This will be great as long as the monster class has rules and a wheely king with TC tires doesn't count as a monster!

aqwut 07.26.2008 11:15 PM

That would be awesome, but no more vacation time... and no more cash... :)

Nic Case 07.26.2008 11:25 PM

Can a Monster Truck go ---- 100mph?

Good Point -- TexasSP
These are the rules/ that I can recall ;
http://www.fast-rc.co.uk/forum/index.php?page=16

-------------------------------------------------------

Monster Truck Class

Vehicles are classified Monster Truck if they meet the following criteria
· Any monster truck based kit. Tires must be a minimum diameter of 130mm and 70mm wide
· No foam tires allowed. No sidewall limit
· Bodyshell must be identified as truck (Stadium, Pickup or SUV are permitted).
· Bodyshell must not cover the wheels
· Car must be programmed to stop in the event of a signal loss

-------------------------------------------------------------

***The point is to have a true Monster Truck hold a Monster Truck record***
Since RC Car Action does not "own" this event -- Reasonable rules --- can be put in place.

Nic Case 07.27.2008 10:52 AM

I wounder,can a Monster Truck can go 100mph......?
or

or
70.7?-----------------------------Check this out http://youtube.com/watch?v=cK7J1w4TYfA

You guys Certainly have the Horsepower.

MaxxFreak 07.27.2008 06:57 PM

I wonder what is the current record for monster truck speed is? just to have an idea and a target for my build. In what cell counts? with which truck?

TexasSP 07.27.2008 07:31 PM

Technically it's in a wheely king........

However the real record is 70 something in an e-maxx.

tc3_racer_001 07.27.2008 08:03 PM

a wheelie king WITH ALMOST NOTHING LEFT... like the frame wasnt exactly stock and the wheels and body were interesting monster truck wheels.... its completely useless as a truck. thats the beauty of making a super speed truck, u can usually use it year round with a slightly more reliable/practical setup!

MTBikerTim 07.27.2008 08:19 PM

Forget last time. Who was it that was running those big MTs at 80mph on the gps before.

Nic Case 07.28.2008 09:26 AM

MTBikerTim
80 mph with a Monster Truck!
Who was that? It you be very cool to see the 'data" sheet......

tc3_racer_001
One way or another-- the 72.97mph will fall. ROSSA is trying to make sure the the "wheelie king thing" doesn't happen. --- I believe it's possible to take a "stock" MT kit, gear it up (maybe zip-tie the suspension) and go out and break the record.

MaxxFreak
No cell count limit - but I think 6s is enough to go very fast.....

brushlessboy16 07.28.2008 09:28 AM

one word...

YIKES

TexasSP 07.28.2008 10:38 PM

1:1 pinion to spur, but the pinion is the spur, or the spur the pinion! Wild!

BTW, what motor is that?

Nic Case 07.28.2008 10:43 PM

1509 2y ------- yeah baby!
Set-up
4wd car- Geared (75s x 81p)with a 2.5 transmission------ 2.5 “ dia.tires on 8s= 134mph!
Small motor that kicks but...

brushlessboy16 07.28.2008 11:04 PM

yikes is for that giant motor and outrageous gearing

Nic Case 07.28.2008 11:58 PM

The Purple chassis has a 1521 in it------- never ran it in that car........
But , the gearing-------- that's pretty much all you gotta do, switch the pinon with the spur--------LOL

Seriously--------- of coarse, there's a little more to it than that...

[QUOTE=Nic Case;195771]Check this crazy Brit out...............
http://lincit.myzen.co.uk/modellinc/...showtopic=2808

A mate just found this so it thought i would say thanks :) i think lol. It only managed 74.6mph with standard gearing and a 22t bell but not bad for a single engined basher lol :) i reckon i could get 80 now it has done over a gallon but the ramps are it's calling  . Oh yeah and good luck in this years speed challenge

lutach 07.30.2008 10:35 AM

I'll sure be watching what you guys will be coming up with. Any new vehicles you planning on taking to the event Nic?

ziggy12345 07.30.2008 01:33 PM

Hiya Mel

You need to enter that wicked buggy of yours in the event. Take a look at the site www.fast-rc.co.uk

Cheers

Mel 07.30.2008 02:12 PM

thanks mate i was thinking about it but i don't really want to change it too much because 99% of its life is going to be flying off ramps lol but Chris mentioned about the open class but im never going to be able to compete against the guys with more engines. i could change the gearing but i don't know much about that so i will probably have to keep bugging Chris lol

ziggy12345 07.30.2008 02:35 PM

There is the IC open class for multiple engines and there is the Open Wheel class for buggies and truggies with single engines...

As there is only 1 entry in the Open Wheel class you would have a good chance of winning it.

You also get a hat if you top 100mph!!

Cheers

Mel 07.30.2008 02:42 PM

that sounds allot more doable lol, im meeting up with Chris soon so i might see what he thinks i can do without without making any extra holes in the chassis lol :)
