.32 Nitro VS Bigmaxximum (PULLOUT)!!
I'm about to have a pullout:whip: with my fully upgraded 1/8 E-Maxx and a 1/8 Savage with a .32 motor in it (3.6 hp).
I hear that nitro motor is a beast! I also am witness that when it comes to Brushless, the Bigmaxximum is a beast as well. This should be really fun:lol: I will be posting a video of the challenge soon. Who do you have your money on??:rules: My bad folks Here's my setup... 100% Aluminum from bumper to bumper (pretty darn heavy as is) but I'll probably add... 1/8 hybrids from fastlane machine. 1/8 hyper 7 spyder diffs All aluminum gears in the tranny Bigmaxximum Motor Schulze 18.149 (149-200)amps 18 3700 NIMH Cells (Haven't bought my 2 11.1's lipo's yet) 16 tooth pinion & 72 tooth spur...(just for the pull-out) |
Whats the setup on the emaxx?
|
As long as your geared right, weigh as much or more that your opponent and have the torque "obviously" then you should do fine. I would throw some weights on your maxx just for this occasion. It will make it that much more difficult for the savage to fight back. The pletty shouldnt mind. Ive seen brushless e-maxx's outpull 1/5's because they are setup right. What setup are you running? 4s-6s, ESC, Tires, Gearing, Type of batts?

Where are you in NC? I'd love to watch.
|
Just gear that puppy down! Motor torque is multiplied by the total gear reduction, so the lower the gearing, the more torque it will have. Gear down, add lots of weight, and a let 'er rip! Maybe use a bunch of paralleled lipos so that the motor is free to pull whatever current it needs with minimal voltage drop.
|
Gear down because startup under load or rolling the opposite direction is iffy, try and keep a decent motor speed when pulling
|
I have a feeling the BL will win easily. The electric will have 100% torque right off the bat, while the nitro has to build up the rpms for the engine to develop torque. Although, if this was a serious contest, the nitro would probably be better with a tighter clutchbell spring and grippier shoes. That way, the motor is free to spin up more before the clutch engages (getting further up the rpm/torque curve), and then engage hard when it does. Similar to revving a 1:1 car >=3krpm and then dumping the clutch.

lol, if the clutchbell lasts that long! Talk about lots of heat build-up...

I once modded a revo tranny to have a neutral instead of reverse on the 3rd ch(clutch) it was pointless for brushless application but for nitro it might be of some use? Red line rpms would come pretty fast.
|
im pretty sure this is what you guys are talking about on the clutch.

I dont get the point of that though on a brushless setup. It would be useful on a nitro.

those nimh are gonna hurt you!
|
Lol yeah I know... I got so much cash in the truck I'm too poor to afford the lipos for it! Lol. I'm on it... It's my next investment though, that's a fact!!
The only good thing is they weigh a ton compared to the lipos so they will help give me more weight for this pullout. Also yes I'm in Charlotte Carolina... (Any locals are welcome to come watch)! We are meeting up where we all drag race at to see each others trucks this Sunday. The pullout is scheduled for next Sunday if all goes well. |

i was there ! it was real early the savage run with two Bigmaxx and two schulze on 28nimh and it eat spurgears also if you only look at the triger :diablo: inside |
As for pulling stuff around (or pulling contests) a big factor is TIRES! Try to get the meanest tires you can find.
Are you pulling on the street? Dirt or grass? A properly set up BL truck will outpull any nitro, no question. |
Hi T Bro what voltage are you running your Big maxximum on. I have one and am a little worried about running it on 6s
|
6s would be nutty, but apparently 5s is the sweet spot for the BM.
|
Pullout Delay
My truck is so heavy and that motor is so strong I can no longer use plastic wheels. I strip a new rear wheel EVERY RUN!! I need some good looking (LARGE) aluminum wheels so I can play for more than 10 minutes before I shred another platic wheel hub! Any suggestions??? Also, I'm running my truck on 18 3700 cells. If you have the shculze and the Bigmaxximum u can run 6s with no problem. I'm about to get some lipos and I'm going 6s str8 out da gate! lol. |
What size hex do you have? If it's only 14mm just move up to 17mm. I stripped a couple 14mm hexs with a stock revo 3.3, put 17mm hexs on my e-revo that has twice the torque and haven't had a problem
|
stop double posting t-bro! skellyo is selling 17mm adapters in the general section
|
Lmao! Paralyzed... Are you asking me, or are you telling me??
(Who p*ssed in your cheerios)?? Wasn't me I swear! lol. I think it might be best that you not respond to my posts from now on. Peace. |

T-Bro,
Don't mind those 2....(Here it comes), you should know that lincpimp is a pimp and _paralyzed_ is his favorite you know :yipi::party::whistle::gasp:. You should make a song about them 2 blokes, should be something hilarious, I'll even ask my friend to play something with his "cavaquinho" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IaAyqiHLduw. I can't wait to see you put on a whooping. |

Some 17mm hexes will make a huge difference. Double posting is shunned upon here, and if you can't take some heat....stay outta the kitchen! We aren't all serious here, some like to play more than others, LincPimp and paralyzed just happen to be two that like to joke around alot. You'll have to get used to it if your gonna hang out here:na: |
There are some aluminum wheels for sale on the UE forum. I'l check to see if they are still for sale.........
|
Oh joking is my profession! I just try to stop it b4 somebody get's their little feelings hurt.
I'm right here! Just don't joke with me if you can't take some raw disses in return.... N I do mean R.A.W. P.S. Lutach, I would if it was worth it, but I don't communicate with, or make songs about lonely, ensecure forum groupies who want some special attention. Sorry lol... |

Naw that wasn't raw that was real... lol. You'll know raw when you hear it. (Hopefully you never will have to). We'll see...
Go to my website (it's my signature) then click on my myspace page at the bottom. You won't hear nothing x-rated or raw because my music is clean. Whenever the time comes, I do have that 50cent/T.I. hardcore rap on stand-by lol. |
