New Lid and Shoes....8T 1.0.
Do you guys think the wing is sitting too low. Its as low as I could possibly mount the body.

That's pretty sick. I love the new 8T body. From this angle the wing looks fine, but if it's lower than the rear edge of the body I would raise it up at least to that level.

The wing looks good and so does the rest of the truck |
Originally I was going to run Black wheels and white body...but this was my last minute decision. The wheels have yet to be glued and all I am waiting for now is my balance plug adapters for the Neu Lipos.
The wing is like a hair under the height of the body...any suggestions on raising it a smidge...or lowering the body more.
That set up does look pretty sweet the more I look at it
Oh, the wing isn't adjustable? You could fab an Al bracket to raise it up a bit I guess. otherwise I'd just leave it if it's that close.
I would dye the rims. White rims look like crap once you run them a few times. After a while they are covered in dirt and look like sh!t.
Sorry, still not a fan of the 2.0 body. Honestly after running a losi mini late-model for 2 seasons I'm not a fan of Losi either!
Well I know there are lovers and non-fans of Losi...I have been both before. I am mixing it up by building a SC8-E to counter this rig. I am really just building to break up the monotony at work. My Rc's can always put a smile back on. But I will be hitting the track on my off days when I have time just for fun.
So I have gathered that the 2.0 shock tower in the rear sits lower then the 1.0. Can anyone tell me if the shocks are the same length?
I've been wondering how the badlands MT tires compare to truggy tires in size. They look good.

DesertRC is that the stock losi 8ight 2.0 body or a proline 8ight 2.0 body?
Jconcepts Punisher:yes:I wanted the 2.0 Losi body but couldnt justify the price...Im cheap. lol.
are you using the stock 8t body mounts or did you buy the 8t 2.0 body mounts and swap them out?
Im using the old shiot (1.0)...but I have been informed that is why the rear is sitting level like the 1.0 Truggy bodies. With the 2.0 towers the wing would sit avove the body line much more.
I bet you could just drill a couple new holes for the mounts in the 1.0 towers and have the same 'look' w/o spending any money and shaving an oz. off at the same time :)
I will have to take a better look at it tomarrow, that's a good idea.
For the sake of aesthetics and function, I think the wing could go higher (at least 1/2" above the body)... It's looking a little funky with that body.
If you are going for the streamline look, just go wingless. Alien |
I like the look of the body but the angle throws it off. +1 for dying the wheels
Going to get some rit today...how long do I soak?? I will post the results.
whats the status of the build? i am really liking the look. got some updated pics?
Sorry guys I think I will be leaving it the same with the mounts...I kind of like it and I dont want two sets of wholes. As far as progress I have worked over 60 hours in the last week. I have hardly had time for even sleep. I am taking 3 days off now that the holiday is over so I will try to get some stuff done.
Yeah I have white dish wheels stained with red clay and they do look sad.
so that is a 2.0 body u are using without any mods to the car or bod its self?
For god sakes, For all the threads you have created you would think you can do something by yourself, Look at post 16....
douche bag, dont like it? dont read it! now lick it and shut up.

LOL. i think i like you. my apology I asked because he never answered yes to the question.
So what kiind of issue if any did you run into while mounting this body on your 8ight-t 1.0? i the wing issue. Anything else
Sorry have not been on in a while...no issues with mounting, normal trim and perfect fitment, I just payed close attention to where to put the post holes. I have yet to even run it, my wife and I have bought a new home and closed on it finally, lots of work. My rc's have been in boxes for almost a month.
Has anyone tried to put a short course body on an 8T? I was thinking of doing that, but I'm not sure if I should buy a Slash size or a Slayer size to try to fit.
You will need to make the width of a buggy and the length of a truggy. Yes it has been done...before the SC8-e hit the streets. You can also use the skid/bumpers off the sc8 with a little fabbing. It looks perfect after completion. I have to say a little pricey tho. Thats why I just bought the sc8-e instead. I originally was going to build the SC8ight. If you just set the sc8 body on the Truggy the arms are way too long and it looks silly.
You can actually use a slash size body on a losi buggy pretty easily and fab the bumpers from sc8-e or off the slayer. Then just some SCT wheels/tires and let the eating of slashes for lunch begin!!:mdr:
