Mgm Compro 160 problem

Hey gusy, im sitting here with eovnu87435ds who just got a hyper 7 with a MGM 160 and an 8xl.. problem is that the esc does not recognize throttle inputs from the controller, it sits for 10 seconds then beeps indefinately... epa of the radio is at 100% and have tried reversing the throttle channel but to no avail.

Could be the "over/under voltage" beep, or more likely the "no signal" beep. Did you try another reciever?

yes, we tried
-reversed throttle channel
Standard throttle channel
different end points
a receiver pack
without a receiver pack
receiver gets signal

we tried everything.. to no avail

Guy who sold him the car is giving him a quark 125B in exchange for the defective esc.:yipi:

Well that's good! Does the MGM look beat up? Maybe the signal wire of the Rx harness broke off of the board.(?)

Doesn't answer the question - If you power up the esc are you getting 5-6v on the red wire?

Set the throttle and brake EPA to 125% or max and if your using a spectrum rx plug a rx pack in until you complete the initial setup. Once that is done you can run the rx off the mgm.

Tried it. did not work

if you are not getting 5v it may be opto - you could try leaving the red wire in and using a rx pack...

not going to risk that.. knowing my luck it WILL have a bec and ill fry it- then owe my freind a $250 esc.

original owner says it has BEC, it says "mega bec" on the case so that leads me to beleive it does..and its fried:yes:

Send it back to the Czech Republic for repair. My average wait for my MGM repairs was about 3 months door to door.

This might be a stupid question since i dont know alot about this stuff since im just getting into electric.
Is the voltage on the esc set right 2s,3s,4s,5s
my mgm did the same thing till it was set on the right voltage for the battery
