Turn on your TV's and go to CNN!!

There is the craziest thing going on right now over Colorado! Turn on your TV's and go to CNN, it's live. A 6 year old climbed into a homemade helium "balloon" and untied the tether, and is now floating at around 7000 feet, at the mercy of the wind!

suicideneil 10.15.2009 03:06 PM

Anyone got an airgun near by... :mdr:

What I want to know is, where the hell were the parents when this happened, or maybe they were part of it? Publicity stunt maybe?

_paralyzed_ 10.15.2009 03:25 PM

they said there are conflicting stories and they are unsure if a boy is really in there.

If it's true I feel for the family, you can't live off breathing helium, that boy is toast.

The rescuers are gonna need to free fall and parachute to save the little shit ?

Somebody just told me on AIM that the boys name is Falcon? Not sure if that is true, but if it is, well maybe he can match the performance of the bird if his balloon pops. If he reaches 100MPH in a free fall, his name will be very fitting. (Sorry, that comment is probably really mean, but I had to say it...)

EDIT: According to CNN he is descending now.

Krawlin 10.15.2009 03:38 PM

It's on the ground! Why arent they opening the door?

t9dragon 10.15.2009 03:40 PM

The balloon is down on the ground now.

Krawlin 10.15.2009 03:42 PM

Now they think he fell out...

t9dragon 10.15.2009 03:43 PM

The boy was not inside of the balloon.

suicideneil 10.15.2009 04:03 PM

There is no spoon....

bruce750i 10.15.2009 04:47 PM

Maybe the kid didn't know he had lifted off and went to get out and fell.

JThiessen 10.15.2009 05:04 PM

No, he's hiding somewhere, still scared to death about his old man is going to do to him for letting the balloon go. Either that or this whole thing is publicity stunt - any family that goes on Wife Swap has an ADD disorder....

Krawlin 10.15.2009 06:23 PM

They found him, he was hiding. He is alive.

He was in the garage attic in a box of all places....

I was about to type something similar. It just sounds like they just needed more attention. This type of things happens to a lot of people that appear on TV land a lot. We could have a list of them going and it would take a while to list them all.

I take it you know that ADD means "attention deficit disorder", but you also probably think that it means they suffer from a lack of attention from others or want a bunch of attention.... But that's actually not what it means, when someone has ADD (attention deficit disorder), it means they can not pay attention to something for long, basically a short attention span. Not trying to be rude, just seems like you used the term in the wrong way, don't want any off information floating around.

Yeah, I do know that.....intent was in the meaning of the term, not the actual disease.

It's not considered a desease but a "afflicting condition", I think ?
I wasn't paying attention, my mind was wondering.

suicideneil 10.16.2009 10:57 AM

Funny, back in the old days kids with ADD or ADHD would get a swift whack with a cane, then they'd magically be cured...
