but these have a sensored option. Last I checked the hobbywings didn't have that. Still looks like a hobbywing to me though.

I really thought a company such as BK would do their own controllers. Now they sell Hobbywing stuff and Suppo as well.

Well.... Even though its low end hobby wing, its still a huge step up from the totally outdated products they were selling. I think the controllers they were selling before were designed in 1990. :lol:

I saw that and giggled a bit. They still offer the older warrior stuff.

I think the 150A and 80A ones do have sensor ports on the ESC, but the motors they combo with them never have sensors

I wouldn't buy nothing bk sells.
There customer service made me a not want anything they sell any more.

I had a BK18120 in my Emaxx that went into my Revo, that went into my Jammin buggy and that is now in my friends converted Revo... But I would never buy another...

I wonder why don't they get the newest version, with much slimmer form factor, HUGELY improved 4 pole 12 slot high efficiency motor, and a extremely COOL programming box w/ dot matrix LCD and black anodized aluminum case(love that stuff). That program box will make somebody really happy. Good thing I was behind it. I put that idea here for Castle, but at the same time I was talking with Pan about it and he liked it. The most I got from Pan was a thank you and a few out dated products that I gave to a few local drivers, but for racing application it wasn't like the Xerun. I still remember the days I kept bugging Hobbywing to make a car controller and they kept saying "no", but one day Pan started asking for help and he put my other ideas to work pretty well. Now we see a few companies following with similar technology. I do have a few ideas that I'll use one day.

Sucks when one takes your ideas and don't credit you for it. Happend to me here at work. Some other fool got a patent for it. My contract fine print states that all "ideas" are my companies property.

I know it sucks, but it's ok as long as I know who came up with it. Good things might come out of it though :lol:. I didn't let my best ideas go though. I'm also waiting for the new heat sink to get done and if it works, it'll be just the beginning of things to come.

The heatsink will do me good in my pan cars.

I hope it works without the aid of a fan. The boat guys will be happier as I was told a hybrid design could increase the percent of heat dissipation to a much higher level. I will test it first without the fan to see if with little airflow over it will be enough to get rid of the heat extracted from the FETs.

Are you talking about the copper-aluminum hybrid heatsinks? Generally seen in big IC thermal management such as the CPU, laptop CPUs even use pure copper heatsinks. LRP employed that tech in some of it's new ESCs.

IIRC, copper conducts heat well, but doesn't shed it as well as aluminum. And it oxidizes. And don't dissimilar metals have different expansion rates? I would think that would lead to seperation. In practice, all that's needed is a slightly larger heatsink, anodized to reduce oxidation. Either that, or simply don't run it that hard. On second thought, all we need are FETs with extremely low rdson values and switch instantly on and off with no rise/fall time. Heatsinks would be a thing of the past. :smile:

It's a mixture of copper with some other material. I don't think aluminum is in there. All I know it's capable of dissipating almost 2 times more heat then copper alone.
