I dont have a preference.
So far no, the left/right bias is about the same, with the batteries on the opposite side as the motor, i might move the servo to the motor side.

only a short little vid where I nose dive'd the truck dislodging the esc..:intello:

suspension is wayy to soft, put 60w oil in it and that helped a bit, reduced the front droop, and geared the thing up...

and paralyzed the cen has been gone for almost a month, and I hadn't said anything about it

BL_RV0 07.03.2009 11:29 PM

Nice truck. Sounds like your gears may be meshed too tight though.

brushlessboy16 07.03.2009 11:39 PM

They are not, its the blasted steel spur gear making all that racket :)

Ill probably put the stock slipper and spur on to quiet it down a bit.

BL_RV0 07.03.2009 11:43 PM

in that case all is well.

Mentat 07.04.2009 06:38 AM

_paralyzed_ 07.04.2009 07:29 AM

p.s. In your video you state you, "dislodged your MMM" and I thought how funny that statement might be to a non r/c person that had no idea it was an acronym. It reminded me of rap lyrics that just throw out sounds.

Uuuuuuuuhhhhh! I dislodged my MMM!

Thats what she said

Well I have come to realize that my rear suspension is definately too soft, the rear compresses wayy too much, hopefully i can get firmer springs at the track, so the ass of my truck is not all loosey goosey:yes:

brushlessboy16 07.07.2009 02:12 PM

Alrighty time for a bit of an update :)

Took the revo to the track this weekend and had to work out all of the bugs that any new truck goes through.. screws backing out, and tweaking.. I ended up going with traxxas Blue springs in the rear which helped support the weight of the batteries motor etc, and i moved the original rear springs (green) to the front. Ride height was shafts level all the way around with a Front traxxas sway bar only and 60w oil. Truck handled phenomenally well, steering was very precise but had too much steering for the short wheelbase.. Dialed my dual rate down to 70% from 100. As for power.... haha do I have a story to tell...

During my second heat i got into a pretty heated battle with a guy in a Revo platinum edition, 4 or 5 laps we went at it, dicing and such, his truck was better setup then mine was and he could take all the washboard sections and rough stuff wayy faster- and he was a great driver to boot- he was a great pass blocker.... so anyways- were coming out of the washboard section before the 90 degree sweeper and the front strait, he dusted me through the whoops as i was rolling then-he was doubling them. once i hit the strait i through caution to the wind and gunned it, my truck came blasting by that poor little 3.3 like it was standing still(with the front wheels in the air  ) i was past him before he hit second gear....

Whole lot of story even though it happened in about 5 seconds... I could here him down the other end of the stand saying "That cant be legal" brushless FTW!

So taking the advice of the track guru's im purchased the revo 3.3 chassis (more wheelbase) to help my truck through the rough and keep the front wheels down, along with a clear 3.3 body. while im at it I am going to black the truck out, no more grey, or silver- to match my motor.. I was expirimenting with different paints earlier and came up with this... I think it looks sick (this is the spare 2.5R chassis)

PS I also don't get to see your pics at work - so have no idea what your paint looks like...

Bondonutz 07.07.2009 04:00 PM

Hey Brushlessboy, Google "Aluminum Anodizeing" and you should see few websites that explain in painful detail how to anodize at home. At the very least you'll find it interesting ?
Glad your enjoying your new revo, great trucks !

In the last picture you can see some flaws in the casting process.. the set screw of the couple grinds on a peice of slag on the case. nothing a dremel wont fix.
More to come, im heading outside to work on the truck now :)

brushlessboy16 07.11.2009 02:06 AM

UPDATE

Got some things done today, but have a long way to go to get the truck done by sunday

Heres what I have so far

Painted the new 3.3 chassis
http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...0/revo/016.jpg
http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...0/revo/017.jpg

Modded a spare set of bulkheads i had as a test
http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...0/revo/018.jpg
http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...0/revo/019.jpg

Modified the stock drive yolk to fit until i get my rc monster pieces
http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...0/revo/024.jpg
http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...0/revo/026.jpg

I also took the stock revo wheel output shaft and hacked the end of the piece off, then had to grind it down to go into the case and spin without binding.

started to shave the cases, so far the rear bulks are about 80 percent done, but still need some tweaking..

Things to be done by sunday:
-Paint body (not here yet)
-Modify front diff and housing
-complete rear bulkheads
-start and complete front bulkheads
-Finish swapping everything over to the 3.3 chassis
-Install new stub shafts at the wheels (not here yet)

The body and stub shafts are in route, and should be delivered tommorow.. Lets all pray :)
I just got off a 9 hr shift and its 2am. im going to bed.

Crap my body deliever has been delayed... i guess ill just mod the 2.5 to fit.

to be honest. i have no idea what your talking about

magman 07.11.2009 03:24 PM

Nice updates....keep em coming!

TexasSP 07.11.2009 04:06 PM

The truck looks to me more like and F250 and I didn't see any jeans on the cloths line. Although I will note that line drying helps clothes last longer while reducing shrinking and fading at the same time! :)

I was jus about done the front diff, when disaster struck. i lodged a quarter inc drill bit in my hand..p now the truck is waiting for the driveshafts to be installed on the diff, and the front suspension to be reassembled

Mentat 07.11.2009 07:13 PM

OMFG its a Lonley African-American Wound! The war is on!

TexasSP 07.11.2009 10:03 PM

Drill bits in the hand are a bad thing for sure. I once sent a 3/8's bit through my left hand thumb. It was excruciating, then to top it off, I reaggravated the wound and did it again. I do not recommend this to anyone, it was not fun.
