MGM compro 120 amp 12 cell car controller

Does anybody know anything about it? I need a controller that can handle the hottest motor i can put in my b4 on 7.4v (maybe a lehner 1520 4turn hi-amp).

coolhandcountry 02.20.2006 11:39 PM

not sure about the 120. It should. If not the 16016 should.

squeeforever 02.20.2006 11:54 PM

the 120 would be WAY more than enough. a 9920 might be a good candidate.

Can i disable reverse for racing and is it 99 amps constant or burst.

boss 302 02.21.2006 07:57 AM

it is 99 amps constant

ygguB naM 02.21.2006 11:23 PM

I think i still need the 120, the motors i plan on running pull over 100amps continuous the 99amp would fry.

MetalMan 02.22.2006 12:05 AM

Correction, the motor that you want to run that many have said to ditch and to go with a higher voltage setup ;).

squeeforever 02.22.2006 05:51 PM

i think that the 9920 would be fine but its your money...

The 9920 can be ran with no reverse or brakes.

You mean for a RC10B4? If your racing it don't waste you time with any of those controllers and get a Novak GTB system. They are perfect for 1/10th racing. They were designed by guys who actually race cars, not guys who fly planes.

I heard a lot of problems from that controller and sensord isn't as fast as sensorless.

Not true. It's just that novak motors aren't as fast as most others. The new velociti 4.5R motor sounds fairly nippy though

WheelNut 02.27.2006 11:48 PM

The speed potential of the Novak is not as good as a sensorless system correct. But if you are racing on a dirt track I can absolutely garuntee you that would be happier with a LRP or Novak system. You will never be able to lay down more power than the Novak 6.5 puts out. I mean the worlds were won with a 14t brushed motor. 2wd buggy racing is all about being smooth and in control, huge power is not what you want. Beside something like the Novak 5.5 or 4.5 motor are insanely fast anyways. People have also done direct comparisons between the Novak and sensorless sytems, they are actually just as fast.

I was looking at the Bk electronics Worrior controller and i got some questions, is it 120 amps constant or burst, and can i disable reverse?

RC-Monster Mike 03.08.2006 10:17 AM

Reverse can be disabled on the MGM or Warrior controllers. Both 120 amp versions are rated for 120 amps continuous as well(MGM and BK). If you plan on pushing the envelope, the 9920 warrior is plenty, as is the MGM 12012. For racing with 6 cells or 2s Lipo, I agree with the above recommendations. The Novak and LRP systems are perfectly matched for low cell count racing with smooth, consistent, driveable power. For pushing the envelope, the systems available here are the ticket. :)

edit - I also carry the Novak and LRP systems, actually. :)

Thanks.

My pleasure. :)

The bk 120 20 warrior or micro can have the brakes and reverse diabled. It can have just reverse to. It is a 120 amp constant.
