3500 kv 1/10th motor?
Anyone else wanna see this motor? This would be perfect for the new core style trucks like the slash and sc10?
Vxl.....?
I would like to see a 3000kv- 2800kv
I'm using a vxl now but I would much rather have a castle motor back there.
Funny thread. I recently posted a thread similar asking Castle if they were gonna make some motors like this: http://rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19809
Ahh ok brian I just noticed that. I was just asking for a lower. Kv motor based on the current ones. A cooler running smooth can would be fine with me as long as it's 1/8 shaft and fits in stadium / core trucks.
It'd just be best if they got rid of the cm36s series motors alltoghther and replace them with a less sensitive motor build type... They may perform good in lighter 1/10's but not all people who run 1/10's brushless have light 1/10's....

What's wrong with a 3300kv medusa? 50mm is more than capable and it's available in 1/8" or 5mm shafts. You can make up for the 200kv loss with gearing
I'm actually running that very medusa motor rite now. I don't like that it's meant for Air use and has allot of open holes. Yes I did seal it and it's been fine but would be nice to have an offroad motor from the get go. My other complaint is that im on my second set of bearings and these are getting noisy also.
I agree we need a sealed 1/10th offroad motor that can handle some weight. |

The tekin redline sensorless motors go all the way down to 3200kv and are just like the castle cms36 motors (though rebuildable), so they run nicely on the mamba max. But if you want castle...

lol, yeah, Tekin has never been known for inexpensive products...

I'm using the 3200 kv motor. On 3s temps max out at about 160F in my xxx-4 but that is because the sticker covers most of the motor and limits cooling. I'm going to remove the sticker and see what happens. In my experience, lower kv motors have never improved temps without sacraficing A LOT of power while doing so. I originally went with this motor to be able to run 4s, but it turned out to be a much better 3s motor. It's probably also the quitest motor you can find.
What kind of power output are the tekin motors good for?
They're very similar to the castle motors (same rotor size, same coreless design, same external shape and size) although rebuildable and with solder tabs. I'm sorry this is turning into a tekin thread, but at least its good motivation for castle to hurry up with lower kv motors for 1/10 scale.

Coreless? Wow, I wonder how they managed that?!?! Lol, I know you mean "slotless"; just giving you a hard time.
