Brushless setup

could you guys help me pic out a good combo from rc-monster.com , i will be running 12 cells but mostly 14. Help me out please. thx.

toby 02.27.2005 06:47 PM

i think i mihgt try running like 16 cells for maxximum power.. maybe not though probs just 14. what is your opinion on 16 cellS?

Sylvester 02.27.2005 06:48 PM

depends on what controller you are running and what motor you are running, i think i will get a fiago 9l motor with a warrior controller, i need mikes appinion.

HotnCold 02.27.2005 06:49 PM

9918 warrior + 9L feaigo = :)

Sylvester 02.27.2005 06:50 PM

so what speed will that take me to? and how much torque? i mostly want torque, but topspeed is also nice :)

toby 02.27.2005 06:51 PM

sweet... not a bad price considering a BL setup for a micro is liek 150$ (CAN)

Sylvester 02.27.2005 06:52 PM

true, we might have the same setup toby :)

toby 02.27.2005 06:53 PM

awesome. we could get together some time toooo

Sylvester 02.27.2005 06:55 PM

yup, maybe this summer, if we are both done our projects, so have u had any luck with the t-maxx?

RC-Monster Mike 02.27.2005 07:00 PM

9918 Warrior and 9L is a very nice 12-14 cells setup. The torque is plentiful for sure, and it can easily reach 50 mph with the proper gearing.

toby 02.27.2005 07:01 PM

no i haven't yet. and that is enoguh for me.

Sylvester 02.27.2005 07:02 PM

50mph!!! my tires whould fly off, i am probably getting that combo than, would i have any problems using stock gearing?

RC-Monster Mike 02.27.2005 07:09 PM

You could run the stock gearing. I generally recommend a 15 or 16 tooth pinion for 14 cell running (good starting point for general bashing. gets speed into the mid-upper 30s with very much torque and good runtime).

Sylvester 02.27.2005 07:11 PM

ok, thanks mike, now all i need is those parts to come in , those shocks i purchased from you, will i be able to only use 4 of them on g3 race suspension?

RC-Monster Mike 02.27.2005 07:13 PM

Yes, but if you do big jumps, go with 8 shocks.

toby 02.27.2005 07:14 PM

what about the 7xl or the 10l? if i am going to do this i wanna do this right

Sylvester 02.27.2005 07:15 PM

lets wait for mike to respond :) hes a brushless genious :)

RC-Monster Mike 02.27.2005 07:26 PM

The 7xl and 10L would work fine, but really need 15 or so cells to realize their power potential. Many folks run the 10L on 12 cells and get performance similar to the Novak. Then, when you want to embarrass your nitro friends, put in 16 cells! For 12-14 cell operation, the 9L will be the better option for most.

Sylvester 02.27.2005 07:28 PM

ok, but i still dont know why i want the novak system, im still thinking. thanks for the info.

toby 02.27.2005 07:32 PM

hye mike. is there a charger that can handle 16 cells? if so which oine? how fast would the 7xl go with 16 cells? with stokc gearing maybe?

phildogg 02.27.2005 07:49 PM

not to cut in but the triton can charge up to 24 cells.
phil

RC-Monster Mike 02.27.2005 07:53 PM

The triton is a nice charger because it has a lot of capabilities, but it is limited in it's LiPo charging capabilities (low charge rate capabilities).
Toby, the 7xl with 16 high voltage cells on stock gearing will get into the low 40s. It can be geared up for insanity though!

toby 02.27.2005 07:54 PM

damn i want that

Sylvester 02.27.2005 08:27 PM

im getting the 9l motor with the warrior controller.

toby 02.27.2005 08:49 PM

that sounds good.. i want one that goes fast with stock gearing though. maybe not

Sylvester 02.27.2005 08:50 PM

than the 9l motor and warrior 9918 controller is perfect! it will go 40mph+!!!

toby 02.27.2005 08:51 PM

ya but so will the 7xl. i want that plus a controller plus 16 cells

Sylvester 02.27.2005 08:53 PM

i think ill stick with 12-14 cells, if we ever get the chance , we will race!

toby 02.27.2005 08:54 PM

okay i will just stick with the 9l or w/e you are getting maybe i guess. i like lots of power thouhg

Sylvester 02.27.2005 08:56 PM

than thats the 1!!! i dont care who anyone says im sticking with that combo!

Sylvester 02.27.2005 09:47 PM

does anyone have a video of the 9l motor/ warrior combo? if so post.

Sylvester 02.28.2005 08:31 PM

Ok, now i am saving up for the Feigao brushless motor 540 9L with the Warrior 9918 controller, how fast would this baby go on stock gearing?

toby 02.28.2005 08:38 PM

that is what you were going to get and mike already covered this. i am nto a moderator or administrator but i think you need to syop spamming these forums so much

Sylvester 02.28.2005 08:38 PM

ok, sorry :( ill shut up now.

RC-Monster Mike 02.28.2005 08:39 PM

Very fast.

Sylvester 02.28.2005 08:39 PM

ok. Can i get a estimated speed ?

Superemaxx89 02.28.2005 08:47 PM

you and mike already said 40+ just 1-2 pages back

Sylvester 02.28.2005 08:48 PM

ok sorry, my head hurts today.

RC-Monster Mike 02.28.2005 08:49 PM

I posted this information a few times. You have probably seen it a few times as well. There are a few variables that would determine the actual speed, but 40 mph is fairly easily attainable.
Also, please try to consolidate your posts and questions and read around, as a lot of the questions have been answered. Each time you post, other people who are subscribed to the forum get an e-mail and will come to check the post. You have posted 168 times in two days! I do want you to enjoy the forum, but please try to minimize your post count so other people aren't going crazy trying to keep up with topics they are interested in. Some of your posts are not necessary and are filling up the forum. If you have a question, please look around and you will likely find the answer. If not, feel free to post in the appropriate thread. Also, use the general area for off topic discussion so we can keep the forums focused on helping the folks who are searching for the information they need.

rc4x4nut 02.28.2005 11:21 PM

Well said Mike. I have been laying off for a couple of days just until all the posting has calmed down. I dont mind helping people unless the questions just get too repetitive. Honestly all the questions being asked has been covered before. People should do a search prior to asking questions.

Anyways all this aside, all this talk about brushless is driving me insane. I really want to continue building my maxx but I found a project car I want to work on. I still am going to do the center diff though.:D
