Good to see that your getting yet another one of your dream vehicles! lol

Hope you have good luck with this build.

Takedown 07.11.2008 01:48 AM

Thanks PB. I sure hope that it gets here quick because you know how I am with patients...

DRIFT_BUGGY 07.11.2008 06:09 AM

Nice choice, keep us updated

ilpufxit 07.11.2008 08:46 AM

So you're a doctor huh? How do you find the patience to deal with patients at all?

brushlessboy16 07.11.2008 10:04 AM

uh one thing, on the calculator, your spur and pinion values are swapped...

brushlessboy16 07.11.2008 10:13 AM

Looks like you need a 12t pinion to go 45

Takedown 07.11.2008 10:15 AM

Yep just fixed it Ben. Ilpufxit, I meant patients as in not being patient...

skellyo 07.11.2008 10:19 AM

You do realize your tire size values in the speed calculator are way off, right?

Buggy tires are typically 4.5-4.6" in diameter and there is no way you'll balloon buggy tires 0.9" in radius without ripping them off the wheels first.

That would be patience....not patients.

Yeah, and you also used 43 as the diff ratio instead of 3.3. Are you sure your buggy tires will end up being 7.1" in diameter?

Hmm, should have refreshed this page before posting, missed 4 posts.

brushlessboy16 07.11.2008 10:24 AM

yeah most buggy tires are 4.9 ish mine were 4.6

and 2 inches taller cuz of balooning? doubt that

Takedown 07.11.2008 10:26 AM

Skellyo, I dont use the calc much so and i've never had a 1/8 buggy so the tire size was just an estimate by me. This is actually the first time Ive used it in one of my builds. BTW its fixed...

Takedown 07.11.2008 10:28 AM

I think everything is fixed now. Am I correct?

brushlessboy16 07.11.2008 10:29 AM

thats why there are presets....

Takedown 07.11.2008 10:32 AM

Again Ben it was a few mistakes that are now fixed, no need to make such a seen out of it. Anyways Im going to shoot the guy the money when I get back at noon today and Ill let you guys know what happends. Also once its shipped Ill let you guys know to.

skellyo 07.11.2008 10:33 AM

I don't think you'll be able to gear it that high without excess heat, but it may live for a few speeds run like that. I think something closer to a 12:1 FDR would be better.

Takedown 07.11.2008 10:35 AM

Skellyo, How do you think 11/47 gearing would do?

I think you'd be good with a 13T pinion. It puts it at right around 12:1 FDR and speed with ballooning is ~50mph.

BL_RV0 07.11.2008 12:17 PM

Now we both have a buggy and a truggy! Cool! But I thought you saud you hated buggies.....???

Takedown 07.11.2008 12:41 PM

I never said I hated them. I said that I disliked them but hey the 8ight and the MBX5 series designs are the only buggy/truggy layouts I dont infact like so i said to myself I might aswell give a shot at trying out a 1/8 buggy.

BL_RV0 07.11.2008 12:49 PM

Nice.

Takedown 07.11.2008 01:26 PM

I think I found what I'd like to run in it aswell "6s lipo"- http://www.impaktrc.com/product_info...oducts_id=2456

Takedown 07.11.2008 05:30 PM

Update: 07/11/08 & 4:30pm

Just sent the guy the money via paypal. Should be here tuesday or wednesday next week. Ill let you guys know if anything new happends.

big greg 07.11.2008 05:37 PM

your gonna like that buggy, i just got a 1512 1.5d to run in mine, its already fast!

brushlessboy16 07.11.2008 05:38 PM

come join us Ryan!!!! BE ONE OF US your gonna love the buggy

Takedown 07.11.2008 05:39 PM

Nice greg! Is the 1512 powerful enough to propel it past 40mph on 5s-6s without getting hot? I really have my eyes set on the Mega 22/45/2...

Sweet, let us know how that motor runs. Well in the safe zone as you will be running around 30 000rpm

Takedown 07.11.2008 05:40 PM

Ill join once I get it but not till then.

Ya I didnt want to pop over 40k rpms because Ive hear the sweetspot for most brushless motors is around 35-40k rpms. I really hope 1400kv will be enough on 6s though...

big greg 07.11.2008 05:48 PM

well the 1.5d is 3300 kv! so i will be spinning at like 47000 i think, geared 11/48 it will hit 46 easy, temps stay around 145 motor, 150 speedo

Takedown 07.11.2008 05:55 PM

Not bad, What weight diff grease are you using in all three diffs and can it wheelie with a center diff for you?

big greg 07.11.2008 05:58 PM

you know what i got the roller used, never had any of the diffs out, wheelies like crazy tho, theres prolly 30k in there, feels like it, i put the 1515 1y in there for the time being, mm is at castle for it, from my truggy, its insane! with a blip of the throttle i clear the triple here and then some!

Takedown 07.11.2008 06:03 PM

I sure hope the 22/45/2 will preform just as well.

big greg 07.11.2008 06:05 PM

i would like to here about it, i got the 1.5d from a guy i race with for 150$ with ten races on it, an amazing deal, i just gotta get another pinion now lol, i love supporting mike!

Takedown 07.11.2008 06:08 PM

Wow, that is a great deal! If I was their I woulda beat you to it.

big greg 07.11.2008 06:11 PM

yup thats what i was in a hurry to sell the medusa for, he listed it on rctech, i pmed him and he gave me a lower price cause he thinks im cute, lol jk, but ya for a little over what i paid for a medusa i got a hell of a motor

Pedebeater 07.11.2008 06:12 PM

Good luck Man. You should have it by the time I get back from NY. Awsome!

Running a 1.5D on 6S would make 73260rpm, 5S 61050, 4S 48840. 150F for a speedo is abit on the high side

Takedown 07.11.2008 06:13 PM

Nice! I havent got the guts to spend money on a Neu motor yet. Just to out of my price range...
