SlowKrawl's Flux
Well I don't have too much to show just yet, however parts have started showing up so I figured I'd take some pics of it. I got my extended drive cups, aluminum big bore shocks and RPM arms in the mail today. I am still waiting for:
Extended TVP's Hyperion 720I charger 30A PS Bulletproof diffs I also have to figure out a body for this thing, maybe a normal savage body will work. Hopefully, I'd like to do another f-250 body. Or just keep the gnarly zip-tied together one I have haha. Onto the pics: I took some pics of the nitro diff gears, because I am kind of surprised how good of shape they are in. I was also farting around with the close-up mode on the camera. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y64.../Savage006.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y64.../Savage005.jpg Extended drive cups: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y64.../Savage001.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y64.../Savage002.jpg New big bores: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y64.../Savage003.jpg Aaaand I took a pic of the state my workbench is in. It was semi-clean till the savage came apart, now there is just shit everywhere! Ah well, it's a workbench not a shelf for "pretty rc's". http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y64.../Savage004.jpg I forgot to take pics of the RPM arms and how I had to trim them just like freeze did. Maybe tomorrow night when I tear into it again I will get some more pics of the "evil" ford body too. |
LOL, for anyone who notices, yes those are tin-foil wrapped wheels under the bench. Waiting to bake the tires off the screwed wheels.
|
Nice pics, close up works well.
I have baked hundred of tires and never used tin foil ? Why ? The shock bodies look like hard anodized aluminum to me ? |

Sooo, this is where I admit I am an idiot a SECOND time..The shock bodies are alum. Just that the first one I looked at had a "swirl" in the anodizing like some plastics do when they colour it. |
Whats up with the extended diff cups?

Also, I noticed I must have twisted a dog bone! The "pins" don't line up when looked at lengthways. |
A few more things came in within the past week, my 1offrc TVP's finally showed up, I got my PS from feather merchant RC and also picked up a used DX3S from a guy at the LHS. I grabbed a couple pics of the RPM arms vs. the stockers, RPM looks much cleaner on there. I figured I would take a few pics of the evil f-250 too haha.
TVP's. I am REALLY impressed with the colour Janeth came up with for me. I told her what I was looking for, she did 3 different sample colours for me to choose from and this is what we ended up with. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y64...e04/fluxd3.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y64...e04/fluxd4.jpg Power Supply, I want to either paint this thing or decal it till I can't see how ugly it is haha. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y64...e04/fluxd5.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y64...e04/fluxd6.jpg DX3S, it will be the first radio I have ever owned other than stock radio's. I think I was about due for an upgrade haha. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y64...e04/fluxd7.jpg Stock arms vs. RPM. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y64...04/fluxd11.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y64...e04/fluxd8.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y64...04/fluxd10.jpg RPM and extended drive cups. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y64...e04/fluxd9.jpg And then there's the f-250 body. She has been through a lot LOL. If I hadn't have popped random holes through the windshield for airflow, I think I would still use this body with the extended chassis. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y64...04/fluxd12.jpg |

Hey, check out my thread. I found an issue with Janeth's TVP's. At least make sure you check your bulkhead attachments.

Quite a few diffs get ruined when the vehicle gets converted over to BL due to the fact the the diffs. are not shimmed correctly. Under nitro power they will hold out for some time, but, under BL power, they don't last long. Especially going from a 2hp motor to a 3 + hp BL motor. This just happened to me on my Mugen mbx-5T

The stock bulks don't have that contoured pocket that the TVP fits into, so that is probably why I saw the problem. Her TVP is different than the stockers in that area - but you dont see the issue with stock bulks. Janeth already responded to me, and she's going to work with me on it. |
So your only having the issue with your FLM bulks? I will say that is kind of odd haha, let us know how it works out, Janeth seems like the type of girl to make things right.
|
I ended up cutting the front and rear off my stock TVP's, and bolted them onto the new ones and sat with a file and dremel and matched them to the stock contour. I still had to use some persuation to get the rear in, but the went on.
Only got a little bit left to to, so I'll post up some pics in my thread. |
Well I got the TVP's on finally and picked up some of the integy alum. bearing carriers. Unfortunatly all they had were the purple ones *puke* but I am just going to have to deal with it haha. Also got bored and painted the PS, had a bit of a paint mishap thus the rc-monster and castle stickers on the bottom of it. Still waiting to get my diffs in the mail(starting to get angry on that one!) and also shock oil for the shocks then they can go on, plus ordered castle bullet connectors to switch everything over from deans.

Got a body on (painted it myself, screwed it up and just not happy with it, having someone paint a new one) and the shocks also installed, along with switched everything from deans to CC bullet connectors. I threw on the stock wheels just to get an idea and HOLY this thing is huge!

Lookin' good!
|
Thanks man. Hopefully I get the rest of the parts this week and run it before it snows, but that might be a long shot.
|
Well I built some battery trays for it, doing away with the ugly stockers that I had to cut up anyways. Probably going to get them anno'd black eventually. Should be getting the new body next week too, diffs are in but can't pick them up till monday...Just waiting on wheels now.

Nice job ! The trays look clean and neat.
Gonna need a cushion of some sort between the lipo and the side w/the motor mount ? I like the color choice and layout of the paint job also. |

That body is the one I screwed up and have since decided to get one airbrushed by a guy, it will be the same idea but actually nice haha. |
