made up new battery mounts (only have one on right now) took 1 adjustment link on all the wheels off (hit the shock mount and body mount) moved the shocks around (like 2x the travel i had before) got rid of the pieces running the length of the truck, and moved the shifting servo did some other stuff to but you cant see it in the pics

im going for as light as i can get it:D . i dont have a scale so i dont have a clue what it ways, but i can tell ya that all 4 of my moabs and beadlock wheels way about the same as the truck does :L:

camel_rc 12.14.2005 09:10 PM

Holy hell stampy! That thing looks great! Are those savage diffs?

E-Traxxer 12.15.2005 01:31 AM

Man, that looks awesome. About the tires, do you know where you got them? They look light. :L:
What knuckles are those? They kind of look like modified Savage knuckles..?

mack 12.15.2005 04:48 AM

I really respect custom build trucks way to go dude!!
Keep on doing your custom work then you always got the bomb;)

Dagger Thrasher 12.15.2005 10:55 AM

Wow! That looks amazing! That thing must be incredibly lightweight for it's size, bet it'll handle well too! Awesome work. :D

stampy 12.15.2005 04:11 PM

i havent driven it yet so i dont know how its going to do, it might be a complete pile and fall apart on me i dont know. one thing i do know is i dont think its going to handle real great cause i dont have enuff caster on the front wheels :W:

yes there great tires:p the knuckles and carriers are both lst along with the axles

stampy 12.16.2005 12:47 AM

for my next tires im thinking savage tires on some maxamizer beadlock wheels. but i have 1 concern, does any body know the holding power if those wheels? i dont wont the tires blowing off from the power of a 9xl on 22.2 volts o' lipo :p

dabid 12.16.2005 02:04 PM

They've got good low speed holding power, rock crawlers love them, they stay put even when bound up in holes and junk. No idea what they could do with that kind of power, but crawling puts some pretty good stress on stuff even if you don't realize it.

stampy 12.16.2005 03:44 PM

im not positive on the savage tires. i like the looks of them and the size of them, 6x3 is right were i wont the tires to be. i wish i could try them on and see if they look right but my hobbie shop kinda sucks , they just wont you to buy somthing and get out, which is gay cause ive spent so much money over there its not even funny. i think i might have to make 2 models of the tires out of cardboard or sumfin and stick them on the truck to see if the size is right

squeeforever 12.16.2005 04:33 PM

if im not mistaken the tires ballon REALLY BAD. it is the tires serum had on his savage with a big maxximum and the tires look bigger than the swamp kongs. ill try and find the picture.

ya ive seen the pic lol those things were crazy huge :p. i plan on using the tires for bashing off road, and then for speed runs and running on pavement ill stick some roadrages on there or somfin. if the balloning is real bad then ill do the ducktape trick :D

Jasper 12.16.2005 06:11 PM

Dont use the savage tires! They are SUCKS! Too heavy, really bad ballooning and poor handling makes them useless! I drove them with the 7xl/9920 combo on 12 cells en the speed was much slower than with bowties and 23mm wabash wheels! Also the handling is very poor.

coolhandcountry 12.16.2005 06:26 PM

A set of dirt hawgs are 6.25 x 3.5 in. I think they handle pretty decent and get decent traction. If you going to be off roading and want so good traction. Mike has a set of rd logics on the rims for 30 bucks a pair. They are 6x3 like you want and grip something awesome. For the money they are real hard to beat.

stampy 12.16.2005 06:39 PM

ya the dirt hogs are to wide. i dont wont any thing over about 3" wide. the rdlogics are 5.5x3.5 on there site :C: plus i dont wont the wheels, i hate having to waste a good tire to change my setup, thats why im going with the maxxmizers :). i know hotbodies makes a 6x3" tire but it doesent say if it comes with foams, plus i dont know how soft or hard they are, and if the size is accurate:M: .

squeeforever 12.16.2005 06:47 PM

did you consider a crimefighter or bowtie? there great for almost any terrain and grip better on the road than my road rages.

Basketti 12.16.2005 07:01 PM

Does weight effect the crawling ability of the truck? Cause now that my truck is all aluminum and im using big joes it weighs 12 1/2 pounds with batteries and everything and now it crawls better. I tried it on these big rocks out side my house, and it went over them easily, where it would normally slip it grips and crawls over them. I think the extra weight allows me to get more traction.

stampy 12.16.2005 07:16 PM

well im not a racer im just a basher so traction is 3rd to wear and looks :). i know i wont the road rages cause they dont wear as fast as a bowtie or somthing else like that on the road. plus i like being able to slide the truck on pavement its fun. so traction dosent concern me as much on that.

stampy 12.16.2005 07:36 PM

hum i like the crimefighter it might look sweet on my truck i like the width and the hight i think im gunna go with that :D

squeeforever 12.16.2005 08:19 PM

i got 2 40 series set and they are by far the best tire i have ever had. on any condition of terrain.

stampy 12.16.2005 08:28 PM

how bout the 3.2 size ones any body have and like them?

stampy 12.20.2005 01:47 AM

any body run a 5.7 " or so tire on a 15" wb truck? how does it look? got any pics?

Rcbros 12.20.2005 02:03 AM

One word "WOW"

coolhandcountry 12.20.2005 09:43 AM

15 inch wheel base. That is kind of long truck. I have 14.5 inch wheel base. Tires are about 5.5 inch. I got a pic around the forum some where. I think it is in here.

well my truck is 15.5 but i rounded :) . i cut out some card board wheels 5.7" tall and slaped them on there. you can see my truck im more truggy looking than a mt. sence the body sits so low.

coolhandcountry 12.20.2005 07:13 PM

What does the body you got fit? When you measured was it center of wheel to center of wheel?

stampy 12.20.2005 07:21 PM

the body is for a lst. yep from center of the hub to center of the hub. it looks like the wb is just as long as the body its not its just the angle of the pic

stampy 12.20.2005 07:27 PM

ops i take back that 15.5" wb, its 14 7/8 dont have a clue how i got 15.5:C:

stampy 12.25.2005 08:58 PM

does that look stupid or sumfin the responces stoped when i posted that last pic :o
