My New Turnigy 2S 7.4V 5000mAh LiPos!

Just received em today!

Ordered them on June 10, 13 days ago, in the morning...

Got them 13 days later! YAY

Checked em all out with my voltmeter.

Scared myself to death.
My voltmeter read 0.00 and I was like.... Oh crap, dead cell, then I noticed my voltmeter was on the wrong thing!

Anywho, all cells check out to 3.86 except one cell, checking out to 3.87....

7.72 and 7.73V each.

Look awesome, scanned the stickers for future references.
Can't wait to charge em up and use em!

Just an FYI, these wires are HUGEEEE

10GA anyone?

Makes the balancer wires feel like they're 555555GA.
Soo tiny!

Anywho, just thought I'd let you guys know :]
Anyone else pick these up?

rawfuls 06.22.2009 01:39 PM

That's a review!?
Pshaw

My reviews are like 2 pages long!

I'm running them in my ESavage, needs a powerplant, and in my EMaxx which has KD 970s.
The ESavage will have a stock motors so far.

You dropped a lot on those bitches... You think 15c will be enough?

rawfuls 06.22.2009 02:13 PM

HobbyCity guys say it's 20-30C.

IIRC, it was MisterCrash who uses em in his EBRE, and says they're better than his premium packs..

Anyone know how to remove the stupid red plug without resoldering a new connector on?

For now at least..

revo guy 06.22.2009 02:14 PM

the turnigy 15c packs are all actually 20c

rawfuls 06.22.2009 02:20 PM

DINGDINGDINGDING!

Anyone know how to remove the stupid red connectors?
No tabs...

I remember that 15 -20/30c now!

The red connectors really don't come off. I managed to get one half out after I just cut the wires but i couldn't get the male I think out of the red plug. You're best off cutting the wires and soldering or leaving the red connector on and using bullet connectors carefully.

rawfuls 06.22.2009 02:40 PM

Alright....

I'll do that.
Go powerpoles today anyways.

Anyone know if you need to plug in the main plug and balancer to just balance charger?

brushlessboy16 06.22.2009 03:15 PM

Found this hilarious on the battery reviews...

Uh oh.....
I think I have to ditch these packs then.
They must be terrible.

JUST KIDDING :]

Glad to hear about that

rawfuls 06.24.2009 12:11 AM

Just wanted to update you guys!

My first pack took in 2084mAh charging from 1A (variable decided by the silly charger) in 138:56 minutes!
That's... about 2.4 hours!

My second pack took in 2067mAh charging from 1A (variable decided by the silly charger) in 149:39 minutes!
That's... about 2.5 hours!

All my batteries are treated like this.
Upon arrival they get checked with a voltmeter, each and every cell through balance tap..
Then they get tossed onto the charger to get charged at a VERY low amperage, like 1A, or even .5A! Then they get discharged, and recharged, then tossed into the original box until I can reuse it.

I'm just starting to record all my data via pictures.

My NiMH are just the same, well, 2 packs of NiMH.. Elite's, treated the same, in intervals from .5 to 5A charge/discharge...

Good god that was a long night x3!

Anyways...
Some very good packs, speaking form what I've experienced already.

Starting to mod up my battery boxes I picked up at RadioShack, and will have a full blown tutorial, with only after pictures, who knows, maybe even step by step pictures! :]

---

EDIT:

You can also see the ghetto wiring harness I had to make up, becuase I couldn't wait until I changed out the plugs :neutral: New packs make me giddy, what can I say...

I'm actually REALLY liking those hobbycity connectors..
Really, 4mm bullets, really long bullets actually, longer than usual (shut up linnnccc )..... And the housing seems pretty legit.

In case I forget anything, like my harnesses, I can grab one of my dads box of electrical crap (He has like 20 boxes.... Electrical Engineer FTW) dig out 2 4mm connectors, and just use those.

I swear, all electrical engineer uses are 4mm bullets.
And .3mm bullets, those things are so small in diameter, I could probably snap in half with two pinkies!

Okay, rant over

[/rant]

rawfuls 06.24.2009 01:06 AM

I also have stickers I scanned.
If you want the nicer ones, where I made em nice and straight, PM me, and I'll send ya the PDF....

You should write lyrics for mix-a-lot...

" I like em round and long and with really tight housings, I just can't help myself I'm actin' like rawbuns, now here's my scandal, I want get em home, and uh!, solder up, uh, uh. I ain't talkin' bout maxamps, cause overpriced lipos are made for boys!" "I like em real cheap and shiny, now wheres my hobby city, makes me wait for shippin', beggin" for some action from the mailman!" (whip noise)....

You get the idea...

rawfuls 06.24.2009 01:43 AM

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

That's great.
Wonder how long it took you to come up with that!

About 4 mins. Glad you liked it. Feel free to add to it if you like. Plus you can do a search on my threads and find the original mix-a-lot thread, good for a laugh.

I have been remaking popular songs for years now. Kinda in a weird al way but usually R rated... My friends actually had a rather long conversation recently when we were out and they decided that I had ruined many of their favorite songs...

rawfuls 06.24.2009 01:48 AM

Oh gawd, just re-read it.

Too cool, wish I had some talent like that...
Or any talent at all... :neutral:

Cartwheels 06.24.2009 01:56 AM

Do you know what are the dimensions of those are? I don't trust hobbycity as far as their dimensions go.

I am sure you have some talent of some sort. I developed most of what I call "talent" during my college years (1.5 to be exact) as I was exceedingly bored most of the time, and discovered the joys of drinking in class, and talking attractive women into taking my notes and studying with me. If you new what I looked like you would be surprised that I was even slightly successful at the latter. I would also be very bored at home and found myself taking stuff apart to figure out how it worked. This eventually led to gunsmithing and rc. Plus I have had to fix full sized cars since I was 12 (dad bought an auto body shop then).

So you are young, just get some experience and have a good time. Talents will develop as time goes on.

rawfuls 06.24.2009 02:13 AM

Apparently my talent is to fix, repair, and build computers.
Computer engineers, like we need them today ^_^

BL_RV0 06.24.2009 12:14 PM

It took you that long to figure out what James was talking about?!

rawfuls 06.24.2009 12:38 PM

Ummm what?

rawfuls 06.25.2009 07:36 PM

Cartwheels and Junkman,
I'll fish out my dads calipers tonight and get you the measurments, plus some pictures :D

Sorry for being late.
