New software version posted today...

* Added ability to change the 'Auto-Lipo' cutoff voltages
* Added ability to turn off the power-on reminder beep
* Improved low speed operation, detects and escapes cogging better
* Added ability to reverse motor direction by Castle Link software
* Added Mamba Max Pro software
* Bug fix: Rare instance where throttle was applied and controller would stay in idle

BL_RV0 05.07.2009 06:40 PM

Is this for the MMM?

Yup -- all the Mamba and Sidewinder controllers will use this update.

johnrobholmes 05.07.2009 06:50 PM

Sweet, I am going to test the low speed control again.

JThiessen 05.07.2009 07:04 PM

Thanks for the heads up, Patrick.

MetalMan 05.07.2009 07:07 PM

Awesome, just what many of us have been asking for!

gixxer 05.07.2009 07:19 PM

the auto lipo voltage change will be nice. Always like to run things a little higher then the standard 3v per cell.

also being able to turnoff the reminder beep is definitely a welcomed change.

What's_nitro? 05.07.2009 07:23 PM

Thanks Pat!

TexasSP 05.07.2009 07:27 PM

Thanks, it would have taken weeks for me to notice had you not posted this up!

SpEEdyBL 05.07.2009 07:44 PM

Ah! I can't wait!

Kcaz25 05.07.2009 08:21 PM

Patrick, it says beta, does this mean something could go wrong until its a "final"? I would like the added features, but mine is running just fine on 1.20.

Thanx,
Zack

BP-Revo 05.07.2009 10:25 PM

Sweet!

Go Patrick. Seems like you guys are going into overdrive with putting out controllers and software.

Arct1k 05.07.2009 10:38 PM

Does it do anything for brushed control?

brushlessboy16 05.07.2009 11:01 PM

Does anyone else have a problem with there MM/MMM where they come to a stop and the ESC will not go into reverse?

whitrzac 05.07.2009 11:13 PM

Do you have it set to the reverse lock-out mode? You need a moment of neutral before it will reverse.....

js058515 05.08.2009 01:30 AM

Thanks Castle team! I am loving the ability to change motor direction as well as the new auto lipo selections.

finfin 05.08.2009 05:08 AM

Thank you Patrick..... good job

Unsullied_Spy 05.08.2009 05:48 AM

Thanks! Good job on the update, I'm glad you don't put them out all the time though. I hate updating my software and controllers all the time.

brushlessboy16 05.08.2009 10:03 AM

I have yet to update them. I have my truggy, a buggy and a rustler to update- two mmm, one mm.

Arct1k 05.08.2009 10:08 AM

Started but have 11 to update...

nitrostarter 05.08.2009 10:29 AM

Updated my buggy, will try out the new software today with linc!

twisted8 05.08.2009 05:12 PM

i wonder if this will help with me trying to keep my front end on the ground ??

brushlessboy16 05.08.2009 06:04 PM

Two MMM's updated.. I dont think all the Different parameters need to be on "basic" and "advanced" because they really arent hard things to figure out..

I really like the ability to switch motor direction. Gotta test out the new starting algorithm tonite after my batts charge.

shaunjohnson 05.08.2009 06:28 PM

i have a problem...
the old v1.20 starting algorythm was so good...how am i gonna know the difference:rofl:

phatmonk 05.08.2009 08:13 PM

This is why I like the Castle Controlers, updated features via software FOR FREE!!!!!!!

Unsullied_Spy 05.08.2009 08:18 PM

Indeed. I just updated one of my ESCs and there are some nice features in there. I'm glad they were listening to us when we asked for these (there was a thread a while back about suggestions for future updates)!

Dadx2mj 05.08.2009 08:21 PM

I love the new features especially the ability to disable the annoying beep and the smoother start up.

I am really intrigued but the "Data Viewer" software. Does this mean the Mamba Max Pro will have a built in data logger or will there be an external data logger available for the existing Mamba Max and Monster Max ESC?

asheck 05.08.2009 09:02 PM

Thanks for doing exactly what you said you would. That adjustable auto lipo feature is what I've been waiting for. :D

e-mike 05.08.2009 11:09 PM

first run with the new soft...less smooth,,or hesitation of the esc on startup,,,and when i climb a hill(little asphalt hill) the esc seem not understand that he will need more power at the trottle and beging to cog or hesitate...with the 1.20 software more smoother and i can climb the same hill and no cogging or hesitation the revo goes very slowly... stop and reclimb without this little issue...

my set-up

e-revo
18/68
6 cell lipo
3pm fasst
lpr tire
mmmv3-lowest timing-punch control 40% start power=low

this set-up was for my 2 test...soft 1.21 and 1.20

nitrostarter 05.09.2009 12:23 AM

e-mike, bump the timing up. The Y turn motors love higher timing settings.

I just ran the new software with Linc and I freaked out at first. I grabbed the wrong pack and it was hitting the LVC. I swapped a pack out and everything was nice and smooth and good to go.
I got back home and tried some slow speed stuff, performed better than before thats for sure!

Good job guys.

I too would like some more info on this. Sounds really sweet. :intello:

i know that:yes: but why with the 1.20 soft run flawlessly at lowest timing and aven't a good result with the 1.21 ..also lowest timing????

lowest timing =less hot..no?

i will try today at low and normal....

NoControl 05.09.2009 09:04 AM

Haven't tried the new sw yet, just loaded it p last night, but I noticed I had a Grapher program with it whats that all about?

lutach 05.09.2009 09:06 AM

I went to update my Castle ESCs and it only shows the V1.20 which I already have for the firmware and my Castle Link is V3.12. Is there a new Castle Link version I need to install?
