CC how about a custom MMM case?
one that can be bolted to the chassis with shock mounts or something.
tape is not the hot set up. i would pay extra :-) maybe fancy color choises LOL or a sideways mount so dirt wouldnt fall into the fan as much. water cooling would be nice too. i drilled and tapped my chassis. then taped the mmm to a piece of carbon fibre. bolted the carbon to the chassis and then ran a wire tie around it all so when the tape gives up the ghost i can finish the race. Plus i can unscrew it for cleaning. so a case with ears and rubber gromets woud be hot. |
good ideas..maybe someone is listening....
|
How about a dye-able case (white?) with mounting ears and rubber grommets...

oh yea! like the pink cell phone cover my daughter wants.
i just dont trust tape for any length of time. oh! an upside down mount that makes the chassis the heat sink.... can u see i'm bored at work today:-) |

Anyway, mounting ears are a good idea. I only have about 8K cases made at this point -- we'll look at modding the mold. No guarantees -- but we'll look at it. |
This is basically what I asked for on the other thread regarding a special edition. I just want a more secure way to mount the ESC. It would be nice to be able to screw the case directly to the chassis or ESC mount instead of relying on tap and zip ties.

dont waste your 8K cases already made. just make options like xray does:-)
liquid cooling would be more durable? no? no mechanical moving parts. fluid moves by convection from a radiator to the heat sink? could cool motor also. cost maybe 100 bucks more? when do i send you money:-) im realy bored today...... ( AND THANKS FOR REPLYS!) |
Liquid cooling less moving parts? Convection would not move enough heat... You would need a reservoir, radiator and pump... More stuff to break....
You could use heat pipes to a larger heat sink but more to break IMO. Just need a different case design with different mounting options - Missionary etc |
IMO the only reason you would want different colors for your ESC is if it was a shelf queen.......a radiator for an rc? sounds like the supercharger that they came out for nitros.....sounds like scam potential.....lol
|
Ok, while we're at it, how about a heatsink that's just a slab of aluminum with screw taps in it? Then, we can add any heatsink, heatpipe, liquid nitrogen setup we want.

Hey - come on - anything is possible.
Only things I am waiting on before I get back into nitro is electronic ignition, variable valve timing, 4-stroke engine, with self-tuning on board processor. I'd add direct injection fuel system but I dont want to push it too far. |
reverse cowgirl mounting. Now that is an ESC i want. I can see it now.

i like the cow girl thing. ye ha!!!!!! |
Each monster max should be secured in a japanese beetle cage and come with its own radiator, pump and copper tubing LINK
and perhaps a light cool misting option for inbetween races to freshen up the sparkles on the ©Monster Paris Hilton edition rhinestone case® . http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...32/bugcage.jpg http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...2/radiator.gif http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/k...tonephone2.jpg |
I got mine velcro'd down and then a zip tie around it
|
That cooling system is really cool - I sent them an e-mail to get more info of the viability and ruggedness of the system in an off-road vehicle. :intello:

While were at it, why not chameleon paint http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/8...exampleye2.jpg http://www.marchioautobody.com/graph...quin-paint.jpg |
Here is another thread that I was not responsible for ruining....
|
I used super strong velcro to mount my MMM, only trouble is when I went to remove it the bottom half of the esc case stayed on the truck... :/
Now I have a ziptie around the case, and the velcro as before, works fine. I wouldnt mind mounting ears, but its no biggie to me personally- I just wouldnt mind a case that was the same as it is now, but minus the built in fan housing in the upper portion. Instead, have a flat area with a grill, so that a larger 30-40mm fan can be mounted ontop of the case. Maybe make it an optional case so that there is no warrenty issue with people not using a fan- buy the optional case and the warrenty is stricter or something. |

I'm really taken by the fact that the president of a company this big is HERE and listening to his customers  Not just listening, but interacting... I'm stoked.:intello: Proud/happy to have supported this company and will continue to do so... mamba25/5400 Sidewinder micro Mamba Monster...(i'll get it back soon...fingers crossed) Sidewinder/4600 combo more to come... perhaps a 5 cell mamba max pro? :yipi: 8 or 12 cell MMM? anyway... Thanks again Patrick! :great: |

I like the idea of mounting tabs. I though my esc was secure until I took my e-revo to the track and it came out after messing up a triple.
|
yea seems the MM works with tape but the mmm is just one m too much for the tape..
|
all I use is zip ties to secure the ESCs in my RCs and I have never had a problem
|
velcro on the base and then them velcro wire organizer straps to keep it all secure but yet easy to remove.

Some great idea guys and thank you Patrick for at least humoring us :D |
btw: is it possible to buy an extra case? (Just the casing)
|
I asked the same thing a while back and was told it was not possible by whoever answered the phone at CC. Hopefully they change their mind on this.
