Mike the slipper diff works good, but I think it works alot better with 3 springs in it. With offsetting the three spring the pressure plates have more even pressure all the way aound. This is the best thing for 1/8 scale electric since the MMM.:mdr:

Grammar goes a long way nowadays. There are 2 things that would lead you to the answer.... Read his signature- he is running an rc8 buggy- IT EVEN SAYS THE GEARING IS 18/46... secondly the 50t HAS NOT BEEN RELEASED!. Mike will let us know when it is release, asking other people multiple times if they are using something that has not been released yet is pointless..

Sorry but mike has a 50t spur that was out of stock, mayb he got that? Anyway I was not asking if mike release the 50 diff anymore. I m ordering d 46t first:)

3 springs aren't needed. There is about 150 pounds of force on the slipper by the time you simply start to flatten the two included springs and much more when you flatten them out - and there is no noticeable slip at all with this setting(flat springs). Also, adding a 3rd spring will make it quite a PITA to install the slipper-side end cap - it took quite a bit of time and research to tweak everything so it could be built without a curse-fest - the 1st 3 or 4 versions had similar spring tension, but more spring travel and was a real b!tch assemble - always fighting the spring. :)

What's_nitro? 04.25.2009 07:22 PM

Sorry, I have to ask - Any updates on the availability of the 50T spur? Have they come back from hardening yet?

E-Revonut 04.25.2009 08:10 PM

I would like to know too! That's all that's stopping me from ordering one right now!

spiftacu1ar 04.29.2009 08:38 PM

me 3. Won't order the slipperential till they release, cuz a 46t is too samll for my application.

superek4 04.29.2009 08:48 PM

Me too, 50t still waiting .......

RC-Monster Mike 04.29.2009 09:48 PM

I have 3 or 4 prototype 50t gears - they are a little tight on the diff cup, but will function fine. 1st 3 to order the Slipperentials and request the 50t spurs get them. :)

spiftacu1ar 04.29.2009 10:14 PM

I emailed you about it last week and got no response.

RC-Monster Mike 04.29.2009 10:42 PM

You should have received an auto-response that had the same message that was on my home page last week - I was away for the RCX show. I came home to about 900 emails, which i am working my way through. :)

superek4 04.29.2009 10:55 PM

I placed my order already n paid I need d 50spur thx

RC-Monster Mike 04.29.2009 11:11 PM

Roger that, Alan. :)

Unsullied_Spy 04.30.2009 12:15 AM

Is the 50T slipperential just a normal one with a larger gear or is there some difference in the diff cup? I don't see why a person couldn't use a 46T with a smaller pinion...

E-Revonut 04.30.2009 12:17 AM

Well IMO smaller pinions wear faster and are harder to get a good mesh with

lincpimp 04.30.2009 12:24 AM

Hard to get 5.5:1 reduction with a 46t spur! That would require an 8t pinion, and those are only available from individuallipocells.com, and are made of unobtainium, so they are perpetually out of stock due to the limited (!!) quantities of said material.

Plus having a larger diameter spur will aid in fitting larger diameter motors (especially with smaller pinions), and also give needed clearance if mech brakes are to be employed. Plus some guys just like it big (Mix-A-Lot?)! And some also still run crts with buggy ratio diffs...

I m using a 62 spur at 11 pinion with 6s it gv me insane speed already. With 50spur I plan to use 10pinion it will b slower than 46spur n better

thx, wat u use for the front n rear for ur truggy? Thx

RC-Monster Mike 05.04.2009 10:20 AM

I normally use about 7k in the front and 2k or 3k in the rear.

Finnster 06.02.2009 01:03 AM

Update? I don't see a 50T yet in the store.. maybe I'm missing something? Just the one, and there is no details or options to select spur size.

RC-Monster Mike 06.02.2009 07:26 AM

There is no picture yet, but the item listing is directly above the 46t spur in the store. Maybe I will add it as an option instead of a separate listing so it is easier to see/select.
