It performed great on me. But the most important improvement is the new motor in the combo, a 4 pole 12 slot motor that runs much more efficiently than the previous generation.

So Pan finally went with a 4 pole motor.

I noticed those new motors when browsing around ebay a few days ago. Unfortunately all I could find were a few combos with ESC and motor. Anyone know where you can get the motor by itself? I would probably give one a try if it was $100 or less, any higher and I'd just assume go for one of the new Castle Neu's.

wow, that sounds interesting, a 4-pole motor! It seems that Hobbywing finally is coming up with a very competitive Brushless Set. I'd like to get more details about the motor.

I was pretty impressed with the new motor.
4 pole fiber wrapped rotor, can't tell carbon or Kevlar cos its covered with kinda black resin.
well wound 12 slot stator has leads right from the coil wires, not soldered silicone wires like CC, and is much more flexible than Medusa and Neu because the wires are only tinned on their tips:yes:
5x13mm bearings are smaller than CC, same as Medusa, but they are ceramic bearings according to Hobbywing. Not sure if they will continue use those expensive stuff on mass production though.

Now they have two versions on sale: D41mm x L68mm 2200KV and D42mm(finned) x L74mm 2000KV. Not sure why they picked 41mm, now we have all diff dia. to choose from: 36mm, 39mm, 40mm, 41mm, 42mm, 44mm, 45mm....... I am missing the 1/10 age when every one was 36mm.

They share same MOSFETs part number, that might be the only thing in common.
The new Xerun is compatible with the new LCD programing box while the older Ezrun works only with the old LED box. The new one has a cool bright blue metalic look and a much smaller footprint:yes:. The new one has a built-in fan like the MMM but is hard to access in case they fail, also like the MMM:whip: . .........

wow, that sounds good. a problem about the various diameters is that it's hard to get a heatsink.
I think the good point is that they can use bigger magnets/rotors, which results in better torque due to higher mass of neodymium and the larger angle of the magnet on the axle.

Pan should've done this a long time ago. I gave him some contacts (Not the best ones I know though :lol:), but I guess the 2 pole versions were a bit cheaper at the time. I also told him about the different Kv ratings and my main goal was to have him do a HV unit, but I think he still doesn't see the benefit like the other places I contacted.

Yes the 2 pole FSD motors are cheap in material cost but are expensive in warranty and destroying in brand name defaming. They finally find a right way to go.

Considering your resources in hand, and endless ideas in your mind, I think you can stay in China for a while and come up with something really exciting? That would be cool, for both hobbists and your pocket.:whistle:

its cheaper for u cause the shipping is lower where u live. the mmm is 140 free shipping here in the states. i paid 130 shipped for the xerun 150 cause i had to have sensored and i smoked my mmp.:oops: took 3 weeks for castle to send me a new one.:yipi: so far the xerun has been holding up fine with about 2 dozen runs so far although it doesn't seem to have as much brakes as the mmp did.which software version do u use? is v1.6 the only one? is it better to use speedpassion software?
