that kind of reminds me of the ue set back arms. That is pretty neat. Where you find all this neat stuff.

squeeforever 10.23.2005 10:10 PM

were did you find them and who makes them?

rchippie 10.24.2005 12:46 AM

they are made by TRAXXAS.

Dafni 10.24.2005 02:18 AM

Are they available yet?

If yes, Mike, you know what to do! ;)

nbcaznmaster 10.24.2005 06:28 AM

hmm, i wonder if u can use a pullstart now on a BIg blcok kit since the a-arms are further back!

Papa 10.24.2005 08:31 AM

Rumorr has it, there is a Traxxas center diff conversion for the Revo using some Jato parts in the works.

Dafni 10.24.2005 08:47 AM

Where have you heard this rumor??

Papa 10.24.2005 08:52 AM

Ahhh......I am sworn to secrecy.... If I reveal my source, I would have to shoot you.:L:

Dafni 10.24.2005 09:03 AM

Nevermind.

crazyjr 10.24.2005 09:12 AM

I don't think that Jato parts would hold up against a Revo driveline. I hope i'm wrong, but i don't think so

Papa 10.24.2005 09:16 AM

Guys, its just what I heard from the editor of a popular R/C magazine. ;)

Nick 10.24.2005 09:17 AM

Same thing they did to Maxx, made larger arms, then eventually included the longer arms in the new models.

Serum 10.24.2005 05:28 PM

Okay, now you need to shoot Daniel.. I will get after you if you do Papa.. :p

Papa 10.24.2005 05:30 PM

I DID NOT NAME MY CONFIDENTIAL SOURCE.:L:

nbcaznmaster 10.24.2005 07:13 PM

I'll take the bullet! Its to hard to resist!!

Papa 10.24.2005 07:21 PM

Tempting offer NBC....

nbcaznmaster 10.24.2005 07:25 PM

before you do! i want u to bury me with a bl system! so that i might race GOD! but i bet he wont be able to beat me! Hes using nitro thats why there are so many clouds! they are nitro fumes! He cannot beat teh power of brushless!!! lol

crazyjr 10.24.2005 07:38 PM

Hahahahaha y'all are too much hahah

RC-Monster Mike 10.24.2005 08:11 PM

These arms aren't available yet as far as I know, but I have them on back order at my distributors.
I think it would be interesting if Traxxas made a center diff conversion, though I will believe it when I see it. If they do, it will likely be for the nitro tranny, so the Jato parts would likely hold up pretty decent.

is there any affect on the suspension geometry or any affect on the driveshafts?

crazyjr 10.24.2005 08:50 PM

I wasn't calling anybody a liar or saying BC. I've looked at my jato diff and it's small, so while it does good in a ST, i just don't think it will handle the roughly the 2.5 times the weight of an MT. I hope i'm wrong, but those gears in the diff are so small that i don't think so.

coolhandcountry 10.24.2005 08:57 PM

It is taking less punishment in the center. It is only taking the torque of the motor times the ratio of tranny and spur pinion. while the rears take the punishment of that times the diffs. if the motor puts out 20oz of torque with a 1.72 tranny and a 3.2 spur pinion ratio. the center diffwould only have 110.8 oz of torque applied. If you figure the diffs would have another 3.31 on top of that 366ozs of torque on them. Hope this helps.

crazyjr 10.24.2005 11:05 PM

Good point, but i would not want to try a big block.

nbcaznmaster 10.25.2005 06:20 AM

hmm, how you gunna be able to fit all the stuff in the middle?

Serum 10.25.2005 12:46 PM

Ncabz.. offering to be shot.. How do you know a BL setup is so powerfull?? you never had one, except for the tiny micro mamba... Somebody stop me from teasing ncabznmstrbator

Sneeck 10.25.2005 01:04 PM

On the ue site there was some guy claiming to have spoking to some other guy at traxxas which said there might be a revo center diff conversion using jato part's. We will see. I'm pretty positive that little diff can't take bl power.

Why? It's fun to watch:L:

<<<<<<< Guilty

Its way to easy.:L: And you are sooo gentle.:p However it does clutter up the threads: :W:

RC-Monster Mike 10.25.2005 10:47 PM

The Jato spider gears are the same as the Revo spider gears, just with a smaller axle for the drive cup. I wouldn't necessarily put it in a heavyweight truck, but I bet it would hold up for a bit.

crazyjr 10.25.2005 11:30 PM

They look smaller to me, but i didn't have them side by side, soooo maybe.

Dafni 10.26.2005 01:47 AM

I want an 8th scale buggy diff in the center, and maybe even in the f/r one fine day!

squeeforever 10.26.2005 08:03 PM

isnt fastlane supposed to be working on a bulkless conversion for the revo that uses 1/8 diffs?

crazyjr 10.28.2005 10:37 PM

Hey guys. I just took my diffs apart for the Jato and Revo. There is no way it will work. The internal gears appear to be the same size, but look a little different. The main gear is totaly different pitch, probably .8 metric/32 pitchand the bearings on the Jato diff are too big to fit in existing Revo gearbox. It would be too much work to make this worthwhile.

I think Traxxas does have something up their sleeves, but a diff using Jato parts, I doubt it.I think they're sending you on a snipe hunt:p
