$100 bounty to whoever finds out were to buy the cells seproate... |
Interesting margin 4 cells at $10 = $120

Meaning, those cells cost $10 a piece, there a 4 in that pack. So $40 cost
$120 -40 $80 profit margin, NICE!! Those are just A123's am I not correct? |
NO, there not A123s!!! there flat cells!!!
|
Just wait and see what will happen when the less educated (There are a few out there) try to get 270A out of those. I guess there will always be these types of over rated stuff when the companies that do over rate them can still find morons out there who just believes what the companies says. Oh well, it's good that I still have a bit of common sense lol. If I do offend anyone with what I said above, then you must be one of the morons I mentioned.
|
I was pointing at the 270a claims, I was pointing at a LiFe batt that has FLAT CELLS!!!!!!!:yipi: and is a somewhat standard size
|
Sniff sniff..
I smell Bs :) |
Lets not give maxamps a hard time here. They may be just trying to overcharge for a legitimate product for a change....

Didn't a123 release a flat celled prototype not to long ago? It looks like maxamps is in bed with more that one company.......
|
OOOh, I saw "Porra's" posts.
|
Poor Porra he never had a chance...
Come on HOBBYCITY!!! |
We all know who porra is right? I have a feeling he is sporting some alligator skin pimp shoes atm...
|
Dude they HAD to come up with something that wont Puff the 3rd time out...:na:
|
Just wait and see when some real data from users comes out. I just hope nobody tries to get 270A out of those, you no what, maybe it's possible with a 540A GTB or maybe a 780A (3120A Max.) Ko Propo  and our super 540 little motors. Now that MA has the super powerful cells they might have even went with the super wires and ultimate connectors to handle all those continuous AMPs. I think I'm going to contact NASA and tell them how they can explore the universe with unlimited power from a MA packs and very powerful brushless ESCs. Will they get any technology award for it (They should for marketing scams lol)?
|
If maxamps is coming out with these cells the other companies won't be far behind... I'd wait. Knowing maxamps the construction and matching on these cells is probably going to suck.

James, are you going to try some of those MA super Life packs? |
I forsee crossdrilled powerwires in the near future as an option.

^^ I think he gets the $100 bounty!
Edit- No wait- those are VERY LOW discharge cells..... |

Hey now, it probably would run ice cold for a hour; but one second over and it'll be kissing 300 degrees and puffing smoke like diesel. To bad you ditched the manual in the trash like a real man, cause of you had read it you'd have known ''# 666 of warranty & return claims'' states that over an hour of constant use is ''product abuse and therefore void of warranty'':rules:. It's a shame that manual is half way to a Kansas land fill by now, Have fun arguing with the customer service like a little bi*ch remember, your a real man. (sorry Ive been reading to many ''mothers car wax'' adds in my car magazines ) |

You cant use them in a R/C if they only support a 45A MAX discharge. Any vehicle small enough to run at less than that will be too small to hold the cells.
|
I forgot to mention that the MA ultra unobtaium super extreme amazing award winning technology pack has a 15C charge rate. Hello 1:1 car makers, these cells are the bomb diggity. Headline news......MA just announced it'll be the only supplier for mambo jambo battery for the Auto, Aviation, Satellite and Energy industry.
|
So wait, A123 is owned by Enerland, who we all know makes the best Lipo cells available to the public. Did A123 lease out the chemistry to whoever makes maxamps cells? Gotta figure now that GM is about to become Government Motors and the A123 powered Volt might never see production, licensing a chemistry out to someone else able to produce a more space efficient cell than their unpopular round batteries might not be such a bad idea. Lets not forget that MaxAmps doesn't really make anything except exaggerated claims and inflated price points, they buy the cells from the lowest bidder and market them.
Someone make a 5s or 6s pack, I want to see some hard data logging. |
I'll start the collection fund, you can all pay me to assemble a MaxAmps "green pack"

I was being scarcastic. They just have to over rate the cells by 600%... |
Who here has an extremely MA style geared vehicle to try those awesome packs lol? Oh crap, how well will that pack do in my TC3 with my 1.5T and 200A esc that has brought my 2S 25C 5000mAh pack to bellow 1V? I guess I should start kissing MA butt talk (Forest Gump style) to get a free pack to test out lol.
|
Hmm...torn between what would be a very price Maxamps LiFe flat cell battery gamble, or something of equal or greater value at same or less cost.
|
I've broken open A123 cells before with no excitement. It's a very good stable chemistry. Just not well known.
I think I'll side with Freeze: someone else can do the testing, I'll put the money into my 1:1 truck payment sooner than buying something with a MA label on it. I'd look like a fool showing up at a race track with a nicely made RC8T and a MA pack sitting in it. |
Quote:
You're correct, though. A 90C continuous rating would get you over 1000A out of that pack. Castle needs to hurry up with their UMMMM (ultra-mega mamba monster max) so there is an ESC to handle all of that POWAAHHHHH!! |
Me no want thread to get closed - please no bash MA - Each to there own...
|
sweet, its back:lol:
