best buggy?

im getting board with my mt's. and i like the way the buggys fly around the track. losi's 8ight , mbx5 , ect.... whats the best buggy for the money.
i will most likey be running a mm on 4s (bec) i ts sitting and collecting dust. and a neu (1515 or 1512)? i have a 1515 1y. but i think thats too big.
shoot me strait. whats the best buggy out there?

George16 01.04.2009 11:22 PM

I'd buy a Mugen MBX6.

BL_RV0 01.04.2009 11:24 PM

Same here. Your 1515 1y on 4s will run great.

Semi Pro 01.05.2009 12:03 AM

the 8ight is great, dirt cheep right now, but the 808 is king as long as you can handle the price

emaxxnitro 01.05.2009 12:25 AM

what about this?

BL_RV0 01.05.2009 12:32 AM

Yep. That's a great price. Seems like vendors are clearing out 8ight stock to make room for the 8ight 2.0

emaxxnitro 01.05.2009 12:38 AM

hope they are still around jan20. i get paid

BL Dreamer 01.05.2009 02:39 AM

Yep I would love xray but as my journey into 1/8 scale buggy land begins I sure cant afford $500 for just a buggy....so this christmas I bought two 8ights. You are probably thinking where is the logic in that.
Well after buying my eight roller I went to the hobby store and saw how much the individual parts are. Then I bought a 8ight RTR to sell of the nitro stuff and speky dx2. This way I have a back-up buggy for DIRT cheap. I got the rtr off ebay for only $325 shipped and the Roller for $230 with a novak conversion that is for sale BTW. Everyone is blowing them out now that 2.0 is out. I think in the 1/8 size you cant beat this buggy at the price.

pics of my find

Now Im broke with no electronics...lol. But I am at least on my way. :mdr:

Sower 01.05.2009 11:38 AM

Do you have a budget for this buggy? Saying best bang for the buck usually implies there's a budget you're trying to stay within. If not, I say the MBX6 looks like the best buggy out there and you can get it for under $500.

emaxxnitro 01.05.2009 03:32 PM

i think im going with the 8ight, and yes if i get the losi i can have it flying on the track for about 500$

bdebde 01.05.2009 04:16 PM

Hot Bodies D8 is going around $300 or so as well.

advantages over the 8ight ?

Sower 01.05.2009 04:52 PM

From what I've read on the two the D8 is more predictable and more durable. However, I've never raced either one so take that with a grain of salt. Just some stuff I've seen in mags or forums.

emaxxnitro 01.05.2009 05:07 PM

more input....

macr0w 01.06.2009 12:04 AM

A buddy of mine bought a D8 a while back. He's trying to sell it now.

I'm not sure what the problem is be I don't think he likes it.

I've been driving an MBX-6 since it came out. I love it.

I won't be switching until the MBX-7 comes out. :mdr:

better service, losi's CS is bad

i used to race the hot bodies lightning 2 and it was a great buggy so im sure the D8 is too, but keep in mind the losi buggys bigest draw back is that everyone else has them, but that means cheep parts and lots of hop-ups.

there never is much after market support for hot bodies products

i now bash my lightning 2 and race the 8ight

emaxxnitro 01.06.2009 06:29 PM

ok i will try to get the losi (if i still can ) they might sell out. if it does i will get the d8.
also in the long run i think i will run 12s 2500 in this thing. since it has mech brakes? i will not need a car esc (or will i) hv guys share your knowlage...
i dont know what to get first. the buggy or the dx3s

George16 01.06.2009 07:07 PM

Best buggy for the money is clearly D8. very forgiving and easy to drive
Then i would say MBX6 , XB808, 8ight 2.0 and then the rest as i dont have experience with RC8, X2 :) thats for racing
for bashing of course you cant beat the price of the old 8ight or SH buggy

who needs cs on a car? maybe on a esc motor or batterys but the car is user serviceable
