To wing it or to not wing it. The Slayer

2 Attachment(s)
I put a wing mount for the revo on the slayer and taped a wing from my Losi on there. Had to cut the body a bit but didn't want to drill different holes in the wing so the wing is a little crooked. What do you think?

Check out the link to the pics. I took 8 differnt shots at different angles so there are side by side comparisons.

Here's a slide show with comparision shots.

Slide show seemed a little slow for me. Here's the link to just the gallery. With the same shots taken.

I'm still undecided if I like it or not.

E-Revonut 12.23.2008 10:13 PM

Looks pretty cool with a wing, sets it apart from the rest!

Semi Pro 12.23.2008 10:54 PM

i like the winged look

dirt101 12.23.2008 11:19 PM

I say go for the wing, because it also adds some protection.

mikey09120 12.24.2008 02:08 AM

WING IT!!!

George16 12.24.2008 02:13 AM

I think it looks stupid with a wing. It's like those rice rockets I see out there with a big-ass wing sticking up as high as a 2-story building :rofl:.

webman405 12.24.2008 03:08 AM

i say wing it!

I will third this sentiment!

It's a corr truck, not a honda civic mommy bought for you that you modify with the money you earn delivering pizza's. :diablo:

Put that wing on there and next you'll add a v-tec sticker to add horsepower! :oh::lol:

Exactly. It would be something like this:

Gee 12.24.2008 01:59 PM

LOL Nice wing on that one.

All knotted up, 9 to 9 - going into the 4th

BrianG 12.24.2008 02:03 PM

Or like an old POS rusty Astro van with a huge spoiler, and actual spinners. Ugg, just the bolts holding the wing on was worth more than the entire vehicle.

X2

I'd go without it unless it became a necessity to protect the body.

Come on, everyone knows that only stickers that say "NOS" on them add horsepower! You don't even need to apply it, just throw the sticker in your glove box and the mere proximity to the engine makes it faster.

What's_nitro? 12.24.2008 04:39 PM

http://www.kelseys.ca/images/global/...ickenWings.jpg IT.

BrianG 12.24.2008 04:53 PM

I dunno, I'm just not feeling it. Maybe it's the lighting...

Gee 12.24.2008 04:56 PM

That is just to funny. I was just thinking about all the laughs RCM provides and low and behold!

The dogs would definately try harder to catch it.

BrianG 1-up'ed me.

crazyjr 12.25.2008 04:07 PM

I said wing it, because it looks tasteful, not ricey. However, it will affect the aerodynamics heavily

George16 12.25.2008 08:12 PM

Now it's 12-12.

Gee 12.25.2008 09:06 PM

Yeah, looks like we're going into overtime. 12 all.

E-Revonut 12.25.2008 11:45 PM

I still think it looks great with the wing but instead of asking us why don't you run it with and without and see if there's any handling advantages. One of the reasons I say to wing it is it will be easier to identify your truck on the track.

+1:yes:

pasan 12.26.2008 12:11 AM

Does it double up as a wheelie bar like on the revo?

Next time try it with the spicy Asian sauce!

BrianG, you forget the multiplied advantage of adding the V-Tec sticker to any car but a Honda, this gives out 10 times the power of the NOS sticker. If you put a TRD sticker on your Honda windshield though, you will gain a guaranteed 75 horsepower at the wheels and smoke anything that comes your way.

And to think it was the plymouth superbird that started it all...

George16 12.27.2008 09:02 PM

It's now 16-15, no wing.

ksb51rl 01.03.2009 03:16 AM

I like the wing. I like Hondas too, but sans any non-factory wing.

Gee 02.13.2009 12:49 AM

It was a pretty close poll. 19 to not wing it and 17 to wing it. I ended up not winging it may some other day.

I've always been a fan of fat tires on cars. It may come memories of the 70's but I don't still bell bottom jeans. I found a use for some tires I had sitting on the shelf. Some big ballon style off a Kyosho Inferno US Sport. Actually work really well on the Slayer. I just stripped it down today and cleaned it up today. Should of take the pictures before I went out to test it.

What do you guyt think?
