a sport. I will let her get older and when she can decide what she wants to do, I'll be behind her 100%. It would be awesome to see our kids represent in the Olympics. The only thing is that my daughter loves Brasil and she can actually choose which country she wants to e part of in the Olympics.

MetalMan 07.08.2008 11:38 PM

Heh, my sister actually happens to be a pro swimmer. She too went to JOs several times, and has done quite well. She's a sprinter, though, and the 50m/yd. freestyle is her specialty.

What team do your kids swim for?

jnev 07.08.2008 11:54 PM

Congrats to you and your kids Shawn! Thats quite a feat.

George16 07.09.2008 01:58 AM

Congrats!!!! You and your wife are very fortunate for having kids like them. It speaks well of how you brought them up :party:.

On another note my son (8 years old) decided to take swimming lessons instead of running the trucks with me so I had been going to the pool with him lately. He's still mad at me once in a while because there are no go kart races here in Japan which is close to us. He use to race go karts locally when we were in the U.S.

TDC57 07.15.2008 06:13 PM

Thats great news Shaun, CONGRATS :great: Just make sure when they grow up and are in the real Olympics, they stay behind the Aussie's  j/k

VintageMA 07.15.2008 09:50 PM

Awesome - congrats. I remember many moons ago I was close to qualifying for the JO in the 100m and 200m breaststroke but just couldn't get my times low enough. That's gotta be a great feeling.

JOEX 07.15.2008 10:31 PM

Congrats!:yipi:
