jnev 04.16.2009 03:07 PM

Will do.

magman 04.16.2009 05:58 PM

Maybe some day they will have something like that on the EAST coast...maybe closer to New England!

What's_nitro? 04.16.2009 05:59 PM

^^ Yeah!!! :grrrrrr:

Takedown 04.16.2009 06:11 PM

You guys that live on the east coast should really check out the I-Hobby expo which takes place in chicago. Its 100% worth the cost of a plane ticket. I drive down to see it every year which is a 5-6 hour drive but totally worth it.

Did not know that. Maybe I could pick you up on the way.

disclaimer: you've all been a lil rowdy lately. Before anybody comments on the above post, I in no way mean this in a gay manner, not that there is anything wrong with that

Takedown 04.16.2009 06:58 PM

As long as it doesnt include abduction, held hostage for ransom, held hostage for laughs or being held hostage for no apparent reason then I dont see why not? You'll probably end up going way out of your way so it'd probably be best if we met up at a halfway point somewer around south east madison.

I would love to go...but, coming from Massachusetts it would be quite pricey...maybe someday

emaxxracer15 04.16.2009 07:49 PM

i agree, ihobby is really cool

BP-Revo 04.16.2009 07:54 PM

MetalMan and I will be going Sunday to help Mike out at the booth. I'm sure at one point we'll be able to take a quick tour of the expo so I'll try to remember to bring a camera and snap up some pictures.

If anyone else is going do be sure to drop by and say hi!

I love going to I hobby, RC, cinabons, mrs. fields, cheescake factory, and all the random junk food you can eat:lol::lol: I got to find those chocolate pretzels again, made of chocolate bread, covered in chocolate, and filled with chocolate:party: spent $40 on cheescake the last time i went, best tummy ace ever:lol:ya I spend more on junkfood than RC stuff when I go down there:oops::oops:

Takedown 04.17.2009 01:28 AM

I remember last year a booth was handing out candies and me and my friend ate it and practically vomited they were so nasty.

its about a 24 hr car ride from Boston to Chicago....back in the late 80s I drove from Boston to Seattle in 4 days and I hit Chicago by the end of the 2nd day

magman 04.17.2009 09:47 PM

I don't mind driving...the only problem is getting the time off needed to make the trek

jnev 04.18.2009 01:59 PM

Off to RCX. Should have pictures up tonight...

Fast5sRevo88 04.18.2009 02:47 PM

Or how about somewhere in the middle? Maybe someplace like Iowa?

Seriously, it would kinda make sense. Iowa (Des Moines in particular) is where I80 and I35 meet so road trips would be a little less onerous.

iHobby. Not too far of a drive from Iowa and its awesome. I think thats the best us midwesterners are going to get.

Metallover 04.18.2009 06:37 PM

Iowa would ROCK! Minneapolis wouldn't bee TOO bad for me, but other people might not like it. Other places in the midwest could be Omaha NE, Siouxer city IA, or Sioux falls SD. I say Des Moins IA or Sioux Falls SD.

I know and w/the new convention center in Boston, I wonder why? I guess hosting the DNC doesn't compare to the hobby show...

Des Moines gets my vote; I could walk there!

PedeBasher 04.18.2009 09:00 PM

I still say Chicago is probably the only place you guys are gana find a big time hobby show.

BrianG 04.18.2009 09:01 PM

Ugg, I've driven through Chicago once and it was enough for me to not want to go back.

Takedown 04.18.2009 09:47 PM

The Rosemont Expo Center where I-hobby is held is gigantic.
Would be hard to find another place just as big in the central states.

PedeBasher 04.18.2009 09:49 PM

Pshhh Chicago is beautiful in the right places. Just like every other place it has its good parts and bad parts but I wont argue with you if you didnt like it. I will say Rosemont is a really nice town bordering Chicago and is well worth the drive. Your choice. Hope to run into some of you guys at next years iHobby!

jnev 04.18.2009 11:16 PM

What a show. The Mini E-Revo is so sick! I'll get pictures up tonight. Although other websites will have much better pictures than me I am sure...

What's_nitro? 04.18.2009 11:23 PM

when I drove thru Chicago via I-90 I remember going past the Rosemount and when I reached Rockford the fog got really bad and I remember sleeping in my car in the McDonalds parking lot (the McDonalds is on a bridge that goes over the freeway)

jnev 04.19.2009 02:59 AM

By girls, I hope you mean cars...

Hmm... So Losi gets to claim rights to the first sensored outrunner, huh?

jnev 04.19.2009 03:20 AM

I would definitely look into buying one (supposed to come out mid-May)... if they used metric hardware. Their 1.9 MRC does, why not the 2.2? I actually got to drive their MRC (completely stock) for about 30 minutes until they told me to give away the radio, and it was great. I have always wanted to build a crawler, but after actually driving one, I definitely will. I always thought going slow would bore me... but I didn't realize I would enjoy driving it so much.
