Will there be one to fit the HPI Flux (CC) Motors with that larger heatsink in the middle of the can?

Rivermaxx 09.16.2009 11:31 PM

How do you recommend we hook it up joe?

The blower plugs into the receiver. Pretty Simple

Rivermaxx 09.16.2009 11:36 PM

You can turn it on and off with a third channel?

sikeston34m 09.16.2009 11:39 PM

I would think not, but correct me if I'm wrong here guys.

The three pins in the receiver socket are:

Negative
Positive
PWM Channel - Pulse Width Modulation

I'm sure the blower only picks up the Negative and Positive Pins.

If it's plugged in, it's gonna run.

Rivermaxx 09.16.2009 11:43 PM

I know there is a switch that makes it so you can turn the third channel on and off like a light switch.

RCZILLA 09.17.2009 12:56 AM

$12.99 is a nice price

simplechamp 09.17.2009 01:08 AM

Just ordered one. Anyone else?

FG101C 09.17.2009 01:59 AM

Will it make my car faster?......

The 3rd channel will do that with a servo or any other device designed to operate on 1-2ms pulses. But so long as the fan is plugged in and the receiver has power applied to it the fan will blow, regardless of the 3rd channel (or any channel for that matter).

Freezebyte 09.17.2009 03:05 AM

Do you need 3 channels to power this? Like on a Flux? Does it turn on at a certain temp or run all the time? I'm intrigued, despite fan haters like Brian

shaunjohnson 09.17.2009 03:16 AM

cool....or cold, idea...but like brian...i still dont like fans

It’s always better to reduce the heat generated in an electric power system is by better engineering than to try and cool things with fans and other gimmicks. Sure, a fan can get you a few degrees, but it is much better to have a superior design to begin with.
Contradiction?

Whats the flow rate of the fan?

bcltoys 09.17.2009 07:26 AM

Use at your own risk, your just covering up a problem. Not geared right.

FastXR 09.17.2009 08:14 AM

Will the blower work on a non-finned original Neu 1515 motor?

There's a big difference between using a fan to make a hot, overgeared setup barely usable, and using a fan to keep a cool, properly geared setup even cooler.

Agreed, but some don't realize this...

If you have a batt port where bec or receiver pack plugs in and you are not using it you can run it in there.

Castle, whats the official word on this, me likey fans to keep things cool despite what the fan haters think

sikeston34m 09.17.2009 10:32 PM

You can run a fan off ANY unused port on a receiver.

They all have power for as long as your receiver has power.

big greg 09.17.2009 10:55 PM

its all about the plug, most likley it would come with a rx plug

I would say it's more about the voltage rating. The plug can be easily changed, but you are stuck powering the fan at the specified voltage. I would guess it's a 5V fan so it can run directly off of the receiver though, and it would follow that they would use a standard RX/servo connector. I don't see why it would be anything else than 5V.

big greg 09.17.2009 11:48 PM

very true, 12v fans dont spin very fast on 6v lol

It would be good for those who do realize it and properly geared vehicles. A cooler electronic is a happier electronic!

phatmonk 09.18.2009 03:24 PM

Will it fit the Tekno Neu 1515/1.5D/F? its 44mm and the Castle Neu is 42mm

phatmonk 09.18.2009 03:59 PM

It will fit my Neu 1515 finned motor.It fits 1-1/2" =1.50" =38mm to 1-7/8" =1.87" or 47mm the Neu is 1.73 inches or 44mm.I ordered 1

Freezebyte 09.18.2009 04:09 PM

Damnit, upon closer inspection it looks like there is no way this will work/fit with the Flux from the chassis and motor mount design. Damn!

Rivermaxx 09.18.2009 06:25 PM

You guys that ordered one post up a review when you get it . Fit, quality, airflow. etc, etc.

Will do!

hemiblas 09.18.2009 09:04 PM

I like it, even though I think you guys took the idea from my avatar, lol. Next time I'm getting a patent. Fans are the only thing that have been keeping my 7xl from thermalling on every run, but ya in those cases they seem to only mask the problem of an inefficient motor. Ever since I pulled it out and converted it to a Castle 2200 I havent had to check temps any more and I just dont care. The Castle motor is leagues ahead in efficiency and power.

My CC Blower came in the mail today. I have to go shoot darts right now but I'll post pics and some first impressions when I get home later.

Yes PLEASE do! You know I'm really curious about these.

I would like to see something a little better than that "cartoon" picture they have. LOL
