need help guys
I feel like such a tool for not figuring this out on my own, but I'm stuck.
Setup: LS10 MM with CC bec and this cap http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...=35vcap&cat=21 540c 8xl cheap nimh stick pack for testing (will accept 4s donations) JR xs3 and r135 Problem: It works but not right. Steering works flawlessly. Will respond to forward and reverse inputs but not "fluidly". Sometimes it will remain going forward "on throttle" even when trigger is returned to neutral. I tried 3 different receivers. The trigger on the radio seems to just be a potentiometer, the only thing I can come up with is a dirty pot? I don't have another tx to try so I thought maybe you guys could read this and say, "yeah it's the radio douchebag", or, "it sounds like X you flaming retard". Thanks for reading. |
It does sound like a dirty tx pot. Since your steering works, plug your ESC into the steering port of the radio. Of course, "turning" will now activate forwards and reverse, but that should help isolate the problem...
I would recalibrate the ESC to the new "throttle" throw though before running... |

Hmm. Maybe temporarily. I've never had lasting results from doing that. Usually, if dirt that got in there, not only is it dirty (duh), it also probably scratched up the resistor and you'll still probably get erratic behavior.
So, did running it on the steering channel work? |
hate to tell you this but thats what my MMM v2 did right before it went poof. but it only did it for about a minute before it was done for. Im guessing if yours was guna do it then would have already done it.

stuck in bed tonight, can't test. Excellent idea though, using the steering channel. I've had luck cleaning pots in old stereo volume knobs, i guess it's worth a try.

I have found that steering tends to be a lot less prone to interference or bad signal then the esc. My MM does exactly what you describe when it is about 30m away. The receiver antenna has been broken so the range is crap. It's not a problem most of the time. The MM seems to hold last throttle position momentarily before dropping to failsafe.

my radio has been dropped a couple times since it's last run, I'm thinking it's time for a new radio. troubleshooting tomorrow will tell.....

I'm quick witted and a funny guy, but you sir, are hilarious. I'm not hitting on you either, that's the truth. |

And it would be ok if you hit on me, not the first time I was hit on by someone I do not desire:rules: |

Undesirable advances: Since Ive been in a wheelchair I get hit on by 2 people, fat chicks and gay guys. I understand the fat chicks, they see a wounded little Harold and think, "I'm fat and he's crippled, maybe we would have a chance." So I make her buy me a beer and I start talking about my ex, and how I had to let her go cause she was getting chubby. Depending on how cruel I am at the time I can stretch the story so I can get a second beer, or drop the ex line right away and drink in peace. I still dont get why the gay guys hit on me. Dirty gay guys. |

I will also say that old ladies have a thing for me, like 65+. Kinda creepy sometimes, but I just take the high road and enjoy the attetion. I know how to have a decently intellectual conversion (shocker, huh...) and I think they like that in a young man, or they are just old and horny?! I do like the ex getting chubby comment. I get my wife's friends to buy me drinks, cause when they get drunk they get friendly, and I have a higher tolerance, so I con them into fotting the bill at the bar! Its a win-win situation, for me and the bar owner though! |
The way you two probably look . you should be glad any women hits on you :na:.
Paralyzed Rc-monster has a dont ask dont tell policy . So it's okay if you like the gay that guy hits on you . |
Follow up: It's EMI from the bec. No matter where I put it it acts up. A receiver pack eliminates the problem. Now I'm stuck running a receiver pack, or 3s with my MM. FRICK!

Try a cap (1000uF/16v) on the BEC output and/or a ferrite ring around the throttle cable...
Also what BEC are you using? |

I suspected, but thought to wait until I heard for sure. During testing, it was kinda noisy. Try a DimensionEngineering BEC...
