PAPA'S Project

Well I finally put this thing together. I am very happy with the way things have sorted out. At this point I still need to handle the wiring, of the esc ubec receiver and batteries. I'll be using lipo. I hope you like it as much as I do. Your comments questions and recomendations are appreciated. Now if I can just link in a few pictures.

Papa, your truck is by far the nicest ive seen in a while, the way you set it up and put it together, id reccomend you lower it a bit if you are going to race it which i think you are. Edit** i also think you should put the motor in the middle position on the motor mount to distribute weight evenly around the truck, unless your using lipo on the other side?

Papa 12.18.2005 01:37 PM

I thought about using the middle "high" position on the motor mount. I thought that the weight might put to much stress on the mount and mess with the gear mesh when under stress. I doudled up the bracket on the Side for the same reason. This truck will have lipo in it. However the packs will be the same weight from side to side. With repect to set up. I am hoping that when fully loaded it will settle in. The rear suspension is closer to level as it sits now. My arms are all the way out as it is. I could move the shock upper in to lay them out a bit more. Hopefully the additional battery load will square it away. I still need to adjust camber and toe.

Sylvester 12.18.2005 02:49 PM

Yeah, your front isnt alligned but your rear looks ok, If the motor sits on one side, you could put the controller on the other:)

Sneeck 12.18.2005 02:55 PM

Nice truck there papa. Very long one also.

What body is that?

Papa 12.18.2005 03:09 PM

The length comes from...
UE Setback arms.
http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/...9/DSCN1824.JPG

and UE chassis extension.
http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/.../6/9/ueext.JPG

The body is Proline Crowdpleazer for MGT,LST, TNX, Genesis
It is huge. However the wheel wells do line up.:p

Jasper 12.18.2005 03:33 PM

Wow! Really nice truck! I like the carbon/alu combination. I'd love to see some videos.

There is a bit of snow on the ground here right now.

Although the snow does provide some benefits....

nbcaznmaster 12.18.2005 03:58 PM

omg...are you serious? i dont beilieve that! Nice e-maxx though. I thought it was a LSP for a second. you hould drive ur e-maxx anyway! put some sand paddlesa and your ready to go.

Sneeck 12.18.2005 04:09 PM

Yep saw both of those extend0rs. Sweet.

I can't wait till we get some real snow down here.

coolhandcountry 12.18.2005 04:09 PM

I guess you have to wait papa. Looks real nice. I like the cf and aluminum look to. Do you have a weight on it yet? I am just curious. :D I thought that is what the body was for. Looks good with the sliver and wing. Let us know how the first run goes.

Papa 12.18.2005 04:14 PM

My digital scale only goes to 5lbs. I may head to staples in a bit. I'll toss it in the car and use the postal scale.

nbcaznmaster 12.18.2005 04:18 PM

lol, CHEAP! ur one of the asain people now! lol, dont you have a regular bathroom scale or something?

Papa 12.18.2005 04:19 PM

Nope.

Sneeck 12.18.2005 04:34 PM

That "asian guy" happen's to have one of the most sickest truck's money can buy. I don't think a didigtal scale up to let's say 20 lb's is going to be a big problem.

Dafni 12.18.2005 04:47 PM

When you stack some books, 3 stacks to app the same height as your 5lbs balance, you can weight on every tire individualy. Would give you the total weight if you add it up, and a nice info on your weight bias as well.

Nice Maxx!

JOHNNYMAXXIMA 12.18.2005 04:50 PM

VERY nice indeed there Papa! You definitely have and hour or two invested in your project. I like how the crowdpleazer body extends down to the bottom of the chassis to hide the batts. Mine doesn't do that.
I've got to get me one of those back door refrigerators too, that's nice.
Btw, what is the projected top speed?
Thanks.

Papa 12.18.2005 04:58 PM

This just in....back from the official scale.

8.1lbs base truck
30.3356oz 2@2s2p scorpion 6400Mah
8.125oz body
3.25oz esc
.75oz ubec
.50 oz receiver
----------------------

172.56060z = 10.785035lbs
172.5606oz = 4.892010kg

Nick 12.18.2005 05:03 PM

Nicest truck I have seen Papa, really amazing.

Keep it up. How much was UE extension?

Papa 12.18.2005 05:05 PM

Extension = $60.00 +sh

Sylvester 12.18.2005 06:58 PM

Your truck isnt that heavy, papa, which controller are you gonna be using again? The 9918?

Papa 12.18.2005 07:02 PM

Yes the 9918. Considering thats a ready to run weight, with cells and all. I am good with it.

My Dad used to compliment me. "For as fat as you are you sure don't sweat much.":p

Sylvester 12.18.2005 07:16 PM

That is a good weight for RTR, that is a funny compliment lol:p

nbcaznmaster 12.18.2005 07:22 PM

NOW! I REALIZE HOW EVERYONE'S CAR IS SO LIGHT! its cuz of lipos. When poeple said 8lbs, 10lbs, im thinkign HOWS THAT POSSIBLE? Mines a stock revo- and thiers is maxx. Well i had nimh, and i bet they all had lipos!

Nick 12.18.2005 07:57 PM

Mine is 11lbs and thats with cells... easy to get under 9lbs if you have the money without Lipos.

rchippie 12.18.2005 07:58 PM

Chris that is a very very nice looking truck . It was nice to talk to you yesterday.:D

Electric Dave 12.18.2005 08:34 PM

Really nice truck. Love all the latest UE goodies...not a fan of the huge body but to each his own. So how does it run/Handle? What weights of Diff oil are you using?

Papa 12.18.2005 08:52 PM

Thanks...

The diffs have 10k in the front and 7K in the rear 50 wt shock oil all around. I am not sure if I like the body either. It was the longest and deepest I could find. I was trying to cover the sides and line up the wheel wells with the arms. I acheived both of those goals. However..... I am not sure if I like the look. As is usually the case I like it alot better with its clothes off.:L:

I have not run it yet. I still have to do the wiring, a mess load of soldering and sorting. We got so much snow on the ground that my sence of urgency is minimal at this point.

Sylvester 12.18.2005 08:55 PM

The body looks alright, but i think you could find somthing better, maybe you could just stick with it for now and once it breaks than you can get a new one:p The body does cover everything up well though.....

mack 12.18.2005 09:06 PM

Nice truck papa :D I only don't like your body it makes it cheap sorry.

Bud still i would like it beter when it was my papa his truck...LOL

Papa 12.18.2005 09:08 PM

Its what's on the inside that counts.:p :L:

I 'll get one done up for me. I like thisguys work. He does some sweet bodies, and tattooes too from what I hear.

Check out his gallery.

Sylvester 12.18.2005 09:25 PM

Hmm, that looks alright, the body you show is a bit to intense for me, not my style, but it might look good on your truck.

Serum 12.19.2005 03:26 AM
