mmmv3 success or not?yes another tread!

so after 1 month i can say that the v3 is a great esc(after 6 hours of hard street bashing)on both of my v3 (sometimes the esc was completely out of is case at the end of my run:surprised:)...but what about you guy's...as i read only 5 units failed...we can statuate that cc as definitively made a reliable esc:yes:....for less than 180$ im sold....:whistle:the mmmv3 joined the rows of the mamba max reliable esc:whip:

well this what i think:rules:...so i will not afraid to buy a e-revo bl-edition with the mmmv3 inside:mdr:

Silver_Flame101 11.23.2008 04:49 PM

That is a very good thing to hear. But why would you need to buy the Traxxas Brushless Edition if you basically already have one? Unless you were going to buy it for me of course, I'm fine with that.....

E-Revonut 11.23.2008 05:38 PM

Been running mine on 5+6s for almost 2 weeks now. Very smooth start up. This esc allows amazing amounts of power!

DRIFT_BUGGY 11.24.2008 05:19 AM

Success

DickyT 11.24.2008 10:02 AM

Success! Mine broke free from it's mount yesterday at the track. When my lvc kicked in and brought the buggy into the pits I was surprised to see my MMM loose and free to bounce around as my buggy turned laps of a bumpy, jumpy course. I resecured it and still going strong.

transtalon 11.24.2008 10:16 AM

Mmm V3

Mine is still working just like the day I got it. Congrats to Castle for making the changes to have a reliable and affordable ESC.

emaxxnitro 11.24.2008 10:27 AM

very good Esc this time. My 1st v3 died. But #2 is going strong! It is in my 80 mph rustler now

asheck 11.24.2008 10:28 AM

They need to start a V3 poll. That way they can see what a great success they have.

Sparky 11.24.2008 11:14 AM

I have over 4 hours of hard racing on my V3 MMM. I think the V3 is going to hold up!

captain harlock 11.24.2008 11:20 AM

Well, is it available at stores, now?

I've got the v2, but I haven't tried it out yet. It just gives me the creeps to think about it.

LightningTC 11.25.2008 01:25 AM

Well I have 2 a v3 and a v2 that is flashed. I havent ran the v3 yet. The v2 that is flashed is perfect. Its taking everything I can throw at it. It works perfect!
GREAT JOB CASTLE!! The mamba monster is a killer esc!

jnev 11.25.2008 03:35 AM

I have one V1, one V2, and one V3 all with the new firmware, and they are all going strong. :great:

e-mike 11.25.2008 07:23 AM

so i decide to test(hard test)my esc..i put a hold tire on my truck and pushing my revo against the wall...just apply a little trotle..i seee that its very diffucult for the esc to spin the motor i dont apply more trotle just for he wheel spin slowly (im always against the wall)...the esc fan come to life early:yes:(155f after 5 min) than i stop it....to hard for the esc:whip:

after that all my unit run flawlessly..but my v1 unit run cooler dur to the fan who alway spin....

kulangflow 11.25.2008 03:44 PM

My V2 with the new firmware and V3 case is working like a champ on 4s, 5s and 6s with a 1515/1y geared 24/65 in an E-Revo.

finfin 11.25.2008 10:03 PM

5 hours up in Maxx
Feigao 7XL-8XL
A123 6s2p
gear 62t/20t
still running but dunno when it will dead like V.1

hemiblas 11.25.2008 10:38 PM

My V3 is holding up great. I have a couple of 8000mah battery packs though it, but I have run it about 6 times. It has seen some flips, hits, starts, stops and still going strong. Thanks.

Edumakated 11.26.2008 12:19 AM

My v3 is holding up great. I got 12 full packs through it during practice days plus a full race day and it is still going strong... even the fan! I don't think I have seen temps over 120 on it

MTBikerTim 11.26.2008 01:34 AM

I have been running the crap out of mine. 6s with an 11xl in a 6kg savage. Two fans on the motor to keep it cool. The fan on the esc comes on but the temp gun only says the esc is at 100f. I'm sure the esc is probably warmer though. I have now taped my tires so I will see if that lessens the load a bit.

123revo 11.26.2008 09:20 AM

success.... however one lunched and shredded reverse output gear, damn glitching reverse servo. all good now FOC. i guess its time to play "so what will break next"

happy happy :P

Shark413 11.26.2008 03:51 PM

About 10 runs so far, with 2 broken diffs :)

Rnemhrd 11.27.2008 09:25 PM

v3 dead 10 min. Esc temp at the time of death 76f.Castle link will still work though.

DickyT 11.28.2008 07:17 PM

I put another 8 packs through it today bringing the hours of use just over 40.

DRIFT_BUGGY 11.28.2008 07:56 PM

Far out, wish I had that much time on my hands to use my buggy

Edit: Yesterday at the lhs they had 2 v2s and offered me a deal so good I had to take one.:neutral:With castles CS what the heck right. So while installing it I looked at the v3 and for some stupid reason pluged it in and the damn thing armed and worked on the bench. :surprised: I still need to run it though.

captain harlock 11.29.2008 03:35 PM

May I ask how many people are using MMM V2 with 1.20 firmware?

How's it going so far?

I've just downloaded version 1.20, but I'm a bit reluctant about using it.

Problem for Al is that he is in saudi arabia and it would take a very long time for shipping and be very costly. I would sell the v2 and buy a v3.

captain harlock 11.30.2008 12:43 AM

That's right.

This is why I feel stranded between a rock and a hard place.

slimthelineman 11.30.2008 02:06 AM

would like to say both of my v3's have preformed flawlessly. the first one even had a componet rattle off the pcb (TVS im told) and still ran like a champ until i noticed it when i got home and cleaned the car!

Unless running the standard fan with only 3 blades is a mod. Before updating to the new firmware I was running a external bec but now it is basically standard, even with the V1 case

asheck 11.30.2008 10:15 AM

I was assured by Thomas at CC that the updated v2 will be fine.I have about 10 packs through mine, most 6s and it has done fine.I changed the case and firmware, what a difference.

Rnemhrd 11.30.2008 12:20 PM

I can see the v2, v3 case difference, is the case change needed and will castle send you one or do they need to change it? Also I ran the v2 I have with the 1.20 programing and it ran well. at around 70 the fan comes on and off as needed. Very smooth and the truck had much more power then with the mm. I still need to run my v3 to see if it is ok. But again is the case change needed???

e-mike 11.30.2008 12:33 PM

so i have 7 mmmv3 and all of them run flawlessly...in the snow:whistle::yes:

phatmonk 12.03.2008 07:30 PM

In the snow? Our snow here is sloppy wet.Not gonna ruin my MMMv3 or am I?

e-mike 12.03.2008 08:06 PM

in a baggies bag....the mmmv3:yes::whistle:so after many run....i noticed that the v3 run woooter compared to the v2 or v1(for the v1 i know the fan spin continusly)...why.....and if the FETS are not all sticked on the heatsink....(some fets does'nt have the thermal ceramic glue)so they dont toucht to the heatsink.....could it be the reason why the v3 run hoter????
