Battery straps for FLM chassis???
Hi, I have been trying to figure out how to attach 16 cells per side on the new chassis. I can't evan figure out how to do the 8 on top! Here are some pictures of what Flm sent me. Anyone who can see a way to use these straps your help is welcome.

Are they not like Gorillas? They shouldn't go around the top/bottom of the chassis, if they do thats a real bad design.
Best wait for Mikes custom straps out of Allu'. |
These are the ones I got with my chassis. I was just trying to figure out how they might work.
WHAT? I thought they were metal for side x side packs like the UE lightning chassis? Dude if those are straps that came with it im pretty disapointed....
they must have messed up because when you look at the chassis at each battery length there is a hole where the post go for the battery hold downs like the UE chassis. |
Yea I saw the aluminium hold downs they made. I think I will ask Mike about it and see what's up?
If I were to guess, I would think that you have it correct in the 2nd picture, but then there would be one shorter strap per side to keep the batteries from sliding off to the side.
Sorry I am not following what your talking about :C:

still wouldnt seem right if it was like that that be ghettoo fabulous, but not cool.
Straps not long enough for that. I think someone messed up somehow?
They are made to wrap around the chassis. It is not a great design. I used the gmaxx straps. I have not problems with them. Use the gmaxx straps with a flm strap across and you will have them secured like metal mans drawing.
to mount 16 per side 8 on top 8 on bottom of chassis |
yeah, but cant the chassis hold 8 on one side on top or bottom? I gotta get me some UE side by side packs from the looks of it now. aint gonna use no cheap straps like that looking.
When i got my chassis i couldnt even work out how they are supposed to go lol so i used some gorilla maxx straps. Im gonna do what CHC said and use the flm ones so they dont fall out the side :)
dont the notches keep the batteries in tack though like the gorilla and UE chassis?
AE cup's are teh thing you need. You'll need to drill 2 hole's for each cup though, but I don't see a problem mounting them on there.
Look's allot better too. Sorry but that picture just make's the chassis look so messy and fugly. |
They will launch a few aluminium straps soon, i would wait for those...
This is really funny.... Just get a few miles of velcro and wrap it around the frame.. (don't forget to put the batteries on, before you start winding....) |
Lol :) Yea and hope my GP3700's run a long time. Battery change time around 30min. :p

Yea It is a good chassis and my guess is $15-$20 at most. I guess we can use the straps on our shoes or something. lol
well any updates on the batter straps? Man the funky black ones from FLM dont cut it...
They are working on them, they should, maybe they are already in production, just getting some things worked out?
do these fit?

im pretty sure they wont. the gorillamaxx g3 xl's would be my first choice.
would the UE lightning straps work? their both 8 cell/side straps just FLM.
Yeah they should work out fine.
Are you sure, pal?
Yeah im 99.9% sure;)
What's the word on the new FLM's
None of what we heard of, mmdooley:(
Mike told me it would be about a week about a week and a half ago. But I have noticed Mike is on a different time line than other people lol :L: . I hope Mike and FLM get it worked out soon. :D
lol, it shouldnt be too much longer since, well, you said so :p
:L: :L: :p :L:
I think the gmaxx cf maybe a touch longer. You can make it work though.
Well, we can make anything work:) , but we want something that directly cut to the bone without any sort of mods.
