I've seen a couple vids of insane heli flight, can't find the link on one, but here's an electric: http://www.helihobby.com/videos/hornet2_3d_2004_01.wmv

JOHNNYMAXXIMA 12.03.2005 04:22 AM

Both those guys are insane! I'd have to give the nod to the first guy though. Best flying I've ever seen.
I've actually had my heli fly like that before................only because the wind got ahold of it from about 40 feet high and I had no control over it and smashed it straight into the ground!

squeeforever 12.03.2005 12:08 PM

thats just plain insane. makes me want one.

Hey, Is that the latest recruiting video for the military:L: Or a new thrill ride at the theme park?

Man, I feel some retail therapy comming on.

nbcaznmaster 12.03.2005 01:43 PM

we all need therapy here! Mike has his own private thearpists that he lets teh members use!~

R00ST 12.09.2005 06:55 PM

Those helis can do some amazing stuff! I dont even try flying my buddies as I know what the results would be...lol

tyrewq 12.09.2005 08:19 PM

that was awesome. didn't know helis could do that. is it more of the good gyro board or the skill of the flyer that enabled that?

R00ST 12.09.2005 08:20 PM

That be skills!

Well i just discovered something.. I think that actually IS Mike, wearing a dress.. Awfull deep voice for a woman too..

kulangflow 12.10.2005 12:31 PM

Is anyone else dizzy after that first video?

I had to walk away from my PC for a minute.

$w!ft 12.10.2005 02:32 PM

how do they do that?

MetalMan 12.10.2005 02:51 PM

Intense thumb-eye coordination :o. I believe they also control things like blade pitch angle to do things like take off quickly (at the beginning) and to fly upside down. I can tell you guys first-hand how hard that must be. I haven't even gotten my nitro heli in the air hovering for more than 10secs (after many sets of broken rotor blades)!

R00ST 12.10.2005 03:00 PM

yes it is with blade pitch. Usually there is a stunt mode switch, which allows you to rev up the engine, then change the pitch so it gets lift, get it upside and hit the switch and it launches up. (hard to explain! lol)

MetalMan 12.10.2005 03:27 PM

When I saw the vid, I could only think about how much stress the blade pitch servo would be under on that first takeoff!
