My Wreckluse !!!
This is a little project I have been working on for about 3 months. When I first saw the RCP Wreckluse I knew I had to pick one up. I haven't had a 2.2 scaler in about 2 years, I have been running the 1.9 stuff. My plans are for a full interior, Scaleoffroad working Warn winch, and alot of other scale goodies. O yea I frickin HATE styrene.

wow that thing is going to be awesome. Well its awesome now but I cant imagine it once you get it completed.
|
So this is what you're doing with your time while the SC8e collects dust awaiting completion? :mdr:

awesome build. If my hands worked better I would for sure build a scaler. I looked into those winches, wow! Spendy! But soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo freakin' cool!

Looking good Chip! Look like your styrene skills are getting pretty good... I am too lazy for that, I just buy a toy body with full interior!
|
I am liking the styrene myself. It is forcing me to be disciplined and take my time. My unimog will take a while, much slower than your build. I just can't wait to be out of an apartment and have real build space for my projects.
Your build is looking mighty fine Chip, and your avatar always makes me laugh! |
I have been working on some aluminum body panels so when it smashes into a rock I get dents. ;-) The chassis kit comes with lexan body panels which would be very easy to paint and pull the over spray film off.

Nice job on those panels. I think you just convinced me to build a tube chassis for my Berg...

Very nice. When is the maiden voyage??

Just a little update !!!!
Since I started this build I have been looking for a grill that would look great on the Wreckluse. I haven't had any luck at all I made one from styrene which I didn't care for the looks. I also tried a Scale Shop grill and it did not like the way it fit. So a few days ago I made one from the same aluminum that I made the body panels from and after a little powder coat this is what I came up with.
http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z...9/103_0466.jpg http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z...9/103_0465.jpg I also built a 3rd interior, I like this one alot more. I just need to finish painting it and put in the shifters and seats. http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z...9/103_0469.jpg http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z...9/103_0468.jpg http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z...9/103_0467.jpg |
Chip, I must say that this build looks better than any factory set up I've seen...well done
|
I got most of the electronics in today and put the body panels back on the shelf queen.

The two short switches will work the head lights, rock lights, and main power switch for the winch. |
Looking good! Pretty slick how you did the switches, I may steal that idea from you in the future.

Stunning....

That is so cool! You did a great job on it. Looks like you just raised the bar for a build like that. Me I guess I will wait till this thread is long gone before I attempt anything similair. I am very impressed with your detail and just love the dent feature. Do post up some pics when you get the first dent in it. Nice job Chip!
