I hope I don't have to send it to Castle!!!

sabongi 09.22.2009 06:53 PM

Emaxx_Quebec 09.22.2009 08:08 PM

Yes, when I try to setup with the recever, mmm keep beeping when I apply reverse.
I connected it to castlelinkand everything seem to be ok.

Oh duh, sorry. You already tried that.... Would it be a pain to reset the settings on the radio?

Garcol 09.22.2009 10:15 PM

I know I had to reset my maximums for throttle (both forward and reverse) before I could calibrate radio to ESC. Course I dont have a Futaba either. Then it would calibrate and I could make radio adjustments after that.

littlejohn 09.22.2009 10:50 PM

do u have abs turned on?

bryan 09.22.2009 10:55 PM

Reset everything to default and try again. Did you just uplod new firm ware?

Emaxx_Quebec 09.23.2009 09:03 AM

When I plug everything ( without toutching castle link) No Reverse. ( it was correct before that.
Nobodie toutch the trasmitter.
Tryed to upload newer version ( 1.22 Beta) then nothing.
Tryed to reload 1.21 but nothing again.
By nothing, I mean I can't calibrate the Break ( reverse) to the ESC. It keep beeping when I apply full breaking
Everything was working good before I take it apart:grrrrrr::cry:

Sammus 09.23.2009 09:32 AM

That's exactly what happens when my throttle channel isn't reversed on my 3PM... but you've already tried that...sorry I can't offer help.

Matthew_Armeni 09.23.2009 10:28 AM

You should have your throttle ch set to normal, not reverse. I don't know if that'll fix the problem, but I know when I had my transmitter setup with the throttle ch in reverse my ESC did some funky things.

BrianG 09.23.2009 10:49 AM

Unless it's a Futaba radio, where the throttle is reversed normally...

bryan 09.23.2009 12:45 PM

I had the same problem about 1 month ago.i removed all castle files from my computer ,re-downloaded and problem solved. Mine also would not recognize reverse durring calibration

I'll try that

Emaxx_Quebec 09.23.2009 05:52 PM

Still not recognize reverse ( break) when calibration
firm ware 1.22

bryan 09.23.2009 07:15 PM

Do you have access to another computer ? I honestly do not think that its your esc. I could be wrong.try downloading the new firm ware 3.161 or whatever it is."look for errors before you finish"

Emaxx_Quebec 09.25.2009 10:08 AM

Not fixed yet.
When I reverse the trottle to normal position on the Futaba it go backward and the red light is on on the MMM.
Still can't breaking with the transmitter.
How can I tell if a Futaba sending signal?
Steering:OK
Trottle: OK
Ch3: OK
Break ( Reverse): Nothing

I'll try another radio tonight

Emaxx_Quebec 09.30.2009 09:14 AM

I just got time to work on this issue.
It appear that it'll not bo the MMM.
I tryed to calibrate the MMM with my old TQ3 and it worked perfectly.
So it'll probably be the Futaba 3PM.
I'll give you news.

Emaxx --

Sometimes the easiest way to fix a radio problem is to plug a servo into the throttle channel, and see what the throttle is actually doing. This way you can visually confirm exactly what the throttle channel is doing. This makes programming the radio a little easier.

When you say to plug a srevo( steering) in the throttle chanel, you mean once mmm is on or before open it.
When I hook up a servo to the throttle channel to see if it is working correctly, it would not even arm. ( normal I think since the MMM is hook to ch1)

No, just run the RX and servos with a battery. Plug an extra servo into the throttle channel to see what the throttle is ACTUALLY doing.

You don't need the MMM hooked up -- just make sure the servo moves as expected, i.e., when you hit throttle the servo moves one direction, and when you hit brake the servo moves the other direction.

Emaxx_Quebec 09.30.2009 11:40 AM

Since I never use an rx batt pack, how can I power the rx with a batt.
Wich slot on the rx do I plug the batt. What voltage that batt it use to be. not my 4s pack I suppose?
Sorry for the noob Q.

Jarvis 09.30.2009 11:50 AM

Sorry for the noob Q.

Just like the nitros, use a 5 cell NiMH pack, or 4 alkaline AA's. The alkalines will be fine if this is just a temporary test. I would not use lipo because 1s is too low and 2s (or more) is too high.

Emaxx_Quebec 09.30.2009 11:58 AM

I'll try that tonight.

or you could plug the esc into the batt port on the RX...

Garcol 09.30.2009 01:04 PM

If I remember correctly I have to set my spectrum radio to 150% (maximum) endpoint on both forward and reverse before I can calibrate it to my ESC's.
I am not familiar with the Futaba radio though.
Just a thought?

Emaxx_Quebec 09.30.2009 01:13 PM

Probleme solved!!!!!!!!!

I really don't know how but now it works.
I talk with Futaba reps. and they told me to try this:
Quote:

Try going in to a new model and reset it. Then set just the ESC up and see how it works.
And Bammmm!!!!
I can normaly calibrate the mmm and drive reserve like

:mdr:

Garcol 09.30.2009 01:20 PM

Hehe, good job!
Glad you got it fixed.
Love the "Mator" reverse driving...lol

Andrew32 09.30.2009 02:03 PM

i wonder if you had ABS set up and it was causing issues with reverse?

Emaxx_Quebec 09.30.2009 02:12 PM

I'll write all the setting of model1 on a sheet and compare to model2 tonight.
Thanks all for your help!!!!!!!!
