LST2 Conversion "Budget & Powerful"
Well guys I decided to abort the lst2 4-stroke conversion because of clutch mounting issues and decided to go brushless instead. My setup will be the following...
ESC- BidProducts 125-150a 7s Motor- KB45 8xl Battery- Four 3s 2800mah 30c packs "Two 2800mah packs in parallel which makes a 5600mah 3s 30c which will be paired in series with another Two 2800mah 30c packs wired in parallel to make a 5600mah 3s 30c to make a 5600mah 30c 6s pack." Hope you guys could understand that. Ill see if I can get some new pics up once I get home. |
Heres the mount Ben mocked up for me. Looks great!

ygpm.
Mount is made for as a universal mount for the kb45 or equivelant motor with a 6mm shaft and 30mm hole spacing w/4mm screws yadda yadda, blah blah you get the point. if anyone needs one PM me |
Nice conversion, I'm also doing a LST conversion atm..
Good luck with it! oh, just one question; do you know with what programm that motor mount is made? Thanks, Patrick |

you get that mount made I want one also. Willing to throw Mike sales and service fee, Just really need an LST2 mount... anyone lol
that sounded bad... I mean I know Mikes busy and im a lamo and I wouldnt burden him with making me a special project as he has done so nicely for many. Im not feeling selfish this time of year (come spring though) LOL so If someone happens to make one I would love to contribute as its sitting in my 7 degree freezing garage just expanding and contracting |
got a link to the bidproduct esc? I don't know about that one.

If you have lst questions I have a few and my buddies have nitro ones. We have gone thru them and they are great trucks. Very sturdy drivetrain, especially with the foc tranny mod and the al case diffs. I splurged and put the TiN coated ring and pinion sets in my lst, not really necessary, but I had the parts hanging around. Plus there are a few options for the diff cups, std are all pastic, the heavy duty 8t plastic cups with steel inserts look to be a good way to add strength and not add much weight. And you can go with full al cups too. Great truck, and with the lst2/muggy arms, hubs and cvds it is at least as stong as a truggy. My next 6x6 will be lst based, just waiting on parts! |

If it's a fully dimentioned print I can mill one out for you. I don't have an LST to test fitment on so all the measurements have to be there. LMK if you can get prints. -JB |
I dont have a print, Wish I did. Maybe Ben can cough one up ? I have an 88% built lst2 and some calipers if you need nitro mount points, but i dont exactly know where the brushess mount should be in respect to height and outward mesh,, Kinda hoping thats what you all had in mind lol

I can make a drawing.. i think, can you just take a cad file or STL?

Looks good, your going to have a fun time finding homes for your lipos.
besides that looks good, aluminum diff cases are a plus |
I hopefully have enough room on the rear end of the chassis to bundle all the lipos togheter into one battery cluster.

Has anyone tried putting a centre diff in the LST2?
I am going to try, just don't have the parts yet (they're in the mail). As the Muggy and LST2 share so many parts, I'm going to try if the LST2 tranny can be replaced by the Muggy centre diff. The wheelbase of both cars are almost identical, only 5mm difference, so I thought it should be possible.... |
