What the difference between the flux and the monster
Sorry I don't have time to research this. I am getting ready to head out the door to make a deal. The guy is wanting a flux speed controller and motor and I was under the impression it is the same as a castle mamba monstor 2200kv setup or a traxxas/castle brushless 2200kv setup. Are there any difference except for the stickes?
Thanks for the help. |

Thanks. I just talked to him and well meet tomorrow for the trade. Got some time to look now. On paper they look the same as far as the specs go. I have the castle creations 2200kv setup and the traxxas E-revo brushless edition setup. They are the same except for the motor color and casings.
Is the motor mounting holes different on the flux motor or is the motor mount different? Remember reading something about that? |

I bought a flux motor for my brother in law, and if I remember correctly, the mounting screws are smaller than the Castle ones - but I could be remembering wrong. What are you getting from him? New toy? |
The Flux ESC and MMM are the same aside from the sticker and the presoldered series Deans connector. The motors are the same aside from the heatsink.

Yeah New Toy!!! I had a trade made a while back and I was a new 5b owner for a few hours. The fellow rolled on me and I was left standing at the alter all dressed up and broken hearted. Been on a mission since then to get one. The fellow called and said he was goinig in late to works. So I ran out and picked it up just a little bit ago. What the first thing you do when you get a new rc? Take more pictures of it in one session then you have pictures of your children in 18 years. lol I am excited. It's brand new. He put the kit together I am just adding a throttle servo and linkage to it.

Looked like a t-maxx in the corner. He just got done with a scale crawler. Did a real nice job on it. I need to get the other tires for this tomorrow and was going to show him my Savage XL conversion. He might be interested in it. |
I thought that maybe that was what you were getting. Very nice.
You didn't get that straight across for the MMM/Castle, did you??? Is it a full set of tires/rims that your getting? If so, I got dib's on the ones your not using!!!! |
I could of tried the straight across. I got the Traxxas Castle Mamba Maxx that tower has listed for 510.00 all by itself for some reason. Just getting the other rear tires. These are paddles and no snow yet.

All ya gotta do is drive 40 miles east buddy boy. Lots of snow on the other side of 4th of July.
So I gotta ask - have you ever been nabbed for going over 65 through Spokane (60mph "Strictly enforced)? I went through at 70 both ways over X-mas. |
I nearly did, and I won't take that chance again. The washington cops are some of the most unflexible in the country

Thanks.
No never been nabbed on the freeway in or around Spokane. Ellensburg, and 10 miles west of Ritzeville. Never in the great state of Montana either. I don't use the freeway too often seem most of my travel is North - South in Spokane. Rarely do I see anyone pulled over on the freeway around the downtown area. It seems they are usually pulled over farther east past the Sprague exit. The S curve close to downtown seem to bottle necks folks up escpecially the rush hour. That's probably why the highway patrol concentrate on the Valley area. Jeff you'll have to honk a couple times next time you go by. I live under the I-90 bridges at the bottom of Sunset Hill when you coming into Spokane from the west. Well not under the bridges but below them down by the hangman creek that the bridges go over. Your welcome to stop in too. I know what it like though when your making good time. Don't even want to stop for piss break most of the time. |
I am soooo jealous....that is very cool. Im excited for you and you have to keep us posted with a honest review of this coming from brushless mostly. And it is minty new...WOW:surprised: Very cool Gee congrats. I was a little confused what did you trade him for....not just a Flux system?? Anyhow it looks pimp-a-licious. Nice steal.
|
Thanks. It is pretty cool. It a 5b ss kit brand new. He put it together but never ran it. I never did trade anything to him for it. He was talking about a flux and I had a castle combo that I would of traded him in part but turns out he wanted the money anyway. It was a great price though only 600.00 for the kit already put together. He did a nice job also. It going to be some time before any conversion on this. Got a couple already on the waiting list and I am hoping some other HV esc are out by the time it is ready. Plus the wallet needs to be ready for it also.
|
Ya that is a sick deal for sure. As far as the conversion I just dont think the market is ready for that yet and it will be a while after that cherry is REALLY popped before it will affordable and worth it IMO. I am ready though and still remains a goal of mine to someday soon have a 1/5 scale BL rig. Until then I am interested to hear how you dig the pump gas beast.
