KAMIKAZIE 4.0 berg build

Im thinking of getting a BERG crawler & a KK customs 4.0 chassis. Can i use the stock rod ends & stock upper links on the KK customs 4.0 chassis or do i have to get the revo ends ?.The KK customs 4.0 chassis comes with bent lower links, so the stock ones are not needed .

RCShocker 03.18.2009 09:55 PM

You should be able to use stock rod ends and your stock uppers w/ that chassis. The upper's may or may not be the length you need though.

The KK lowers will needs rod end's installed unless you can talk Jeff into doing that. Well worth it.

I used some oversized HPI rod ends and didnt really like them. The Revo "pushrod" ends that go to the rockers would probably work best though.

Are you considering the high or medium clearance delrin lowers?

Arct1k 03.18.2009 10:02 PM

thinking of the same but with a dna mantis chassis if i can sell the .5 or an e losi 8

Jeff suggested i might like the HC links , since i wont be competing . Are the revo rod ends the same size as the stock rod ends ?.

I still have some stuff to get but i got the following stuff . No lockouts at this time because i dont know which ones to get . I still have to decide what tires & wheeels. Im thinking mayhem engineering 7's or comp double fatty's ( with removable weights) or vanquish revolver wheels (with removable weights). As for the tires im thinking panther with the soft foam or the HB revolvers. I will be getting the new proline bug 1/0 crawler when it is released in a couple of weeks . What do you think about these lockouts ?.

I run fubar lockouts on my Hot axles. I'd definatly go the JP route if I had berg's. Nothing against fubar. They are great and do what they are suppose to. I really prefer the look of the JP lockouts.

I got a Fubar crawler stand from John too.

I orders this morning so im hoping today . Joe bruiser on rctech sugessted the panthers with the soft white foam & not the memory foam. Ha also sugessted the fubar lock over the jpcustoms . He said there is less chance of snagging . The 4.0 looks great .

RCShocker 03.20.2009 08:36 PM

Snag = Competition :whistle:

JoeBruiser definately know's wazzup.

Sooner than later I hope .....

Arct1k 04.15.2009 11:32 PM

Mine is done... (almost) a couple of things to be aware of - if you go for shortening the stock knuckles the wheels hit the trunbuckles - I would pickup some ax10 metal knuckles

I noticed that . But they are barly hitting the heads of the mounting screws for the wheel. They only tough the screws when the wheel is straight . they dont touch at all when the wheel is at full lock left or right .

rchippie 04.20.2009 07:52 PM

It looks awesome, hippie! But that many screws in beadlock wheels is COMPLETELY unnecessary!

It's all about the BLING . Plus every little bit of weight down low helps .

What's_nitro? 04.20.2009 08:25 PM

Well then I hope you are very satisfied with those tires because it'll be at least a half-hour to change them around.

RCShocker 04.20.2009 08:52 PM

Maybe he doesnt mind alot of screwing. I'd go the same route w/ Mayhem wheels. Outside rings (16) and then maybe just (8) on the inside rings. I'm getting older.

Those wheel's sure do look G-O-O-D !!!

So does the chassis, upper links, etc.

Not a big fan of the KK HC lowers. Boo...Hiss!!! :gasp:

EDIT: Saw these (vvvv) on a truck today and they look pretty darn nice.

LMAO . The only problem with those shids is they dont fit the stock servo mount all that great in my opinion. I had to heat mine up to shape it a little better arond the clamp . I think round lower links would be nice .

rchippie 04.22.2009 11:09 PM

I got some more work done on my crawler .

nice one - chop the body up a bit more on the sides for added clearance ;)

Thank's . I plan on cutting it more after running itto see if it rubs anywere .

Arct1k 04.23.2009 01:33 PM

You can see in the clear shot that it drops down below the skid - another option is to heat it an bend it in towards chassis

I think it would look better if i cut rather than bending it in at the bottom . My buddy jeremy suggested running it first before i cut or bend it . To see how much i would need to cut it .

Nice pic's. Got that Florida look I remember.

I stack all my rocks together in one pile.

lincpimp 05.06.2009 09:52 PM

Looks good Mike! Nice rock course, but you will want to add to it. My buddy started with about that many and in 3 months we had his fence down and put about 5 tons of rocks in his back yard.

rchippie 05.06.2009 09:57 PM

Thank's guys . I do plan on adding more stuff . But it's in the FR yard . So there may not be to much more i can add in that little area .
