TC5R - project slideways!
Recently I bought a used tc4 roller and gaveanother run at rc drifting. I met a group of people in my area that are quite serios about the sport and the bug bit. Last Saturday I went to my first offical event and drove several cars. I realized quickly that belt drive suited my driving style much more than shaft drive. I am trading the tc4 to tha5150 for a video camera, and I went and bought this:

and finished up the install last night:

But after a 10 minute session last night I was ALL smiles! |
Man that thing looks sweet. Makes me want one. The Minamps battery takes away from the overall appeal!
yeah, I need to get new 2s lipos. I have that one and an beat to death trc pack.
so very very sexy

But I dont want to hijack Dickys thread |
How did you get black wires?
Sorry Dicky, haha but more ideas! Will give you something to do right?
Just need a soldering iron, and know how to solder real well. I have messed up a few escs in the past. But I got it down now. same for the RX leads. Im not planning on keeping that ESC or servo in there, so for now thats it. I think TCs need to be wired up nice and neat to make them look 100%. If your going to spend the money, might as well make it look pretty right? IDK maybe it just bugs me lol http://i453.photobucket.com/albums/q...X/IMG_4462.jpg http://i453.photobucket.com/albums/q...X/IMG_4471.jpg |
DickyT, i see the dogs a still doing thier job guarding the place. I just read about the TC5Rs the other day. Very nice! You are one "NEW PROJECT" maniac! We will be waiting for a video, and no sense in trying to tell us you don't have a video camera. LOL
thanks guys. Gee, I'm getting a new camera saturday :)
BOR, wiring is on my list of things to do, I just wanted to get it drivable. My house is a wreck right now, they are tiling and everything is misplaced. I have no idea where my soldering station is. once that is settled I will clean it all up :) |
bro, you can use my soldering iron on sat. you said it wont be enough watts to do anything but man, this thing works like a charm. 30w from walmart = $6.99. works just fine. i have solder iron too. if not enough, we can put it on our list. :)
We will sort your rigs on Sat man. I will worry about my rigs on my time. ;)
thats right. and my toe nails need clipped too. so get on it. hahah
well on that note you can fix your own crap  you can forget my AIM too
see ya Saturday bro. |
:whip:
I ordered a one way for the front today and 26/87 gearing which will give me a 6.69 fdr. I have 7.57 currently.
Looks great DickyT. Are those 4 tec wheels?
thanks, no the wheels are yokomo. They are the same pattern as the 4tec though. They were the only zero offset wheel my lhs had in stock, so they will do for now.
If you're gonna be driving in the dark drill four small holes into your tyres. insert some circular flints and glue them in, when the tyres spin they spark :)
There's a guide on the internet somewhere. |
99% complete, license plates and a few little things missing.

bad azz man ! I want some video of it sliding please
looks great bro!
That looks REALLY cool. I almost had to take a second look 'cause I almost thought it was a real 1:1 car! HaHaHaHa. I bet it flies and handles well.
Thanks guys! It is not very fast, it is running drift tires. I'm sure if I took out the slydr 8.5 system, threw in an MM and some motor on 3s, and put on some foams or good rubber it would be very fast though!
Very nice.
Hey Dickyt Nice TC5.
Anyways I have a question for you or anyone for that matter as far as replacement parts go which are easier to find parts for TC4 or 5 and\or are they interchangable? |
very very sexy
