9920 brakes?
I have a 9920/8s combo in a rustler, I have been running it for around 2 weeks or so and have little to no brakes.. I have reproggramed it a couple times to make sure but doesn't change anything.. It does have brakes but when trying to stop it gradually slows instead of trying to lock the tires like my other systems in st did. any ideas?lmk

could it be your radio?
|
what about the radio? I'm using the stock radio so it may be. I also have a futaba 3pm so will try that later stripped a diff yesterday so have the tranny apart..

The 9920 had a problem with some of the escs and this brake problem. Dafni on here had the same problem. It is like a brake fade.
|
I thought brake fade happened gradually? this controller has never had brakes.. If there are probs with the warriors then why recommend them all the time?

There were a few warriors with the brake fade a year or so ago, but these were replaced under warranty. The warriors are great controllers for the $$. If your controller is faulty, then I am sure it will be replaced. The few that had issues all seemed to happen at a certain temperature(when the controller got to a certain temp, the brakes would disappear). The first thing I would try is radio adjustments. Make sure you transmitter isn't set on 70/30 throw for starters. Re-program it with the 50/50 setting if it was and go from there.

The controller is set at 50-50. anything else to look for?lmk

anyone?

If you have no brakes or only very weak brakes right from the start, and you're sure about your radio, then there's something wrong with your ESC. The warrior brakes will flip any truck if there's enough traction.
|
It is quite possibly set in another mode besides car mode(would need a programming cable to change this). You can send it back my way and I will make sure it is AOK.
|
What about the throttle trim pot?
|
I'm going to try my other radio and get back with ya. right now the diff is out broke a tooth.

changed out the stock radio to my 3pm and has brakes now. don't know why it didn't with the stock radio.

Okay, so this 'If there are probs with the warriors then why recommend them all the time?' can be ignored? ;)
Cool that it's fixed though! Just try your stock radio and plug a servo in channel two, and see if it has the same turn to both sides. |

I want to echo what Serum said here. I was one of those with the "brake fade" issue with a BK Warrior 9918 last year. I think there were 3 of us. Consider this: there were at least 100 others that were sold and did NOT experience any problem. The BK Warrior controllers have gained a reputation as very durable and most people are actually shocked when they hear about one with a problem. That is why folks here initially asked you to check everything else :) Glad it works for you now! Remember that Mike is just an email away if you have questions. :) |
It is like everything else that is manufactured. Every now and then there is something that is going to get by. Nothing or no one is perfect. Even though we may try to be.
|
Yeah. it's not that BK has got a rep like schulze, which is too stubern to replace a controller when it has problems.
The damage/repaired_for_free ratio of BK is about 99.9 percent better than schulze. That is the reason why we do recommend those BK's. Not to mention that they are a fair bit cheaper. |
I also want to second that! I had a warrior with brake-fade too, and BK replaced it no problem. They have also been very helpful with other problems, and they have processed my stuff very fast.
|
What about your motor problem Daniel?
|
Alex told me he will have a look at it, and I'm sure when he cant figure it out, I'll get a replacement.
I didn't get around to call them last week, but there's no rush yet. Plus, I sent it by Economy Mail (takes a week to germany) |
